It’s time to step up and remind everyone that we’re the best in town.
The local fae lord hired us to find out who’s been setting fires and killing fae. At first it sounded like an interesting challenge. It’s not every day we track down a firebug. Then news reached us that we weren’t the only ones he hired.
The gauntlet had been thrown. It was us versus the fae. A sensible pack might have bowed out, but we had a point to prove.
With the goddess looming over us and the city showing where its allegiances really lie, this fight was going to go down in the history books.

For some reason, even though this is super short, it still seemed like it was too much. Too much fighting, too much of the same from the other books and I really didn't love a certain fox missing from it all. I don't know, this did't quite feel like the first two. Lily, didn't quite feel like the fierce Lily from the first two even though she was every bit as kick butt as she was. Hard to explain. I'm hoping we get a satisfying ending.
The story moved along at a good pace, and there weren't that many plotholes which were frustrating. There were some grammatical errors that was upsetting, such as who is Kerry which I assume they meant Jess?! Lily made some comments that were confusing such as her trying to figure out who Henri and Alexander where when that was discussed in book 2, as well as her being upset at realizing that the fae overlord knew where they live which was mentioned in book 1. Lilly is getting much better at being prepared at all times for any danger, although there were a few moments where she wasn't prepared but I guess that was necessary as it got her infinity. The romance was there but very low key and in the background, the same with the time scales of the book which sometimes made the emotions expressed feel a bit off. She has her moments of not feeling very Packy but she is defo picking up some animalistic qualities. It was fun to see some returning characters show up to support them, and the other myriad of interesting and outrageous friends the rest of the pack has. The book ended on an exhausted can't a girl catch a break oh S#!+ moment. I'm excited to see how it all ends!
Lily and Elijah take their relationship to the next level but their case takes a lot out of them. This time they are competing with a Fae on their case and he hires mercenaries to take them all out. There are some amazing fights but they still solve the case. Meanwhile, Lily is feeling guilt over Castor and is concerned about when the goddess will be coming to collect on her debt.
This is such an awesome series. I have been looking forward to each and every book. I have been grabbing the next one before I finish the one I'm reading.
