Lila Mina

An avid reader of thrillers, science-fiction, horror and romance, I have been writing for nearly 25 years. Lila Mina is one of my pen names.

I am a firm believer in cross-genre literature. Life is too complex, too rich and surprising to limit stories to one genre only. I love blending genres to create powerful characters, emotional plots and exciting stories that hopefully will stay a long time with my readers. My stories feature multiracial couples and sometimes menage who come together, bound by love and passion, to fight against forces bent on taking them apart.

I live in Japan. The rich and beautiful traditions, the amazing nature and the long history of this country are a constant source of creative inspiration.

After more than two years of work, I will release the first book of my TEMPER saga in ebook and paperback in March 2019, and books 2 and 3 in May and July. I am actively looking for reviewers, so feel free to contact me to discuss about an eARC.

A highly explicit and sensual story with paranormal undertones, it is a tale of survival, resilience, personal growth, loyalty and unbreakable love between three unforgettable characters. It takes my readers along the transformative journey of self-discovery of Lana Martin.

Fated Souls by The Romance Cafe (Authors include Barbara Russell, Belle Langtree, Chele MacCabe, Ariel Dawn, Lila Mina, Layali Grimshaw, and A Perveen)

I was very excited to get this paranormal anthology. Perfect to read a short story before bed, or with a cup of coffee before my kids wake up (or 2 or 3 stories haha!) It has been forever since I have read anything paranormal.

This anthology has lots of steam which I love! I was expecting only werewolves and vampires, but these stories have introduced me to so much more. Ghosts, liliths, werewolves, vampires, hunters, dragons...a very fun mix of plots and characters.

My favorites stories of the group include The Kiss Thief – A Royal Occult Bureau Novelette by Barbara Russell, How to Tame a Dragon by Lila Mina, and Between the Ocean and the Flame by A. Perveen. I especially loved The Kiss Thief. I am not sure what year it takes place, but it has a historical feel (my true love!) with a debutante at a ball, her strong bodyguard, and an interfering Unnatural.

Thank you, Romance Cafe for another wonderful novel that provides hours of entertainment as well as supporting Breast Cancer research and care.

Romantic Souls

This was an amazing collection of stories! I enjoyed reading and loved this book. All were new authors to me but one (Lila Mina). Fated Souls was very entertaining, page turner, great characters and well written. I look forward to reading more of the other and work!! I highly recommend reading this book.

I read all the stories, great & terrible :)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⚫️⚫️The Kiss Thief (Barbara Russell) was set in her Occult Bureau Universe. I haven't read the Occult Bureau books and the characters don't seem like they are protagonists of the series, but I am intrigued. May check those books later.

⭐️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️The Secret of Hickory Hill (Belle Langtree) I'll be honest, this trainwreck was all over the place and I regret reading it. The writing belongs into bad fanfiction territory, the story was just a backdrop to porn :/

⭐️⭐️⚫️⚫️⚫️The Doctor and the Wolf (Chele MacCabe) It's a story of a werewolf and a veterinarian. It was cute. It got me with the childhood sweetheart trope. I always fall for that.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⚫️⚫️Faded (Ariel Dawn) A rather well-written short story. The premise wasn't really unique, but the execution was still good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️How to Tame a Dragon (Lila Mina) - it was so great it's now going to be a book series. Yeah for me because I LOVED it. This is the kind of story I live for. Seeing this rewritten in ten times as long will make my winter reading season.

⭐️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️Dark Desires (Layali Grimshaw) confused, confuddled, incomplete and packed with more twists and interactions that a short story can or should handle. This author really wanted to write a whole big novel - but this anthology called for a short story, and she decided to go with all her ideas anyway. It was quite the jumbled mess, and the ending was completely open, but not in a way that made much sense. Most of the scenes were awfully rushed and glossed over. I confess I don't much know what even happened most of the time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Between the Ocean and the Flame (A. Perveen)

"All pewtered edges of his world bloomed in technicolor, like a sunflower growing through a crack in the gray sidewalk."

"She'd spent a lifetime in a city by the sea and had always found it sad the way one seamless wave sometimes halved into two just as it reached the shore. One returned to the ocean, the other crumbling on the sand."

I have never heard of this author before and I bought the anthology solely to read Lila Mina's short story. It was probably the greatest Paranormal Romance short story I ever read in my life. Can you write a story with forbidden love between vampires and hunters, set in Karachi, with one half of the couple a muslim and the other a hindu and not make it a stuffed, pretentious pile of junk? Apparently it's possible. It was grand, the prose was mesmerizing. The whole thing was so polished I was really aggravated when I found out the author published exactly 0 works except this one, so now I just lay in wait sadly. Please write a novel. Or a Paranormal Romance series. I'd really like to know more about Pari and Shahzaib.

The first story was my favorite and the others were a variety of successful and not successful. I would have liked this better if the stories had some connection, maybe?

This is my review for Dark Desires by Layali Grimshaw.
This new and up coming brilliant (in my opinion)author has put a new twist on the genre of paranormal romance. Written by an author who will definitely take you to new places with just enough sarcastic humor to have you smiling hours after you finished the book. If you don't read this and fall in love with the characters your not a book reader your just visiting while you wait. Love the book, love the characters and can't wait to read what comes next!

I liked some of the stories , others not my cup of tea. I did like the fact that it included many different paranormal/ mythological creatures. If you like these kind of stories then give this anthology a try.
