Father #3

Now and Forever

Rate this book
Love was a lie. After living in darkness for so long, I’d despaired of ever being blessed by its grace. Until I met him. The man who showed me hatred doesn’t always win. The man who made me his boy.

My Daddy, for now and forever…

For Seth, life no longer means endless pain.

Joy greets Seth everyday as his bond with Daddy deepens. They’ve built a world together that represents safety and comfort, and he knows that Daddy will keep him for always. Seth’s trust in him has also left him feeling strangely curious. To his surprise, he discovers he’s eager to explore new kinks.

Malcolm now knows Seth was meant for him.

The curse of being alone has lifted, and Malcolm is thankful every day that he once again has love in his life. But Seth is more than just another boy. Seth is the other part of Malcolm he hadn’t realized was missing. In addition, his boy is becoming more open and adventurous in all ways. How could he be more fortunate?

Then unexpected tragedy strikes, and both men must face that forever sometimes means starting over…

Note: Now and Forever is the final book in Malcolm and Seth's journey of love, healing and redemption in the Father series trilogy. The first two books, In the Name of the Father and For the Love of a Boy should be read prior to this one. However, you can be assured that none of the books in the Father series end on a cliffhanger and that this age gap, Daddy/boy series with lots of hurt/comfort contains a sweet forever after.

Malcolm and Seth are settling into their life together in a daddy/boy dynamic, but there are still hurdles they need to clear. Seth has yet to actually meet Malcolm’s parents which happens in this installment. I love Malcom's mother and his dad was so clueless but simply adorable at the same time. Then there is still the trial of Seth’s father and the other church leaders who imprisoned him. Seth may have to return to Idaho to face them and testify after he has worked so hard to become more confident after 3 years of being away from them. I was confident that Malcolm would be able to get Seth through the challenges that faced him...but wondered how far back it was going to send him. In this third and final installment of the Father series, the characters are so well established that you begin to think of them as your close friends. They remained consistent throughout the books, and even manage to grow through every event, good or bad that makes up the full arc of the story. Seth’s progress throughout the three books always seemed natural, as does his occasional step backward, but Malcome was always there offering him unconditional love and support. This story didn't exactly follow the plot I was use to or that I was anticipating based on how book 2 ended. The big dramatic moment I was expecting turned out to not be the big deal that I was expecting. The actual turn of events is definitely a surprise but not what was expected. Unpredictable yet heartwarming events in a story with characters that you almost look at as family, always makes a much better read. Reading Seth’s journey was difficult at times. Sometimes, like most readers, I have to remind myself that it's a work of fictional...but Seth's and the others experiences at the hands of his ultra-conservative church and his father, is unfortunately entirely believable. My state recently had a case that was almost exactly like Seth's experiences with his church. Malcolm had a halo and wings stored somewhere I'm sure:). He usually seemed a bit too good to be true, but he was exactly what Seth needed and it was great to know that he wasn't going to overreact to anything that Seth said or did. He was going to make his "boy" feel loved and protected every single time. The big turn of events in this book shows Malcolm coming across as a lot more like a normal human being. I loved him anyway he was from the time he met lost Seth in that little bar to their big event in the end. This trilogy is going to be good for many rereads.

A “Sea of Dreams”!

Reinventing, next big leap for sweet boy Seth & nurturer Daddy Malcolm. This is the wrapping up loose ends and forging a new future tale. It’s sweet and a bit sad but all good with a big red cherry on top! We could only wish life was like this!

This book/series was provided by the author in return for an honest review. I read the entire series and will be breaking up my reviews for each book, and then summarizing them all for the box set.

Yeah, we finally get to meet Malcolm's parents, after them being together for nine months. There's two scenes with the parents (BTW the parents live 8 hour drive away so the not seeing his parents frequently made a little more sense). Hello, Mother/Father, how does Seth feel about this... who knows?

As with books 1 and 2, there were many scenes that just stopped and the author just moved us along to a few weeks or months later. While there was plenty of sex scenes and exploration of toys and whatnot, the dialogue was repetitive of Seth is worried or upset and Daddy/Malcolm replies the same with comfort and redirection.

There's a sweet HEA with honeymoon hotel scene at the end of the book three, but again the reader only hears about the wedding in like three sentences.

