You are quite possibly the most infuriating, annoying and grumpy man I've ever met in my life. I know you think that you're God's gift to women, but I have a secret to let you in on: you're not. You're God's gift to yourself. Get over your wanna-be cool surfer self and grow up. I thought it was time that someone addressed your big head and told you straight to your face that you're not all that. Just because you have an Ivy league education doesn't mean you're the smartest man in the world. In fact, I'm not even sure if you would have gotten in if you didn't have rich parents. Yes, I went there. Every woman doesn't want to sleep with you and I'm sure you're not even good in bed. And I'm someone that would know.

DNF 70*% should of stopped at 1%

Where to start? If I could give this book negative 5 ⭐️‘s I absolutely would. I always try to find something I like about a book and I hate leaving negative reviews but this book is just so awful that I want to prevent others from ripping their hair out or wanting to poke themselves in the eyes.

I honestly waited a good month before writing this, so I could actually calm down and not just rant endlessly.

SPOILERS:

Tate is a privileged white man who’s parents are basically rabid Trumpsters, who he fails to call out on their racism. He takes Jane, a woman of color to visit them, not once does he prepare or warn her of their vileness. How does he take revenge on them when they do treat her like garbage? He wants her to shag him in their bed. Yeah, you read that right. Jane lost her virginity the night before and now he wants her to do this?! I stopped right then and there, the DNF was long coming but at that point I wanted to throw my phone at the wall.

A friend recommended this book, I’m honestly questioning our friendship.

I really disliked this book. I considered giving up pretty early on because of how much I hated the hero but I kept going. It never got better. Both MCs were horrible. Who plays those weird note writing games with their boss? No one! I don't care if you ARE attracted to him. He was disgusting. Even when he was super into her, he still almost had sex with someone else, like two seconds after she walked away from him. He was into doing her in front of other people and sharing her. The whole thing did not scream love to me. At least not the kind that I enjoy reading about. If you hate 'playboys' and believe me, this guy is worse than a playboy because he only ever talks about sex and tries to sleep with anything that moves and constantly talks about how good he is at it, this stay far far far far away from this book. I kinda want to set it on fire.

Loved this read. This book had me laughing, sighing and swooning. Loved Jane and Tate. We got to meet them in To the Rude Guy in Apartment 5 and I have been waiting for their story since then. They were so good together. The chemistry and attraction between them was so hot and intense. Jane started writing notes to Tate because she thought he needed to be knocked down a peg or two. Tate was puzzled at first who was sending the notes. He thought it could be Jane but he wasn’t so sure. Once he figured it out, he was happy it as her. It was so much fun watching the bantering between them and when they finally get together, it was so awesome to watch. I can’t wait until Millie and Marco’s story.

I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This book just didn't do it for me. Tate was your typical bad boy/womanizer but he seemed over the top. Plus I didn't care much for Jan either. Normally I give 2 stars for a happy ending but even in their epilogue they just didn't seem right to me.

Last month I happen to come across the three books in the Inappropriate Bachelor Series on Booksprout and I was so excited that I binged all three back to back. Well, as much as one can binge read when also being a blogger LOL So it took about four weeks …

To The Rude Guy in Apartment Five: This story was actually quite cute but a while but then #twitchy. There are situations that are revealed from the past that have me all kinds of confused on how they weren’t a bigger issue than how they were written. Without giving away the plot of the story, their past is convoluted and our heroine just kinda shrugs it off way too quickly and there’s a forgive/forget that comes barreling at us from out of nowhere. While I’m not happy with how the story ended, getting there was mostly entertaining so 3 Stars overall.

To My Arrogant Boss: ahhhhh, so much more goodness than book 1 lol Although to be fair, I did like the first book but I love this one! I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Tate and Jane. Their meet-cute was hilarious and it laid a foundation to fantastic shenanigans. Tate is over-the-top arrogant, and I loved it. It’s exactly what this story needed. Jane was his perfect match in every possible way! I loved the friendship between the women and how it’s the center of this series. This is beginning to be a series I won’t want to end; I can feel! 4.5 Stars overall!!

