Small Town Protectors #12
That Hot Night
Janey the goody-two-shoes. That’s me. The girl most likely to volunteer for…well, everything. And that’s how I ended up in my birthday suit in a hotel room with the guy most likely to…never commit. Rafe was Gorgeous. Kind. Heroic. He was also highly allergic to commitment. So, of course that’s exactly who I went and fell for. Not just a little bit either, no siree! All head over heels and everything. Always with her face hidden behind a camera. Until one hot night, when I finally saw her. In a red dress. She hypnotized me. Mesmerized me. Opened my eyes to Janey, the woman. And now that I’ve had a taste of her, nothing will ever be the same. Not me. And certainly not us. ♥Each story in the Small Town Protectors Series is a steamy STANDALONE romance with a feel-good HEA.

Mistakes everywhere
This could be such a cute short story. However, about twenty percent of the way in the spelling, grammer and editing mistakes were so frequent that I almost put it down. I can understand a couple of mistakes in a cheap book but a minimum of every other page is unacceptable. I had to reread quite a few sentences because words were added or missing, periods left out and other punctuation was wrong. On top of all of the mistakes, it appeared the author was desperately trying to get the book under a certain number of pages or was too lazy to write. In the same paragraph, from one sentence to the next, months would pass and suddenly you're in a completely different scene than what you were just reading. The flow of the story was awful. Also, the character dialogue was choppy and confusing. I'm quite certain some character names were actually switched around a few times.
The author did attempt to put some effort into the relationship between the two main characters, trying to make it seem realistic. This was the only reason I pushed through the book since everything else was a hot mess being thrown together on a whim.
If this book went back to editing and really got a makeover, I would give it three stars. If the author went back and rewrote it and added more life and details to it then it could totally be five stars.
It's really a cute story but the writing and editing failed.

Janey is the photographer in charge of the home town Heros calendar.
Rafe is the fire chief good looking and popular with the women.
Both out of town for conferences they bump into each other. A few drinks later has them exploring the chemistry.
The town ladies are determined to set him up, meddling too much this time
Nice ending to the series

We have our final story in the Hometown Heroes Series in Tulip. Janey is the photographer and brains behind the Hometown Heroes Calendar and she gets to find her journey with the last Hero for the calendar, Rafe the Fire Chief.
When Janey finds herself in Santa Fe for a convention she also finds Rafe’s strong chest when leaving the elevator and it starts their journey. When they are in the same bar the last night Rafe sees Janey and they end up spending the night together, giving him her 1st time and Janey knows Rafe is a one night guy so she leaves before he wakes the next morning, leaving a part of her heart with him. When back in Tulip Rafe does not make any moves to speak or see Janey so she does the best she can to move on from him. When Janey knows she needs to complete the calendar she needs to be professional and get the shots of Rafe and be done with it. Only problem with that is the matchmakers have both Janey and Rafe in sight and do what they do best, meddling. When these two finally talk about their one special night Janey ends up telling Rafe the truth and they agree to keep seeing one another for causal hook ups and Rafe is one charming man that Janey gets lost and when she over hears the matchmakers and who they bring around for Rafe, Janey becomes lost and knows her heart is broken. Rafe needs to decide how to get Janey to believe in him and see what he sees about her being a special, caring and loving woman. I absolutely loved how Janey took photos of the real work of all types of heroes from Tulip and gives everyone them a tribute. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I like this book about a small town, the hot fire chief and the virgin who hides behind her camera for a long time so as not to stand out. Her insecurity about her personality forces her to do so.
The main and the secondary characters are well-developed. It's interesting seeing how the secondary characters support Janey or Rafe because they knew how stubborn those two can be. The chemistry between the two of them is hot and sizzling.
Janey thinks the one-night stand away from the hometown is all Rafe is willing to give. With this view, however, it is far off, as it later turns out - much, much later. The coppers of the city make Janey doubt herself even more and bring a herd of "Barbies" into town so that Rafe can/should choose a wife that suits him.
Everything ends well in a HEA for the two, unfortunately the book ends right after the 3 words, which I find very unfortunate. In my humble opinion, a good epilogue would add the finishing touches.

Thank You For Your Service!
To all first responders, Thank you. This series from Ms. Sullivan was fun, emotional, steamy and all through the series we reconnected with the small town residents. Rafe was the final town hero that was recruited to be part of a calendar to help the town. All 12 heroes became targets for the meddling matchmakers and although not happy with their meddling to begin with were enjoying their happy ever afters because of them. Rafe's story took a surprise turn. Don't worry.... you definitely get a happy ending! No cheating or cliffhanger and you get some steamy intimacy scenes too. Overall quality of writing was good. Some proofreading glitches though. I'm glad I read this during COVID19. It really makes one appreciate all our heroes! From the obvious to the ones behind the scenes putting their lives on the line so you and I stay safe and healthy ❣️. Thank you.