Throughout the series we see growth of character for both Malcolm and Seth, but with the way the scenes jumped I missed the character connection. Also, I expected there to be a lot more about religion, but Seth just drops it completely. There wasn't a crisis of faith which I found odd and frankly disconcerting. I think maybe if Seth had given up on God or we'd been shown him throwing away his beliefs I wouldn't have had as much issue. The mention of therapy and meeting of the pastor were glossed over. Perhaps these were done to avoid triggers, but anyone who had abuse or faith issues probably wouldn't have chosen to read this anyway. The not writing the hard stuff felt like a cop out.

Definite mixed feelings on this series. Book 1 was a solid 4, inching towards 5, but 2 and 3 were only 3 Stars for me.

Book 3 of this trilogy, has everything we could want.
We get to see how far the guys have come in their Daddy/boy relationship, the ups and downs, the tender care, and deeply passionate feeling our men have for each other.

Daddy Malcolm, 40, and sweet boy, Seth, 24, are more in love than ever, but we still see a couple of insecurities hanging on. We watch as their relationship is explored more intensely, with a much anticipated visit to Malcolm's parents. There is an upsetting meeting about Seth's horrible torturers, and then a fiery tragedy.

Seth steps up in a big way, to comfort Daddy Malcolm, and we almost feel him become more of a substantial as a partner.

Well done, Daddy/boy, TLC, and hot sexiness. You do need to have read books 1 & 2, because a lot has happened in these men's lives. No diaper play, just control for the boy's daily structure.
ENJOY !

Great wrap up to all of the issues that were outstanding. These guys were so adorable, I just really enjoyed their relationship so much!

Audio Review-4/1/21

How can you not adore anything that Nick J. Russo narrates? It's always incredible. This was the perfect ending to this series which I loved so much. There was so much packed into such a short book, but every loose string was tied into a bow here. I'm really going to miss Mal and Seth.

I was given a free audio copy from the author and the GRR arc team for review.

4 stars for the story
5 stars for the narration

Not a standalone. This was the 3rd and final book for this couple. I liked this book better than the second but not as much as the first. I absolutely love both the MCs and love them as a couple. They had great chemistry. I enjoyed reading their entire journey and glad they got their HEA. I found this book interesting the whole way through and thought that what was written was written well. The problem was that it could of easily have been twice as long. There are so many time laspses whether its 9 months later in the begining and then a week later, a month later, a year later. So much time that was vital and I would of liked to have heard about. At least more than we got. In this book we get 1 sexy scene at the very end that's it. There's lots of mentions of stuff done and how enhanced their kinks have become but all off page. The most disappointing was waiting this long for their HEA and then finding out the wedding is also off page. I expected so much more. ☹

This whole series has been really special, but this episode is extra adorable. I'm not going to spoil it, but if you're a fan of Malcolm and Seth you're going to love this one. Morticia Knight tempers the angst with tons of warm feels, and plenty of super hot romance.

It's a journey for these two men, but it's 100% worth it. A really wonderful story.

Audio for the whole series is beautifully performed by Nick J. Russo. Mr. Russo always does an amazing job with his younger characters, and his Seth is just perfect. Listening to this series in audio definitely makes the most of the dramatic moments, as well as the sweet ones.

I got partway through this audiobook for review and went searching for the writer. Then I begged, oh how I begged for the privilege, honor, and pleasure of listening to and reviewing the first two books of this series. Before one dives into the book, Morticia Knight warns readers of possible triggers in the book involving references to past child abuse. The relationship between daddy (Malcolm) and boy (Seth) is a loving one that focuses most on healing, though the erotic kinky stuff is there for enjoyment. By developing love and trust in Malcolm, Seth feels safe enough to explore new things that are delightful to the reader. The reading is handled beautifully by Nick J. Russo, one of the absolute best in the business. He voices each man in a definitive, meaningful way that never leaves the listener uncertain which character is speaking or thinking. But Morticia doesn't let us off easy as Malcolm and Seth encounter a challenge in their forever lives but it is resolved beautifully. I thank the author most sincerely for the sheer beauty of this series. She is DEFINITELY one to watch!

