Hotshot is a standalone enemies to lovers small town romance set in the Everyday Heroes world created by K Bromberg.
This was such a quick and easy read that I enjoyed the whole way through. Audrey & Ethan don't have the best first encounter. They are both dealing with the loss of someone close to them but are handling it in different ways. They want nothing more than to not have to deal with each other but of course life has other plans.
I really liked their banter and push & pull dynamic as well as Audrey's sassyness though it did take me a little longer to understand her. Her focus and priorities got in the way of what really mattered and their were times she frustrated me but she really did have quite a bit of personal growth and the more she let go and dealt with some of her personal issues the more I grew to like her. Ethan I pretty much loved from the minute he stepped on the scene. He is my favourite type of hero, the grumpy standoffish type of guy who is passionate about the things he cares about the most.
Their story was sweet, heartfelt, charming and also had elements of one of my favourite tropes, close proximity. The only issue I had with the story was the fact that it was so short I felt some of the relationship development wasn't given as much time as I would normally prefer. It was over way too fast and I would've loved if it had been longer. I haven't actually read the Everyday Heroes series but I found that didn't affect my reading experience at all, if anything it just made me interested in checkout out some of the other stories connected to this world. As usual I really liked Jenna's writing style and can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
《book aesthetic made by me. I do not own the pictures, all found via pinterest》

Looking For Hot Stuff
*read on KU. No need of sugar daddies called promo teams*
Jenna brings you a bitter and sweet fast-paced romance story that grows out of grief. Secrets get uncovered. Feathers are ruffled. The two main characters go back and forth. Their chemistry is ON from the moment they meet, and it only takes a little bit of this and a little bit of that to get them going! Not everything is as it seems.

Enemies to Lovers romance reads are normally not my thing but when done right, like this book is, it becomes my thing. Hotshot is about second chances and starting over.
Audrey is an egotistical, power hungry, lawyer. Cold, detached, unhappy. Honestly, not very like able (at the beginning). When her father dies, she’s forced to go back home for his funeral and to settle his estate. When she arrives, she clashes with Ethan.
Ethan, Ethan,Ethan.....I loved Ethan. He’s complicated, generous, loyal, damaged, stubborn, sexy - he’s a diamond in the rough.
When people as passionate as these two main characters, go at it, it is a reader’s dream come true. Watching them argue, fuss and fight, was hot and when they finally went over the sexual edge, it made for a delicious romance read. I couldn’t read the words fast enough and was over the moon when Audrey and Ethan got their much deserved and oh so sexy, happily ever after.
Hotshot gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval. TBR and Enjoy.

I’ve yet to meet a Jenna Hartley story that I’ve not enjoyed- and Hotshot is no exception. This is a fast, steamy, and sweet enemies to lovers story - two seemingly opposite characters thrust together as the result of a complicated personal loss.
Overworked, ambitious, lawyer Audrey returns home to settle her late father’s affairs- a father that she deeply resents as the result of their past. Only she’s surprised to discover her father has a tenant on her property- the once down on his luck now turned firefighter and local favorite, Ethan, a man who has deep love for her father since he helped Ethan turn his life around. Of course, this is a recipe for passionate clashes as they two are unexpectedly connected to one another and work through their own baggage. But that frustration and passion creates a tense chemistry that soon explodes into something delicious- and like all Jenna stories, we get ample heaps of sweet and swoon.
The feminist in me hates to say it, but it took me a minute to thaw towards Audrey. Less so because of her career ambition or her negativity towards her dad (in fact, I related to that) but more because of how cold she is, and how she puts some of her own stuff on Ethan. But, as we get more of her heart, and as she starts to contemplate her own purpose and dreams, I found myself really warming to and relating to her wonderings. And Ethan- I mean SWOON. He exudes empathy, loyalty, and compassion, but he’s also got some alpha sexy appeal and that stubborn edge. He melted my heart in the same way he melts Audrey’s- and when these two heat up, my heart as all aflutter.
This is a great quick fun and steamy story to warm the heart!

