I’d consider this a helpful library resource: not too detailed but detailed enough to understand the main tenements of the most common religions.

I re-read this out of a necessity because I was reading another book about a multitude of religions that didn't do a good job of explaining it. This book gives a great overview of all of the world's faiths as well as places to go to get more in depth.

3-3.5 stars. An awesome beginners guide, but I was expecting something a little more in depth.

Some of the book also felt like opinions on the various religions instead of facts about them.

I wish I had the space to explain what I learned from this book! It is written in a manor that made it very easy to understand without making me feel like a child, while covering religions I had never even heard of before reading it. It, of course, also includes those that are more commonly heard of.

Great reference book. A Religion 101 if you will. Gives the reader a high level overview of many of the world's religions. Explains their major tenants, rites, rituals and often times the different sects within. My copy is highlighted and worn. I refer to it oftern

Beginner's guide. Felt like many things were not true facts, but more opinions.