I've been looking forward to Rafe & Janey's story, in this book I got to know them better and see a side to them that I hadn't seen before. I liked watching them navigate their relationships and their character development as they went on that journey together. I was sad when it ended as I have enjoyed reading this series, I would have liked an epilogue to see them further down the line, my reasons for this is that as the series has gone on I have been able to see the other couples' stories continue and I would have liked to have seen that for Rafe and Janey too.
For me this has been a solid series of good writing, plenty of romance, great chemistry and wonderful characters. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.

Very Hot Indeed
The Hometown Heroes series comes to an end with Rafe and Janey’s story and it’s really good.
Rafe is almost legendary for his ability to out eat anyone and to avoid anything but one night stands. Janey is known as the photographer in charge of the Hometown Heroes calendar and a sweet if sometimes pushy young woman. On the surface, these two would seem unsuited. But one hot night when they both end up out of town, and in the same venue for their respective conferences, leads to more hot nights back in Tulip. The town matchmakers are bound and determined to match up the last of the heroes, but will they be a help or a hindrance? A wonderful end to a great series!

Convincing her of his change
Good romance, very tender but also quite hot about two people who have known each other for a long time, but have never given up a try to date because of the preconceived ideas that they have for each other, or in their relationships in general. The story is predictable, but well written and pretty cute.
Janey and Rafe find themselves at two different conventions but in the same place. They have known each other for a long time, but Janey believes he does not want a long relationship, and Rafe only seeks relationships outside of their hometown. However what happens during the night will change everything for Rafe, still, it is necessary that he succeeds in convincing Janey, that he has changed.

This is the grand finale of our Hometown Heroes series. Rafe and Janey's story is most heartwarming finale you can expect. Janey is the photographer responsible for the calendar and while in a convention out of town she meets Rafe who is at a firefighter's convention at the same as Janey. They had one night of passion where she up and left in the morning without a word. Meanwhile, back in Tulip she stays away from Rafe because she knows she is not his type and there is no future with him. BUt what she doesn't know is that he can't keep thinking about hsi night with Janey, This is a steamy story full of funny situations that will entertain you from the beginning to the end. I honestly volunteered to review this story.

This is the final story in this fantastic series. Janey who has been pestering the Hometown Heroes throughout each story finally falls for hot Fire Chief, Rafe. In previous stories I found Janey quite annoying but how wrong I was when in this story you see a more vulnerable side to her. As for Rafe, he is so hot, my Kindle was burning. Add the ever loveable meddling matchmakers plus other characters from previous stories in the series and this was a fitting finale. I just want to move to Tulip and buy one of the Hometown Heroes calendars! Read an ARC for an honest review.

Janey, the architect of the Hometown Heroes gets her happy ending. She is the one everyone always tries to avoid when they see her coming with her camera, but they always end up doing as she wishes. She spends her time helping others and putting her needs last. Rafe is the hot and sexy Fire Chief with commitment issues. One night together changes his point of view on his life. This is a fitting way for the author to wrap up this series by giving Janey the most sought after bachelor as her prize. It has been a fun series with exciting characters and great storylines.

Meh.
So here’s the thing. I like the characters themselves and think they’re a great couple. I HATE that ALL THE SIDECHARACTERS are pushy assholes and the H and h NEVER tell them off. I’m sorry, but it’s complete crap. Every single book in this series, the H and h allow themselves to be pushed around and bullied and it’s so FRUSTRATING. I keep coming back, but every time I wish I didn’t. I gave 3 stars because the story was well written, and good except when other people are involved. 😒

Janey is the Mayor of Tulip's goddaughter and photographer/Creator of Hometown Heroes calendar. She has been pushy and she gets the pictures she needs, but it's not until Janey and Rafe go to a Firefighters Convention in Santa Fe that they feel the passion between them. Janey knows that Rafe is not a commitment guy, so she is going to try and avoid him, but maybe Rafe doesn't want to be avoided by her. Will he let her escape? Is he ready to settle down now? I loved Rafe and Janey's romance, and their banter and spark.

Rafe is the last of the hometown heroes to find his match. He just didn't suspect it would be Janey, the photographer and the one who had the idea for the calendar. They like a few of the other couples try to keep it secret but nothing stays a secret in Tulip. The calendar is complete and they succeeded in raising the money to fix the statue. The matchmakers meddled and nearly ruin Rafe and Janey's relationship but there was a HEA. This is a great series.

