Kayfa has a secret.

She ran away from her father and found a home in Melodi. Here she is just Kay, a curious young woman with a talent for the bow. In reality, she is much more. She has always known one day she would return.

The Lady gives her a magically enhanced book which can only be read by a direct descendent of Felana, the Mother of All. This book holds the secret to defeating the entity called Etevun.

Thousands of years in the past, Felana finds that Minkos has been keeping secrets. Secrets that could have a deadly effect on her People. Etevun has grown stronger. Felana must become the leader she was always meant to be. With the help of a novice mage and an ingenious hunter, they have a fighting chance.

Can the parallels in Felana’s story help Kayfa accept a long denied purpose, or will she allow her fear of the past determine her future?

I grew up in Central Illinois on 80 acres of woods and farmland. My Da was a factory worker and my Ma is a florist. I'm the oldest of 4 kids.

Currently, I live in SE Michigan with my husband, Adrian M Holmes, who is also an author. I have three wonderful stepkids, and three furkids named Rosie, Tilly, and Mylo.

I started writing Echoes in 1994 while in college, but that proto version was lost to the ether when my computer crashed and my backup discs were corrupted. After a period of mourning, I began again, and that version evolved into what you see today.

I have many things I can advise, but the main one is not to give up. If it burns in your heart, then you must pursue it.

Tetarul Parallel is book two to Emé Savage's The Genesis Chronicle.
Much like book one we follow two timelines, one set in the present (Kayfa) and one set in the past (Falena). You also get T'Gan and the Lady plus Minkos and the others from book one.
The Lady gives Kayfa a book that allows her to read about Falena's history. Emé has this fantastic way of weaving together two characters from vastly different worlds and making their struggles parallel in a way that is so fitting and helpful to each other.
Unlike book one this book is filled with a bit more mystery and adventure. There is a lot of movement and some parts are definitely darker thank book one.
Personally, I thought this book was a lot stronger and more dynamic than its predecessor. I thought Kayfa was a really fun, strong-minded character who was fun to get to know. I am very excited to see where their story continues.
This is definitely a setup book for the rest of the series but while I was reading it did not feel that way.

The Quest continues here in the Tetarul Parallel . At the end of the last book we were given a hint that feisty Kay was maybe something more than her raggamuffin appearance suggested, and here we get the full story! No spoilers tho, you have to read to find out. Full of danger and some humor, this was well-written and an enjoyable read. The budding romance between Kay and T'Gan is sweet. I also enjoyed the continued peeks into the past between feisty Felana and steadfast Minkos as they do their best to lead their people and survive a new terror that threatens to destroy them all. That final battle had me on the edge of my seat, but I have a feeling Ms. Savage is just getting started here, and I can't wait to see what will happen next!

Savage continues The Genesis Chronicles with Tetarul Parallel. The prologue snaps a scene of what will happen or could happen. What a futuristic snapshot it is!

Minkos may be the Hearer of the Voice; but it is Felana who steps up. Thousands of years in the past, Felana must be ready to become the leader she was always meant to be.

The story picks up where the Telling by the Lady left off. The first ones found a way to not only save themselves; but future generations as evil has found a way to grow and it’s all dependent upon one. Kayfa learns much about the history of the first people through the Tetarul left by The Lady. What can Falana tell or show her. How is Kayfa a even part of all this?

What I liked about Tetarul Parallel was that it gave me a snapshot of a future that may or may not be. I was left on the path with Kayfa, traveling along side her to wherever she had to go to uncover the truth. Kayfa must now choose her destiny and embrace who she really is if there is to be any kind of life to have. A runaway child must now make ready to fulfill a destiny that has been written for her eons ago.

There is much to be digested in this book. New allies, new friends and old enemies. Savage thrives in the growth of all the characters, both old and new, slowly building the crescendo until it just rolls and flows over you. Embrace who you are.

Tetarul Parallel of The Genesis Chronicles is the second book in this series and it did not disappoint. The author stays with two storylines and continues to weave them together with purpose. The adventures continue, with secrets being held that burden the keeper and could have devastating effects on everyone. There is so much more, but I wish to leave it to the reader, and only say these stories are special, and not to be missed.

A wonderful follow up to the first book to the series, Echos of the Gidat. Emé continues to create a rich and vibrant world of intrigue, suspense and fantasy.

The stand out in her writing for me is her character development. I believe in them. I emote with them. The Lady remains my favourite!

The story itself is very satisfying, though I must confess the ending has left me crying out for more!

Cannot wait for the third instalment of this series - I will be ready and waiting to read!
