The power of twin witches lies dormant as live unaware of their heritage and the prophecy that surrounds them.

Placed in year 2025, they live in a country which is being run by a dictator who according to me either is scared of magic & supernatural or knows about the prophecy and trying to stop it from happening. This is my thought and nothing in the book points to this way.

The subtle nuances that point towards magic, witch craft and more are simply amazing spread across the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and am eagerly waiting for book 2.

I willingly chose to review this book.

This is an exciting read, which had me cheering for the main character and her brother until the last page.

Eva and her family have moved to a new, small town, which means new high school and friends. What they don't expect is the new ruler of the small country, Orpheus, to start exercising an iron and tyrannic hand. As life grows more and more controlled, Eva discovers a secret. She's and her family are witches. But witchcraft is more than forbidden. Still, Eva can't deny who she is and isn't willing to let a tyrant define her life completely.

This book took me a little while to connect to. The first chapters move a little slow, but the world building/background had several large logic holes which were hard to see past. After the first third, the book takes an exciting turn for the better and becomes a read not to put down.

Eva and her family have a wonderful relationship. It's not always perfect...Eva and her brother are teens...but the love is impossible to ignore. As the plot gets going, the situation of the town and those around Eva make it hard not to sympathize with them. They never know what rules will be brought into effect next, and the danger they expose themselves to keeps the tension high.

There's romance (very high schooly) but not a simple one. There's a lot of room for twists and turns in the series for Eva and her relationships. It's hard to say who is really worth trusting and who not, which kept me guessing until the last page. And there are some sudden twists, which definitely make Eva's situation more dangerous as the story continues.

All in all, this was a fun, easy read, which young adult paranormal and witch fans are sure to enjoy.

I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed it enough to want to leave my honest thoughts.

Very interesting story to what looks to be a good series to come!

I must say I find all paranormal stories to be awesome and this one in particular having to do with witches is definitely interesting. The idea of twin witches and an unknown destiny really grabbed my attention. And a hopeless romance made my Heart break just a little as well. Reading this story made me wonder many things about the characters especially the bad guy who happens to be the mayor of this town. He really seems more than what he appears! His son however I am rooting so much for him and main character Eva! They are perfect for each other! I love how secrets have a way of coming to light no matter how hard one tries to hide it. And once it does come out your life is forever changed. In this case Eva and her Twin brother’s life goes upside down but they find a way to come to terms despite all the forces that make it so hard. I look forward to finding out what happens next in their story!

*Given an arc in exchange for an honest review*

What I liked
-Beautiful cover
-Multi-dimensional characters (ex: Eva's parents)
-After the beginning, the plot became quite gripping
-Great plot twists

What I wasn't the biggest fan of/what could've used some improvement
-Slow beginning

I recommend this book for all those who love witches and magic, and especially for those who love the special snowflake MC book trope done well.

ONE CHART TOPPING THRILL!!!
Spicy treat! Tanya produces one incredibly refreshing spin, with such fervor and style, thrusting this baby into a tizzy with unexpected results. A swirling throng of vexing circumstances and unsettling mishaps, propel those churning emotions into play, fusing this bad boy together flawlessly. Sparks fly as drama, intrigue, turmoil, dark suppression, tension and suspense spirals and perplexing situations along with a boatload of chaos while dodging sinister evil, you have one block busting adventure. Bumbling through the trials and tribulations, along with a horde of shocking twists and stunning turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The personalities are well matched and blended with enough flaws for diversity. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and colorful descriptions so rich and lively, they blend and flow fluidly. Fantastic job Tanya, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.

I was given a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I usually don't go for this kind of a story but I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked the paranormal story line with all the twists and turns. I enjoyed the characters interactions, they were believable and dynamic.

I was able to get through it speedily, mostly because I wanted to know more. I highly recommend this book and the future books in this series.

How do you write a review when you are at a loss for words?I had no idea what I was in for when I started this book. First few chapters were good, painting a picture, not completely devouring it but keeping a steady pace...THEN BAM- it was the end if the book, my heart was racing and breaking at the same time and I am completely in that "fiction fog". You know the fog. When you are forced out of a world that you have become so engrained in, like a pilot from a crashing plane courtesy of their injector seat.
Tayna Milne has easily just moved to the top of my author list with Leigh Bardugo.
**Spoiler** (in sorts) I do so hope Boy is who I think Boy is. Please make it so, Tanya, please make it so.

When I started reading “The Witch Born to Ignite” it was ok, but as I got further into the story it gripped me and didn’t let me go until the end. Tanya Milne has given us a well-written paranormal storyline with a rollercoaster build-up with the twists and turns are amazing. The characters are well developed and believable. This is an enjoyable story and I highly recommend this book and the future books in this series.

Imagine all the angst that goes with being a teenager in a new town and school, then add a dictatorial authority figure passing laws to control everyone’s actions and limit their freedom. Eva is a danger to herself, family, and friends, just when she is finding out who she really is…Definitely an interesting plot with some great twists.

An interesting read, the beginning I was like “meh” I could have quite happily put it down and not looked back.
A few chapters in and I was hooked, a modern take on witch persecution, turned out to be a good read, not a heavy book, and I look forward to seeing how Eva and Elijah, and Ezra all develop, oh and Jet, I have a feeling he will surprise us all.

Stories of witches have been as old as time. In Greek Mythology, there were witches who would decide the fate of others, would lure men to their death, and more. What has always been feared is the mystery that lay behind the concept of a witch. Do they have magical powers? Are they good? Are they evil? Do they see the future? Do they worship the dark lord? There is such a huge dark mass of mystery that surrounds witches, but simply put…the witch abides by laws of nature and sees the world with a different perspective, much like others who believe in another religion. Being a witch doesn’t make them good or evil, but rather the choices that they make determine their worth to the world. Milne portrays the beginning of a journey down a dark path for the main character and her family. This first installment will have young readers hooked right away.

