If.you're thinking about launching a crowdfunding project or just want to know more about the industry, I cannot recommend this book enough! I've worked with an agency that does C.F. Projects as well as worked on large non-CF launches and am blown away at how spot-on Mark's strategy is. Beyond the strategy, he dives into the nuts and bolts of what creators really need to be focusing on as well as tell you the exact tools you need for success. Even if your not launching a crowd funding project, this is just a good business book. If you're still thinking about it, just read it and decided for yourself. It's not super long and the language is easy to understand and implement.
Mark's book is a fantastic guide to the entire lifecycle of a crowdfunding campaign. He covers everything a creator needs to know for pre-launch, during the campaign, post-campaign, and the transition to eCommerce. He offers easy, concrete actions everyone can take and offers examples of successful past campaigns that used the same techniques. And the wealth of resources included throughout the book (and at the end) are invaluable! Highly recommend for anyone thinking about launching a crowdfunding campaign.
I'm a digital marketer and I learned just what I needed to feel comfortable jumping into crowdfunding myself. For me it was last-mile things, for someone new to marketing it will be revelation after revelation.
It had some useful information, but this was definitely not aimed at individual creators with limited funds, as a huge chunk of the book was focused on advertising for your crowdfunding campaign, and assumes people just have thousands of dollars to spend on said ads. 🙄