Hotshot is a book about a overstressed over worked lawyer Audrey coming back to her home town to settle her father's estate .
What she isn't expecting is the change of the will to keep her from Boston longer than expected.
But she will use her "charming" skills to get the house to sell only one person stands in her way Ethan and that will bring it's own set of complications.
I appreciate the secrets spilled in this book and believe it made the book have some pizzazz.
It took me a while to warm up to audrey but she eventually redeemed herself

Loved it!!! Reading this book, and particularly the small town of Sunnyville, made me feel so warm inside, like drinking a cup of hot chocolate while sitting by the fireplace 🍫!! The story begins on a sad note, with the death of the heroine’s father, but things quickly pick up as Audrey and Ethan’s loving story begins. I liked Audrey and at times definitely understood how she felt, but I LOVED Ethan 🥰!! His story was heartbreaking, but his attitude towards life, despite what he’s been through, is beautiful!! He’s also kind, sexy, and little arrogant😉! In other words, a perfect hero 🔥! Overall, I definitely recommend this one, especially since it’s just quick enough to read, but definitely not too short of a romance story.

I totally enjoyed this book. I love it when an author takes a novella and makes you feel completely satisfied with the story. You were given SO much information and background on these characters in a small span of time that you fell in love with them quickly and hard. I found myself tearing up, laughing and getting pissed off at the characters around me not seeing themselves clearly. Like people I SEE YOU, please start finding the way soon. Jenna Hartley took a world I loved written by the amazing K Bromberg and added more to it. Bravo my friend. Loved it. xo

Touching and cute!
This enemies to lovers romance was really good! I enjoyed getting to know both of the characters and watching their relationship develop over the story. The connection the share through Audrey’s father turns out to be really wonderful and the epilogue is so sweet!

Hotshot by Jenna Harley should really be titled HotDAMN. This book is a fantastic enemies-to-lovers tale. Audrey, an up-and-coming attorney based in Boston has to fly home to California to wrap up her father's affairs. While doing so, she crosses paths with Ethan. Ethan is a man who had a rough start in life, but has become a beacon of motivation, hope, & support in his community. Audrey has a chip on her shoulder and decides to throw it at Ethan. Ethan gets equally frustrated with Audrey as well. The frustration between the two is continuous and builds up to the point of eruption. And, hot damn, is it worth the build up!
The story has lots of interesting dynamics in how the life Audrey has come to live has been based. She truly questions what she wants and who she wants to be with. Ethan is there as a sounding board and possible landing pad, if Audrey would only take the leap. The supporting characters woven into the story flow nicely with the dynamics of the plot. These two people are truly "good people" and deserve their HEA. I highly recommend grabbing a copy, something to drink, and finding a cozy spot to enjoy this delightful read!

Jenna Hartley is one of my favourite authors for quick, steamy and sweet stories. Hotshot is everything I love about her writing and the story and characters drew me immediately and I loved revisiting K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes World.
Ethan and Audrey had incredible chemistry but boy did they have some serious hate to love tension from the beginning.
Ethan I adored immediately. He is a reformed bad boy, ex-firefighter and builder of tiny homes. He is successful and hardworking, sexy, charming and has a big heart. As he gets to know Audrey he has no problem challenging her and pushing her outside of her comfort zone which I admired.
Audrey I’ll be honest was not my favourite at first. She comes into town with a big chip on her shoulder having to be there for her estranged fathers estate and law practice and is harbouring some complicated feelings towards him that she needed to work through. At first she appears self-centred and annoyed to be in the position she is in. These qualities rubbed me the wrong way BUT in my opinion she completely redeemed herself by the end. Jenna Hartley did a fabulous job with the character development and once Audrey’s walls were broken down you get to see her true heart and you cannot help but love this couple and route for their HEA.

