So I’m officially dead. An all-you-can-eat worm food buffet. Only I’m not. Just between you and me, I’m alive and on the run. New questions. New dangers. New scars that cut more than skin deep.
First, there’s my new travel companion. A borderline psychopath I suspect will try and kill me any moment. Second, the fact that I’m hated (totally unfairly) all over the internet. Third, that evil empire of spies and assassins known as JPAC. They’re out there. Planning something big. Something terrible that puts us all eyeballs deep in trouble..
So do I stay low and keep running? Risk everything and fight back?
Whatever I do next, it’s going to determine the rest of my (potentially very short) life. It could decide your fate too.
So strap yourself in and brace both butt cheeks. Whatever happens, it’s gonna get messy.
After the action-packed events of Truly Deadly, join Lorna Walker for the second adventure in the series. The stakes are higher. The enemies are fiercer. And it's not just Lorna's life on the line, but hundreds, maybe thousands...
Author note: Recommended for age 16+. Contains violent action. Not for the faint-hearted. Read book 1 first for the best experience.
Rob has never been in a car chase, a gun battle or a fight to the death. But he does come armed with a vivid imagination. And he’s not afraid to use it.
Originally a copywriter in the shadowy world of advertising, Rob went rogue in 2016 and started to publish books under the fiendishly inventive pseudonym of… Rob Aspinall.
He currently lives in Manchester, UK, where he writes fast, funny thrillers with an original twist. Whether it’s spies, mobsters, serial killers or trained killers, Rob loads all of his books with action, humour and heart-thumping thrills.
You can find his novels in ebook, audiobook and paperback formats.

What’s it like being an author?
It’s fantastic. I get to make up stories for a living and share them with my wonderful readers. There’s a lot more to it than that, of course, with all the marketing and promotion you need to do. You have to invest a lot of time, money and energy into being an author. And I don’t always feel like writing. But it’s like any other career. There are things you love and things you don’t, but it’s well worth it.
What’s the most important thing to remember when writing a book?
You’re not writing the book for yourself. You’re writing it for someone else. So it has to make sense to the reader. And above all, it has to be entertaining. I challenge myself to make every book more engrossing, entertaining and memorable than the last. I guess this kind of thinking comes from my years working as an advertising copywriter – if I had a slogan, it would be ‘Start with the reader and work backwards’, which is a shameless rip-off of Amazon’s motto.
How would you describe your writing style?
Other than trying to keep my writing style simple and accessible, I’d describe my style more in storytelling terms. The exact way of writing may change depending on the book, the character and who’s doing the narrating. But regardless of genre, series or novel, I make sure I stick to some basic storytelling principles – that is has to be simple, gripping, fun on some level and always moving at a decent pace. My only aim is to entertain or inspire the reader at all times—not to fill the book with flowery prose or get to a certain number of words.
Do you ever get ‘writer’s block’?
I only think you get writer’s block when you start worrying about it. In fact, I would say writer’s block is more like writer’s lag. There’s sometimes a lag time between staring at the screen or page and the answer coming to you. And it’s because the ideas, stories and words don’t come from the conscious mind. The subconscious mind comes up with them and feeds them to you. But when you get uptight and start worrying, it’s easy to block the subconscious mind from serving up the ideas.
The best thing you can do is relax and let the answers come. If I’m really getting nowhere with an idea, a plot or a particular scene or sentence, I’ll skip onto the next one. Or I’ll take a short break and do something totally unrelated to writing.
It's something I've often done while working in creative advertising, coming up with campaign ideas and slogans. But I often repeat the trick when I’m coming up with ideas for books.
Not my type of book at all. Yuck. I read it as part of a challenge on Goodreads. If you like a lot of violence and silly writing then this might be for you.
All the passengers exited the U-Bahn tram in a very hurried manner. Agnes Holgersson (14, narrator) followed in hot pursuit after Inge. A JPAC man with a gun was about to end my life. Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. Clarence (driver) said we had reached our destination. Inge (Aid International) started administering STI immunization shots to those infected by the virus.
Chez Philippe (Aid International, Joint Peace Alliance Committee JPAC assassin, Type A) was looking at the others in the line. Katerina Alaverdy (aka) looked on. Gold Teeth (aka) 1 of the Beret guards wanted to know what we were doing? General Mobutu had invited all of us to dinner. He also wanted the vaccine. What were their plans for him, & the guards? Magda (60+, Chez’s housekeeper, Overseer) was introduced to Jess (aka Katerina, niece).
What was Dr. Belinsky (bioweapons specialist) up to?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. It was just OK for me, so I will rate it at 4/5 stars.

My goodness I absolutely hate a cliffhanger! So yeah if you're considering reading this, expect it. Still good though. Still a snarky quip filled Lorna. She's still loving the Poo references. I guess my only question is, What exactly does Lorna and by association Mr. Aspinall consider "Gangsta Rap"? The dislike is real across books 1 and 2. Is it Lady Leshurr or Snoop Dogg? Just a question, so I can visualize something in my head while I read those parts. Going for book 3 next.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review This is the second book in the series and it was just as wide open, intense, full of action as the first. There still was the element if a dry ironic wit, but the reader can see that the characters are developing and a clear goal has been determined. A very good read.
This story was thrilling and Suspenseful from beginning to end. It definitely upped the value of this series. It is by far better than the first two books . I am glad I bought the series
Fantastic 2nd book in the Truly Deadly series. Loved the first, love the second! Can't wait to read the rest (but I guess as the narrator, I am biased). Fast paced, action-packed, such fun. 5*