Eva and her immediate family have moved to a new town, away from other family members. From what is at first unclear, Eva slowly begins to understand just how vital their separation from the family back home is. Especially once she finds out more about this new mayor and his ludicrous laws about banning witchcraft and the sort. Her twin brother Elijah fits right in…and falls for a girl from school who happens to also be a twin. Unfortunately, Eva doesn’t have that luxury. Still trying to find herself, Eva knows that something is missing. When she finds an old and dusty book from the cellar, it calls to her in ways that she cannot explain. One peek and her life will change forever, she just knows it. What she doesn’t expect is for it to cause her to change in ways beyond recognition that even her own family doesn’t know who she is and fears for her future. What will become of Eva once she knows the truth about why it is so dangerous to be herself?

Milne has an appealing story, filled with creativity, originality and fascinating characters. This story follows what you typically know about witches, but there is a little spin to the antagonist side that readers will find enjoyable. The characters are likeable, but not as well developed as desired; there are some aspects of the characters that are completely unclear as to the motive behind their actions. This story does have some spelling and grammatical errors, but not enough to hinder enjoyment of the novel. If you are a reader of young adult fantasy, you may be interested in this first installment. Since this is the first installment in the Inferno Series, the reader is able to jump right on in.

An electronic copy of this book was provided to Turning Another Page by Reedsy Discovery and in no way affects the honesty of this review. We provide a four-star rating to The Witch Born to Ignite by Tanya Milne.

This was a really good read! It started off a tad slow, but it really built up, and by the end I didn’t want to put it down! Set in 2025, a dictator has taken over the town that Eva and her family recently moved to. He starts making strange laws and very soon things get out of hand. I really liked Eva, she’s very smart and brave, and once she learns who she is, she remains true to herself. I like the light vs dark fight, and how Eva has a bit of both in her. I also found the love triangle in this book interesting because I like both the love interests. We’ll see what happens. There are plenty of twists and turns as the story continues which kept it to exciting! I definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys young adult paranormal books!

I received an ARC from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Good story. Bit of a slow start and it took me awhile to warm up to Eva who is a bit petulant and irresponsible. But then the story gets more intense and it’s hard to put down. The family is really in quite the mess and I’m not sure how they will get out. Looking forward to book 2.

Great Read

I enjoyed the story of a young woman learning the truth of her family’s relationship with witchcraft. It is a scary community she finds herself in when a powerful man controls the country and passes laws which restrict them all. She finds herself drawn in two different directions. The choices she makes sets herself on a dangerous path. The romance part of the story is interwoven was to the plot and reflects those difficult choices as well. It look forward to reading mire.

The Witch Born To Ignite is Book 1 in the Inferno series. This is a well-written tale with a storyline about twin witches, Eva and Elijah, who do not know they are witches until they find an old book and that they have an unknown destiny. The characters are very well developed and interesting. A little slow at first like a roller coaster going up the lift hill, but once it gets to the top all hell breaks loose. Our story becomes a fast paced, action packed thrill ride with magic, romance, twists, and turns. This is a phenomenal start to a new series which I highly recommend. I am looking forward to the next book to see what adventures Tanya Milne has in store for Eva and Elijah. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Wow !

A complex and stunning emotional ride through a future where we let the mistakes of the past repeat, this is what awaits you. Will love and wisdom overcome the power of pure evil and a thirst for power that almost destroyed this world once before??

Enjoyed the story line and the characters. Always enjoy books with magic and witches and of course some trials of learning one must do. Eva must learn about herself, what she can do, and what lengths will she go through to protect those she loves. All this while dealing with crazy mayor who has secrets of his own. Looking forward to the next book.

Can we say book smorgasbord. You have a evil tyrant, an even more loath-able minion. Not 1, not 2, but 3 possible knights. One love-able couple. Some questionable animals. And finally one bad a$$ witch.
This story is a dystopian, spell casting twist and turns mystery. I love it. But 2 seem to be even more promising.

Ok I'm gonna start off by saying this book was great. I was captivated by the story and I loved every second of it, I am excited to read the MCs adventures as they come.
It did seem a bit repetitive to me, as far as new laws being created almost daily, but other than that it was great!

The plot this book was high-intensity and fast paced. The conflict quickly picked up after the first chapter and does not let up until the very last page. I was impressed with how fast the book was to read. I was able to finish it within three hours in a coffee shop. At times it felt that the story was moving a bit too quick however, I was exhausted once I set down the book, since there were very few minutes to relax within the story. I would have loved to see more quiet moments between the action and have some aspects of the plot expanded and developed.

The main character of this book had the potential to be very enjoyable. She seemed like a typical teenage girl and it was refreshing to read a book where the main character reacts realistically to finding out she has special powers. Eva rebels and acts out in opposition to her parents secrets, as I could imagine I would have at that age. However, since the plot was so quick, it was difficult to get to know her well. Likewise, the secondary characters read flat since I wasn’t able to spend much time with them. The male love interests especially, seemed mostly one-sided.

I had a difficult time getting a handle on the setting of this book. I love reading books set in small, Stepford-esque towns, but I didn’t understand where or when this world was supposed to be. There are many references to the real world, including “Cape Cod” houses and similar terms. But, the idea of a tyrannical mayor existing who has so much power existing in our world is near impossible to wrap my head around. Perhaps slowing down the pace of the book would have left more time to explore the world than currently is available in the book.

The Witch Born To Ignite is the first book in the Inferno series by Tanya Milne. This book makes for a fun and quick weekend read, as I was able to finish it in just a few hours and found it difficult to put down once I got into the plot. However, with the quick pace, the character and world development were left lacking, in my opinion.
