[image error]Full Clearing Another World under a Goddess with Zero Believers: Volume 4 by Isle Osaki

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⚝ ⚝ (3/5)

This is where the “weakest guy in another world” trope stops pretending—and starts getting dangerously fun.

Volume 4 of Full Clearing Another World under a Goddess with Zero Believers doesn’t reinvent isekai—but it absolutely knows how to weaponize its own formula. What began as a slow-burn, almost underpowered survival story now leans hard into payoff, progression, and just enough chaos to keep things addictive.

What Hits Hard:

Makoto continues to be one of the more refreshingly restrained protagonists in the genre. He’s not your typical overpowered, smug hero—he’s cautious, strategic, and still feels like someone who could realistically fail. That tension is exactly what keeps the story engaging.

#Koukyuu no Karasu from All About Yas

Volume 4 finally starts delivering on long-teased elements:

Noticeable power progression that actually feels earned
More layered world-building and political tension
Character dynamics that move beyond surface-level archetypes
A stronger sense of stakes—not everything feels safe anymore

CDN media

And yes—it’s getting bigger, bolder, and slightly more unhinged.

“This is the volume where patience starts paying dividends.”

But Let’s Be Honest:

#yubisaki to renren from ianime0

The series still can’t fully escape its isekai DNA. Some tropes cling on stubbornly:

#Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou Desu from My Blog

Occasional info-dump pacing that slows momentum
Side characters that feel more like functional additions than fully realized people
A lingering sense that the story is still holding back its full potential

It’s not groundbreaking—but it’s consistently entertaining, and sometimes that’s exactly the point.

#kageki shojo!! from low key; no pressure

Why This Volume Works:

This is the kind of installment fans screenshot, clip, and hype:

“Weak MC actually gets stronger” moments ✔️
Underdog payoff arcs ✔️
Strategic wins instead of brute-force victories ✔️
That slow-burn turning into something seriously addictive ✔️

Final Verdict:

Volume 4 doesn’t change the game—but it proves the game is worth playing. It’s the tipping point where casual readers turn into invested fans.

If you’ve stuck with the series this far, this is the volume that rewards you. If you haven’t—this might be the one that convinces you to start.

🔥Verdict: Not revolutionary—but dangerously bingeable. The kind of progression fantasy that sneaks up on you… and suddenly you’re four volumes deep at 3 AM.

Makoto and friends travel to the capital of Highlands, both to receive recognition for their help against the blight dragon and to deal with the Snake Cult. The find a city that looks peaceful, but is at the brink of collapse. Their strict class (and race) based hierarchies have created a perfect situation for the Snake Cult to take advantage of. To make matters worse, the high priestess of the Moon Goddess is running around and potentially causing problems.

Much like previous volumes, the story is light hearted fantasy with for the most part likeable characters and just enough of a twist to the world building and plot to keep it interesting. Getting to read a bit more about Makoto and the Hero of Light's past in Japan was also interesting, showed that Makoto is not exactly a reliable narrator at least not when it comes to himself.

The story still has the same flaws. Makoto's behaviour towards his harem is a bit inconsistent, one moment he is well aware of the feeling of the girls around him, the next he is oblivious. His jealous grumbling about the Hero of Light is grating since he really should (and is) aware he is in the same position if he showed even a little bit of courage. It feels a bit like the author is trying too hard to be funny here. The world has its twist, but is fairly generic, and how people consider Makoto's map view skill weak remains weird. Sure, Makoto might not realize it, but anybody with any knowledge on tactics would want to have the teenager on their team if just to direct people to the optimal places.

All in all, an entertaining light-hearted story and I am curious where things are going.

I continue to enjoy this series. It's fun to watch the protagonist rapidly oscillate between being basically incompetent and as powerful as anyone else in the world. Fun to see him problem-solving his way to power in the same way he would in an RPG. Fun to watch him regularly completely fail to understand how others perceive him and watch the fallout from such. Just good fun.

I read this as a member of j-novel.club as it was released in serial rather than the published e-book version.