Enjoyed the last book in the Father series but in some places it seemed rushed. Don't get me wrong I love Morticia Knight's written but to me some of the story seemed to jump from one moment to another. All in all it was a sweet ending to Seth's HEA!

This was a good conclusion. Everything was wrapped up nicely. We get to see chapters closed in both characters lives, adjustments were made in order to begin the new chapter together!

This was actually really disappointing! I really loved the first two books, but this one seemed so rushed! There were a bunch of grammatical errors as well as HUGE gaps in time; jumped around a lot. I feel like so many scenes were missing and this book was a lot shorter than it should’ve been. I love that Seth and Malcolm ended up getting married and stuff, but it seemed like the author just threw a few HEA tropes together and called it a day.
Also...there was only like one sex scene in the entire book? It was a good one, but...really, one?

Buona lettura e a presto

Malcolm and Seth Forever (an audio review)

I was happy to start this book after just having finished the previous one. Seth and Malcolm were fresh in my mind. Their pain, their joy, their love…and compassion. Each man has tragedy in his past, and each man is starting to move forward into the future. Now they have each other, and that makes all the difference in the world.

But life is not yet all chocolates and roses. Seth’s past still hangs over him. He escaped a horrible conversion camp, but his father and the rest of the staff haven’t been adequately held to account…yet. My hope was that loose thread would be solved in this book and it was.

Things are finally looking like they’re getting into a nice rhythm when tragedy strikes. Nothing to do with Seth and Malcolm as a couple, but something that is going to disrupt their lives and challenge how they’ve perceived their relationship. The Daddy/boy dynamic is still there, but there are moments when Seth needs to be the one offering comfort. That’s if he’s up to the task.

I knew I was going to get a happy ending, but I didn’t correctly predict the direction it might take. And I have to say Malcolm’s parents were amazing. We should all be so lucky to be blessed with understanding and generous people in our lives.

I’m sad to see the series end, but ended perfectly so that was worth something. And I will say Nick J. Russo did an awesome job narrating the series. Worth a listen, to be sure.

I was disappointed with the third book. Seth and Malcom are dealing with the trial and other life issues. This book was honestly boring. I hate to put down a book, I always try to find the good stuff in a book and about the author but I was so disappointed after the first two. This might as well have been a clean book about kink, fade to black, close the door. Tons of talk leading up to the scenes and about the new kinks that they wanted to try but that was it. There wasn’t a sex scene until the final scene of the book and it was vanilla. In the previous two books the sex scenes are pretty vanilla too and there aren’t a lot of them, they focused more on Seth and his healing but this book didn’t do that either.

I was happy to see Seth and Malcolm get their HEA. This book did have some drama but it honestly all fell a little flat for me and I was bored. I didn’t feel their passion or chemistry. The only thing I can find that was good was that they got their HEA, that they figured out what they both wanted to do with the rest of their lives. But I felt cheated, not only with the sex scenes but we were told about events instead of getting to be there to witness them. I ended up skimming through parts and I rarely do that.

This is book three of a beautiful story of two men that are hurting, lost in life that find love, but it's not been an easy path. Malcomb thought he had his one true love, his forever boy but death took him long ago. he just goes through the motions of life until one day he finds Seth, broken and alone and something calls out to him. Getting Seth to trust him as a friend wasn't easy, but showing Seth he needed more was even harder after what Seth had been through in his short years.

Now they have been through a lot and are well established but there still are steps to showing Seth a normal life away from his evil father and church.

There are strings that get tied up quite beautifully in this book and I felt quite satisfied with the end. (however, I would always be open to seeing more Sethaand Malcomb as Seth gets older)

There is a bit of a tragic twist that makes the story even more sweet and romantic in the end. Great way to wrap it up!

So if you like heart-gripping romance, lots of feels, Daddy kink ( very well written), Hurt/comfort, a second chance at life, large age gaps, and an allover sweet romance with lots of heat this is for you!

Book 3 Fathers series, not a standalone.

Seth is still a bundle of nerves and doubt, but Daddy Malcolm is taking him to finally meet his parents.

Seth's trust of parents is still fragile, as his father and their church representatives are in prison awaiting trial. He has so much going on in that brain of his that his Daddy has to do daily spankings to keep him grounded, he has such a good daddy.

