Andrew Plant is a breath-taking Australian illustrator and author. Jump onto his website for a vast array of visual treats! Andrew is an author/illustrator who combines deep understanding and insight, with highly imaginative creativity. Reading his books is a joy, and 'Jump!', is a story with timeless appeal. Stumpy, the littlest Quig, can't do what the other Quigs do, nor join them in their high-jumping adventures. He looks and feels like an outsider and life is hollow. But one day, Stumpy discovers where his true talents lie....
This is a perfect book to celebrate diversity, individual talents, inclusiveness and the CBCA theme for 2020: Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.

A strange imaginary creature fears to jump from tree to tree like his friends, and is feeling alone and outcast. Fortunately, an alternative (even better) solution is found. This book would especially provide encouragement to children who are having trouble fitting in. You just never know what resolution is waiting just around the corner. Hang in there!

A really nice sorry about how being different doesn’t mean being worse. My kids liked it and they found the otherworldly illustrations fascinating.
