Tessa Harris never imagined going back to her childhood home. But when her Aunt Sylvia passes away her brother asks her to remodel the house he inherited to be sold. So she packs up her car and heads back to Willow Landing. Once there she finds the townsfolk not happy to see her and trouble begins to head her way.
Police Chief Mason Slade wasn’t any happier than the rest of the townsfolk that a Harris had come back to town. After fielding several reports of disturbances, he finally goes to confront Tessa himself. Instead of finding a troublemaker, he finds an attractive woman who wants nothing more than to remodel the old house and get out of town as quick as possible.
But the trouble has just started, and it’s directed at Tessa. Mason vows to find the person responsible for threatening Tessa and vandalizing her property. But as things get worse for Tessa, things start to heat up between Tessa and Mason. And Mason finds himself wanting to keep Tessa close to his side for always.
"...beautiful pairing of romantic love and suspense making it almost impossible to put down." - Amazon Reader
Romantic suspense author, or as she likes to say "suspenseful romance", Elizabeth Castle grew up in the heart of the Midwest. Introduced to romance novels at eighteen, she fell in love with the genre, becoming an avid reader. She enjoys different sub-genres, but especially loves stories featuring private detectives, police officers, FBI agents and any other purveyor of justice. Inspired by these stories, she published her first novel in 2017, and now has a dozen titles to her name. She’s a pet mom to two dogs and a cat, all of which she spoils. When not writing, she prefers quiet time at home, crafting, reading, and learning to play the piano. When she does stray from home, she loves taking road trips; her favorite destination is the Florida panhandle where she can relax on the white sand beaches.

Tessa returns to her hometown to work on her family home, getting it ready for sale. Mason, the local sheriff, gets to know Tessa and wants to protect her through vandalism, harm and treachery. Someone does not want her there. The characters are all vivid and interesting. The suspense and hints of romance keep the pages turning. So many questions like who attacked her and why, who killed her dad and why, and why do so many people hate her. The answers and so much more make the ending worth the wait. Family and the people you really care about are all that matters.

Going Home begs the question "can you ever really go home again?"
I loved this book. This is the first book I have read by this author and I hope to read more. This is a well-written romantic suspense story that pulls at your emotions as Tessa tries to remodel her childhood home and is thwarted and threatened at every turn. This story kept me engaged from start to finish, with mystery, suspense, and romance. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
This book has some complex characters and a n interesting story line. The characters develop throughout the book and then they spring on you in the end. I like how the minor characters and up stealing the ending!
