Rate this book
Are you wanting more out of your small group?

Most of us start leading our group with very little direction or training. By the time we figure out what differentiates amazing groups from mediocre ones, many of us have given up and moved on. It doesn't have to be this way. In fact, it shouldn't be this way! Our groups should be bursting with life, depth, and the kind of authentic community Jesus modeled.

Robby Angle, President of Trueface, delivers a practical guide to starting or re-igniting your small group. Drawing from his years of leading group therapy as a Licensed Professional Counselor and leading group ministries at Andy Stanley's North Point Community Church, one of the largest churches in the nation, Angle combined his passion for equipping leaders to connect relationally to grow spiritually with practical handholds and clear guides on how to put these principles into practice in your own group.

The Cure for Groups unpacks the five Core Components that are consistently applied by amazing small group leaders and lead transformational groups. Follow the story of Stuart and Leslie as they travel through the Core Components that will change the way you

The Cure for Groups is the must-have guide for any new small group leader or existing leader who wants to take their group to the next level.

A guide to intentionality that will help you create real relationships and not be “that group”. A must for all current and future group leaders.

Awesome little book with some great ideas! If you’re looking for a short, easy to read book that focuses on practical things you can do as a small group leader, this book is for you. Definitely not exhaustive and can feel a little idealistic at times, but worth the read.

The first chapter caught my attention because it described all of the reasons that I don't love small groups. What I'm not sure about is whether there is a "cure" for these issues. Everything I read on small groups seems so idealistic. Maybe we should lower our expectations, or think differently about their purpose.

I've read so many small group books. So many. And I've gotten something out of most of them and found a few to be very helpful. But most books for small groups are either geared at systems or theological or theoretical and not super practical, especially for the individual group leader. I had no real guide or resources when I was first asked to lead a small group nearly twenty years ago. I found Bill Donahue's "Building a Church or Small Groups." While it lighted a vision within me of what could be from a broader church perspective, it didn't provide much guidance to where I was at the time, trying to figure out how to lead a group that was actually transformational and worth the time. I now work with leaders, helping them as they wrestle with the same types of things I did so many years ago; and while resources are better now, what I can say is that I haven't found a resource specifically for small group leaders that is so practical and transformational in how most new leaders think and the challenges they will face as Robby's new book. It is truly a fantastic resource. I highly recommend it!

This book isn’t a step by step manual. It’s not long. It’s also not hard to read. But I appreciated hearing a complete story of really key things that would help those who are older, run a principled small group. This book emphasized more about the group, then the leader in it, but as they communicated, all these concepts have been worked through, in an intensive ministry effort at North Point Church. I appreciated the journey they went through to pull out the best of what they learned, for us.

At 119 pages, this little book made a huge impact on my thinking for small groups ministry. It's very easy to read and balances the vision of small groups with the practical tools small group leaders desperately need. Literally, an "all in one" resource I'll be using to launch new small groups for years to come. I highly recommend this book!

This book was so spot-on with many of the pain points that happen in small group ministries! Really enjoyed this and am excited to put it into practice with my next group. If you’ve ever been a part of or are currently a part of a small group or Bible study, I highly recommend this book!

Great book on how to tangibly lead and shepherd a home group. I loved that the topic is approached as “life sucking accountability” vs “life-giving sharpening”. Would highly recommend for anyone in a small group or leading one!

This was a good short read on organizing people for a successful small group. Nothing new, but well-packaged.