Things take a drastic turn on their relationship, and their livelihood will they get through this major incident and continue their daddy/boy relationship.

This book has an age gap, daddy/boy relationship, hurt/comfort and a Happy ever after.

I have to praise Nick J Russo for his brilliant narration of this book. I did have to speed up, but that's normal for me. I read at speed 1.40 on audible.

Super series!!!

This was great series to read, I’m so glad I slipped from my norm of strictly staying away from series books because this was soooo worth it. Malcom a.k.a. Daddy and Seth a.k.a. Daddy’s boy are such a dynamic couple. It’s not a instalove set but they fall pretty quickly for one another in book one, In the name of the Father, and reading their ups and downs while dealing with Seth’s emotional and physical abuse they are well built storyline that keeps you going from one chapter to the next, one book at a time. And of course it helped that I totally love Morticia Knight’s writings; she has become one of my faves so when I see her name I’m instantly intrigued to read whatever I come across. Don’t miss out on this series it’s a definite must read that you won’t want to put down.

This is an established couple age gap romance novella, featuring Seth and Malcolm, and is book three in the Father series.

Seth and Malcolm have built a loving, secure bond where Seth feels safe to explore new sides of himself and Malcolm finally has the partner he’s always needed. But when tragedy strikes, they must fight to rebuild their forever together.

This is the final book in the trilogy. This series was super sweet and a pretty fast read for me.

Things to expect in this book are:
Book 3 in series
Novella
MM romance
Slow burn
Established couple
Age gap (38/23)
Grumpy x sunshine
Hurt / Comfort
Trauma recovery
Possessive / devoted partner
Dates
Daddy / boy
Spicy times & dirty talk
C*ck cage
Sensory play
Found family

My least favourite of the series 🥲😓 nothing really happened or more accurately we rushed by all the interesting plot points, but then spend ages describing a dinner at a restaurant.

Also the epilogue was not my vibe 😂 I know that some people love it but the ideo to spend your honeymoon at Disneyland is so derpy to me, especially since they have money! Like you can go there whenever you want! Go somewhere like France, Italy or Japan! I understand that Seth had a shitty childhood and this could be a way to experience something cool (nothing wrong with loving/enjoying theme parks) but not for your honeymoon 😭 just thinking about the crowds makes me sad.

Now and Forever is the third book in the Father series and does a wonderful job concluding this touching and romantic series. This series should be read in order since each book builds off of the events in the previous books. Malcom and Seth are such a sweet couple who've been through so much. This third book introduced some new conflicts that test the characters, but everything comes together in the end. I really love the sweetness and tenderness of the relationship between Malcolm and Seth.  Their story made my heart feel so warm and fluffy.  This was a great ending to a beautiful series.

What a perfect way to end this series! Malcolm and Seth have such a beautiful relationship and I have loved watching it grow throughout the series and this is the perfect culmination for them. Seth has grown and flourished so much with Malcolm, it's wonderful to see the change and see him gain confidence. Malcolm is such a great Daddy and you can truly feel the love they have for one another. The narrator is fabulous and did a totally amazing job narrating this one. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

Seth and Malcom continue to be amazing characters that immerse you in their story immediately. Their emotional wounds are healing, their trust is leading them into deeper explorations of certain areas and thing seem to be working out in the way they and the reader expects. Then, there is a real plot surprise that I bet you won't see coming. It is wonderfully done. I love being surprised by a where a book goes. Nick J. Russo continues to be one of my favorite narrators. He brings everything you want to his performance here.

Balance is the Key in All Things

Even though he’d given Daddy so much power over his life, the dynamic couldn’t be more perfect. Never once had he felt as though he was being bullied or taken advantage of the way he’d been in his old life. Instead, he’d been shown more love and consideration than he ever could’ve hoped for. Guidance and care. Everything he’d ached for his entire life but had despaired of ever having.

I think the ending of this story was decent. I wished that there was a confrontation of Seth’s father because I believe that it would’ve been awesome for Seth to flaunt his happy relationship in front of his father as an F-You moment. I enjoyed reading the fluff, but I think maybe there could’ve been more added to the conclusion of the story. Overall I think it was a nice conclusion to this semi-short trilogy.