This is an enemies-to-lovers novel with a hot as sin firefighter fighting a troubled past, and an up and coming lawyer, fighting emotional turmoil from her childhood.
I’m usually not one to read about firefighters because I know what life is like married to one of them (I just looooove seeing pictures of hubs standing on the roof a burning building 🙄). Fortunately, Hotshot, was more centered around Ethan’s “day job”, which I loved!
Y’all the character development in this story was astounding. I honestly was not a fan of Audrey at first. I thought she was selfish and self-centered. She completely redeemed herself in my eyes though. You just have to get through the tough exterior to see the mushy, love-able woman she really is.
And Ethan? What up alpha daddy. His first impression of Audrey was about like mine was but he really weaseled his way into that heart of hers. I loved watching them grow as a couple and the banter between the two, I mean...when they stopped hating each other 😂, was hilarious.
Well done Mrs. Hartley!!

Audrey left her small hometown to become a hotshot attorney in the big city, now she has to return home to settle up the estate of her recently passed father. What she doesn’t expect to find is the man who has been helping her father out and is also living on the property, Ethan.
They both have different opinions of Audrey’s father, which also contributed to a lot of Audrey’s dislike for her hometown and this led to the two of them butting heads a lot. This all contributed to the amazing banter and tension between the two of them. Their story and relationship takes a turn and I loved how the chemistry and everything changed between them. Without knowing they both slowly helped the other find themselves, to see everything they thought for so long was not always the real truth and quickly became supportive of each other.

Hotshot is such a quick and fun read. I enjoyed every minute of it! It is a fast paced enemies to lovers romance.
I loved the characters in this book, and I thought they were perfect for an enemies to lovers romance. Both Audrey and Ethan have a lot of baggage to overcome. I enjoyed seeing them both overcome their hurdles as the book went on. The characters also had such great chemistry, it was so steamy!
Overall, I loved this book! I enjoyed that this book was written in dual POV. Jenna Hartley is such a great author, and I will continue to read anything she writes! If you’re a fan of romance books, I highly recommend this one! I read this all in one day, I did not want to put it down.

Audrey is living the fast life of a lawyer in Boston when she gets the news that her estranged father has passed away. She heads back to her childhood home to wrap things up but upon her arrival she is met with who she assumes is an intruder and pepper sprays him. Ethan was a dear friend of Audrey's father Scott and is beside himself with his passing. Scott helped Ethan turn his life around and gave him the second chance he desperately needed and deserved.
When Audrey receives news that ties her not only to her hometown but also to Ethan she devises a plan to try to win him over and get her way but he isn't having it. They both are holding onto a lot of hurt from their past and don't trust easily. It causes a lot of back and forth bickering between them but as the days go on things change completely between them.
Will they both be able to finally tell the truth of their feelings? Are they willing to see where things could lead?
I received a free ARC copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Hotshot attorney and hotshot firefighter ... enemies at first sight. Are Audrey and Ethan about to learn how thin the line between love and hate is?
I loved the banter and bickering between Audrey and Ethan. Their passion makes for a steamy page-turner. I was happy to see this couple get their HEA.
I enjoyed having some of my favorites from the Everyday Heroes world playing key roles in Audrey and Ethan's story.
Hotshot is a fun, quick read about finding love where you least expect it, second chances, and forgiveness.
I received an early copy of this book. This voluntary review contains my unbiased, honest opinion.

I thought Hotshot was a fun, quick read! Makes you fall in love with these characters pretty quickly and honestly how can you not! Ethan and Audrey are proof that what you see at first is not what you always get. And living in a small town where everyone knows your business but also cares about you enough to always check in.
“You help me not just sparkle but shine” we all need someone that makes us feel this way! Everyone should shine and Ethan does that for Audrey. He makes her believe she doesn’t need the glitz and glamour of a big city and also everything you think you knew about your life or preconceived notions you had about someone can change in an instant.
Jenna Harley’s books will always be added to my TBR and I am always anxious for more stories from her. Hotshot is in the Everyday Heroes World book series by K. Bromberg and this is Jenna Hartley’s take on her version of a Everyday Hero! Congrats!

This story is a fast moving enemies to lovers story. It is highly emotionally engaging, as both characters come with a lot of baggage (though, admittedly, some of it is self-inflicted by the female lead’s unwillingness to communicate).
I enjoyed the character interactions and individual development as well as how the relationship evolved and the male lead’s empathy. Also appreciated was each character’s willingness to own up to mistakes.
The story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a truly enjoyable contemporary romance. I received an advanced reader copy and have chosen to post this honest review.

