North Pointe is the kind of town where privilege thrives and everyone gets to have a piece of the American Dream. The town is also known for the North Pointe Academy, a world-class private school where children are all but guaranteed to be admitted into the Ivy League school of their choice. Dr Grace Philips and her family fit perfectly in this setting, since if all goes as planned, she will be promoted to her dream-job and her daughter Hazel will graduate at the top of her class. The Philips seem to have everything they ever wished for, but life always comes crashing down when you least expect it. And this is exactly what happens during a night that none of them will ever forget...
On this horrible night, Grace receives a chilling phone call. Someone has been found dead in her own home. To add to the shock, it appears that this happened during a party her daughter threw without permission that got out of control. The party quickly turns into a crime scene, and it is clear that it is a murder case with Hazel's former best friend as the victim. The police immediately fixate on Hazel, having already jumped to the obvious conclusion that she's the killer. Things take a turn for the worse when damning evidence seems to truly incriminate her. With the serious accusations threatening her daughter's bright future, how could Grace resist from taking matters into her own hands?
That's when she suddenly finds herself on the other side of the social spectrum and sees the dark side of North Pointe. What follows is a desperate chase to find the true murderer while trying to protect her daughter from the scathing indictments of their community. Her investigation will take her from Hazel's classmates to powerful residents who seem to have the police on their payroll, while shocking secrets are revealed everywhere she looks. Will Grace manage to expose the truth before it's too late? Or will Hazel's bright future end before it even had a chance to begin?
"Murder as a Party Crasher" is an intriguing cozy mystery novel of approximately 60,000 words. No cliffhangers, just pure captivating mystery.

Cynthia Raye has you on the edge of your seat with this story of all sorts of different characters in a town that has not a thing wrong until a teenager decides to throw a party without permission as All teenagers do when mom and dad are gone. Not like this,in this story you have police, detectives, parties and who did this murder? You will really enjoy this story cause you really don't know what will come next. Fantastic writing and story plot will keep you reading to find out, what happened, why and who did this?. I'm not telling you cause if I do them you are missing a really great story!
Doctor Grace Philips, her husband, and daughter live an ideal life In the high toned community of North Pointe, a place where the Stepford wives would fit right in. All of the perfect families have conforming children; no one gets out of step.
No, that cannot be true, because if it were, Grace's daughter's best friend wouldn't have wound up murdered in Grace's pool. Read and watch this forensic medical examiner take on the police and the community to prove her daughter's innocence.
You have to love the mom and dad who come out swinging for their child. The parent's who never doubt their child's innocence. Shades of Perry Mason, Quincey, and Dr. Mark Sloan; this book needs to be a movie!
This was a first for me by this author. It will not be the last.
I could not put it down, it had me sitting on the edge of the seat. I was walking this road with the characters. The small town relationship, are often just as portrayed, you can so easily topple off.
There was so many twists, dangers, turns, deception and lies. This book is just such a good read.
An interesting who done it. This was an interesting who done it everything points to Hazel now it appears to up to Grace her mother to find out the answers. This fast-paced mystery was a splendid well-written piece that will keep the reader hopping. The author has crafted some awesome twists and with all the lies and deceptions Grace does not know who to trust. It was an outstanding piece that I highly recommend.
So many possible suspects, except for the one the police has targeted. For a parent this book is every parent’s nightmare, both the victim’s and the suspect’s. Cynthia Raye puts a spotlight on a “perfect” school, perfect children, “perfect” parents and “perfect” marriages while keeping it from being dark and morose. Grace becomes my hero in that she recognizes her faults and works to correct them. I totally enjoyed this book.
Piper and Hazel are best friends but they had an argument and were not as close as they had been. Then Piper brings a bunch of kids to Hazel's house to party. They trash the house and Piper ends up dead in the pool. Grace Hazel's mom clears her and then goes on to find the murderer. Very good characters good story line
'Having a few friends over' takes on a whole new meaning when your friend brings party-crashers. The house gets destroyed and a lot of excitement takes place. Nothing like getting a call and having your daughter say I need you to come home NOW! And when you get there, you find a body in the swimming pool. Not a good day! The ending will surprise you!!
Boring boring story and I had to skip a few chapters to get to the end of the book. Lets be honest , I skipped through only half of the chapters at the time. I know that her mother, the doctor was asking questions from teenagers expecting to them to answer honestly. Thanks🙂🙂
A well written edge of your seat read. It has so much in it. Excitement, drama, danger, twists and turns, emotional situations and so much more. I couldn't put it down it was so much fun to read. I recommend it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
I enjoy reading just about any story by this author. Actually I don't remember ever not enjoying a story by her. I recommend this author to any reader looking for an excellent read.
This is my first read for this author. Lots of action. Lots of insight into family and friendships. Held my interest throughout. I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a very good story about a young teenage girl getting killed and placed in the swimming pool of a house and the murder weapon placed in the daughter s room so Dr Phillips helps to clear her daughter
What a story! So many twists and turns it kept me reading anxiously. Rich parents and their kids along with their preprogrammed lives had something happen that shook them up. Kudos to Grace for helping to get it all straightened out. A must read
An intriguing story of affluent families in a wealthy community. Lots of plot twists and engaging characters. Be sure to read the extended epilogue. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed this cozy murder mystery. It was well written. There were some editing issues but they did not take away from the story so I still gave it 5 stars.
The core mystery is okay, but the presentation did not work for me. The beginning felt like an info dump and turned me off since it was clear the setup contradicted human nature. The mystery was interesting enough and her sleuthing, but the writing and characters tended to annoy me.