A definite reread.
Omg yes been hoping Janey would get a story.... I fell in love with this meddling small town. It has been great to explore more of Janey's character. Especially as she is in all the books in the series. This couple had me giggling, rolling my eyes at how oblivious they were at times. I will be enjoying rereading this book but the whole series many times. It's always bitter sweet reaching the last book in a favourite series.

Final hometown hero finds his match
Rave and Janey are the final couple who get matched by the ladies in Tulip, Texas. The calendar is finally finished and they raise enough money to restore the statue. The matchmakers almost screw up with this one as they keep parading other women I. Front of Rafe while Janey is around making her think she isn’t good enough for him. They work it out in the end but it was a close one.

That Hot Night!
One more Hometown Hero bites the dust. Rafe and Janey's story was unique. Although they had known each other growing up but they didn't notice each other until they were out of town. I was surprised by Janey's lack of confidence. Now I really would like to know who was taking the pictures. And I don't think the matchmakers were that useful to the relationships that happened, they just meddled a lot.

We are back in Tulip with our last small town hero. Janeys the photographer who came up with the idea of the calendar for the home town hero’s. The money is needed to repair a statue of the founder of Tulip. Rafe is captain of the fire department. He’s sexy and know for one nights, until he sees Janey in a red dress. Now he has to see if he can convince her he wants more. The match makers had it a little wrong this time.

The matchmakers in the town of Tulip are at it again and this time Rafe and Janey are in their crosshairs. When you look at them separately they do not match up or have anything in common but one night the sparks ignite sending their hearts up in flames. Do they have what it takes to make it to a happily ever after? This story will draw you in right from the start cheering on Rafe and Janey! I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Hottie Heros
OH MY GOSH!
Miss Sullivan, you are the bee's knees!
This series was just awesome and I plan on reading it again now that all the books are out!
The ups and downs of each couple finding themselves, each other and what made them an us was worth the wait for each book.

Headstrong
I really liked this story. Rafe and Janey were the perfect couple to get me out of my book funk. This would have been a 4 star read but there were A LOT of typos which.
I felt like part of the story line where the meddling women were actually trying to put Rafe and Janey together from the beginning would come out but to my surprise no.

Not Just A Pretty Face
Rafe was more than his good looks but some people had a difficult time getting past them-including Janey. The ride to figure it out is a sweet love story with some not-so-innocent meddling from local matchmakers. Love this author and her small-town love series.

Frenemies to Lovers
This is an okay read; part of the Tulip, Texas Hometown Heroes series. Honestly, I got a little bored after a while. The hero and heroine were so resistant to one another, even after everyone around them could tell that there was something there between them, and the drama at the end seemed contrived.

Bitter Sweet
I loved every story involved in the Hometown Hero calendar. I’m sad to see it end but it has been one heck of a ride.
This story is super hot with Rafe falling the hardest of them all. Janey is bossy and stubborn and sweet. What a great combination. I received an advanced copy for my honest and voluntary review.

Great Romance
After reading about Jackson and Reese before That Hot Night, I was anxious if Fire Chief, Rafe, would find his true love. Janey was stubborn but lucky to have support from her friends. Stubborn can lose but love and persistence can win at the game of love. This was a delight. Tulip must be a fun place to live. It's full of good people.

Not my favorite
I’ve read all the Hometown Hero’s/Tulip series. The first few were cute but a few of them just felt forced. This final book was the worst. It felt rushed, like it all just needed to be over. The first few chapters were just off...sort of odd and out of character. I’m sad this series ended on a bad note.

Janey is a girl that likes to hind in the background behind her camera.
Rafe is the towns fire chief that enjoys being the centre of attention.
When Rafe starts to want to spend time together she figured that they could have their fun then go their separate ways as there is no way a guy like him could ever love a girl like her.

This was the best book! I felt so sorry for Janey at times. And then I felt so sorry for Rafe! They have known each other their entire lives but then one night they connected. And things changed. Excellent book! Loved it!

Embers to flames
Rafe is a no commitment type of guy and Janey is a virgin. One night of passion and they move into a casual thing. But the heart becomes involved, doubts and insecurities surface and a circumstances that were started with good intentions nearly cost them it all.

Rage is known as a player. Janey photographer for the hometown heroes calendar is a bit of a mess. So when she and Rafe hit it off she has doubts about it lasting. I enjoyed this HEA book with some very fun characters.
