I agreed to a shady deal with my neighbor because I was absolutely desperate. It was a bargain connived to change my trajectory in life and provide me with an opportunity to make something of myself. I broke the whole idea down into five easy steps…
Step one: Get close to Collin Franzen. Step two: Snoop through his parent’s house and find where they keep their valuables. Step three: Report back to Derek, my criminally-inclined neighbor. Step four: Split the proceeds after he robs the place. Step five: Graduate high school and skip town.
An easy way to make some guilt-free money. Like a modern-day Robin Hood, right? Wrong. Oh, so very wrong.
I forgot to account for unforeseen variables that would almost immediately create an extra step in my plan. Like… Step one-point-five: Fall in love with Collin Franzen; the golden-boy quarterback with the gem-colored eyes, a quick wit, and a huge heart.
The Con that was supposed to go off without a hitch has become more complicated than I expected.

I loved this story! It was unique, entertaining, sweet, steamy, and just angsty enough to keep my angst-loving heart satisfied. McKenzie was a great character and I loved her. She’s smart, fierce, beautiful, bold, and full of perseverance. Collin was a dream to read. The consummate southern gentleman, so sweet, caring, strong, and thoughtful. Not to mention wicked hot and fiercely protective (yes please!). I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down, I loved it that much. 5/5 stars and I’d give it more if I could!
This book is way better than the cover jacket lets on! I loved it. The characters were comprehensive and deep and well thought out. The circumstances and storyline were golden. It was a great read set in high school. There were a couple steamy scenes.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Okay,okay.....I get it. He has emerald green eyes and she has chocolate brown eyes! I just didn't need to be told every other page!!!,.....Other than that minor issue, I enjoyed the book.