Wow. Just wow. This was one incredible book, and that's putting it lightly. Enemies to lovers us one of my absolute favorite romance tropes, so going into this, I knew I would love it, and now that I've finished it, I'd have to say that that was an understatement. I very much enjoyed reading Ethan and Audrey's story. They were both very real and relatable, and it was intriguing to watch the connection between them grow throughout the story. I loved this story and would 10/10 recommend it for anyone looking for a good book from this world, a contemporary romance, or just an enemies to lovers story.

Who doesn’t love an enemies to lovers?
Audrey is an overworked lawyer holding on to a lot of deep seated pain from her past when her dad dies and she has to go back to her hometown for the memorial service.
She meets Ethan, the broody once bad boy who has been living in a tiny house on her dads property for years, that she knew nothing about.
These two have it out for each other from the moment they meet. Audrey resents her father and Ethan adores her father. Audrey isn’t the most likable character in the beginning but when she sheds her layers you learn to like her. Ethan is constantly doing good for his community to make up for his past and you adore him from the start.
I really loved watching them both shed their pasts and their darkness and becoming their best selves with each other and I’m always here for the steam. 🔥 I highly recommend!

This small town, enemies to lovers romance is fantastic. Audrey is pulled back to her hometown due to unfortunate circumstances and is immediately confronted with a man who she immediately despises. She ran away to escape her past, but coming back she has to learn to face it. Ethan, the man who her father treated like a son, worked so hard to be better than his past, now has to deal with his father figure's daughter trying to uproot his life. They want to hate each other, they really do, but there is a connection there that neither of them can deny.
I truly loved this book from Jenna and it flowed so fluidly from start to finish. I was able to read this in a day because I couldn't put it down.

Short, sweet, and absolutely perfect. I love how Audrey and Ethan meet and then are thrown together. The situation is not perfect or ideal. But these two lonely souls are brought together and will never be the same. I really enjoyed getting this small taste of Audrey and Ethan. I loved the people of Sunnyville and I'm glad Audrey was able to find home. This was just what I needed on this rating day.

Wow... I really loved this story!! Ethan is such an amazing character, that I loved immediately! He is that broken hero that we all love! Audrey is the strong independent woman that is trying to find her way..
Their attraction to one another is hard to deny. I enjoy when characters have that banter and these 2 have that.
You will love all these characters and seeing the characters from the Everyday Hero books is another sweet treat!
This is a great story that will pull at your heartstrings! I highly recommend this one!!
I can't wait to read more of Jenna's books!!❤

Hotshot by Jenna Hartley is a fun and quick paced enemies to lovers story. Audrey is a bit high strung and stressed out, as a lawyer in a big law firm in Boston. When her father dies she has to head back to the small town she grew up in to settle his affairs. Ethan lives in a tiny house on Audrey's dad's property. They're first meeting is less than ideal and it only goes downhill from there. Ethan knows what he wants and does not shy away from going for it. He is definitely a take charge alpha type, but his sole mission is Audrey's pleasure and that was all kinds of hot. This is a very fun contemporary romance. I have not read any other stories in the Everyday Heroes World and this is a complete standalone that can be read independently.

I loved Ethan and Audrey! It goes to show that you can’t base judgement off what you see at first site. People need to look and ask before you assume and judge the situation. But Ethan and Audrey had an enemies to lovers, that was perfect. I could read more of their story.

This took on an entirely new face for the “enemy’s to lover’s” trope. It’s true what they say... death does tend to bring people together. I absolutely LOVED this book!! From previous job titles to current housing situations, I loved every minute of this story!!
“The Everyday Heroes World” is everything I hoped for!
***Thank you Jenna Hartley for my { #gifted } copy of this book to read and review!

Hotshot was a really quick read, it did take a little while for me to come around for Audrey's character.
She showed so much resentment towards her dad and what she thought had happened as a child And Ethan being close to her dad those years she had been away upset her. Even though her and Ethan didn't get along very well they came around to each other and opened up to one another. I really did enjoy this read!