To My First And Last One Night Stand: aaaaaand we’re back to #twitchy LOL Here’s the thing, there is a fine line between arrogant and a$$hole. Our hero walked that line thru this entire book and sometimes fell flat on his face on the a$$hole side LOL I’m not saying I disliked this book because of it, but it certainly didn’t help in me liking it either. The story-line itself is entertaining and actually well written but it’s one of those book where you don’t know if you like it or not so you just keep reading. That happens more often than I care to admit LOL 3 Stars overall!

One last thing. I know it sounds/ reads like my overall enjoyment of this series was lacking, but it actually was not. The key word here is overall. Now that I got to read all three in a short period of time I feel comfortable saying that they should be read as a continual series, meaning they are really not standalones. This series revolves around a group of women who are good friends. Their stories are interconnected. Your best bet is to read them all or none. Just my opinion.

Unfortunately I was really disappointed in this book. I haven't read a JS Cooper book probably for around 4-5 years, I remember really enjoying her previous books, and the title hooked me as I love a good letter/email/text exchange subplot.

This book felt like it was written by a new author, the words didn't flow, it was littered with spelling mistakes, the story felt rushed and hurried in lots of key moments, especially as she'd held on to virginity for so long and gave it up within seconds, then the next time totally unbelievable and unrealistic. Could have have such promise but no substance.

Tate wasn't arrogant Tate was an absolute dickhead, there was nothing sexy arrogant that came out of his mouth, just utter rubbish, I didn't find his character sexy, witty or even remotely enjoyable, and the race subplot again all rushed and not very thought out.

I've never left a one star review with text even when I was a blogger, but this book was beyond disappointing, and the editing seriously needs to be looked at.

I usually love JS Cooper books but Tate has no redeeming qualities for me. I don’t think he even respected Jane. His parents are racist to her and he defends them?!?! The f? He never apologized for the way they first met. He treated her like a sex symbol at work and the end just had me scratching my head because it was abrupt AF.
So basically I hate this book because Tate is an asshole with rascist tendencies with no redemption arc and Jane is a weak girl who just took it and didn’t demand for more.

Yesss! J.S. Cooper is giving me everything. She's absolutely killing it. Jane and Tate, these characters are so much fun. The arrogance, the fiery attitude, sassiness, intelligence, grumpy, caring, sexiness between them both keeps me oh so interested. The banter was enjoyable, the chemistry was crazy hot. I love this series so much. 5 star for sure.

I really liked the first one more, their story was more romantic. The thing I like about these books is they are easy reads and just something to relax and laugh. They are corny and silly.
The main male character was a huge ass at first. He was always thinking or talking about sex. Once he started to actually like Jane in more than a sexual way he got better. I liked Janes personality. She was young and naive. But we all were at 24, fresh out of college, first job, and first love. It is hard not to flirt when you are attracted to your boss/coworker even if you know you shouldn’t. And honestly it was a small company that created an app so is it really that big of a deal if the boss and the marketing person date.

I was like what a dumbass when he thought she was a prank hooker when she showed up a day early for the first day of work. Although knowing how his friend Jagger from the first book acts I would understand that Tate would think that Jagger would prank him on his first day. But then she was bold to go along with it. Like girl what are you doing!?
They were really into each other and were attracted to each other. Their relationship did develop and they talked and learned about each other. So when they went on a trip back to his parents I knew they would end up hooking up. He liked that she was different and he decided to get serious with her. Even put a ring on it lol
I knew he was a rich boy from a republican political family from South Carolina. I figured that his family was probably racist and I was shook when I was correct. No wonder he moved to California and didn’t want to go back home. When he spur of the moment invited her to come back home with him and pretend to be his gf I did not expect his parents to actually be rude and prejudiced against her since she was Mexican. She handled it well bc I would have to fight. I liked that he stood up for her. He decided it would be pay back if they had sex on his parents bed and they walked in. SMH. I also enjoyed that his younger sisters also didn’t like their parents and asked to move to California with him to get away from them. We hate racism and we don’t tolerate it even from your parents. Kudos to them.
A lot of people didn’t like that she wrote letters to her boss and they didn’t like that he was into swinging but I didn’t hate it. The letters were funny, maybe it was stupid but she just started it bc that’s how the first two characters got together so obviously it’s a reoccurring theme in this series. They had a lot of sexual encounters in public so if that offends you don’t read this book.

Truthfully this was a total random read because the cover just grabbed my attention.

3stars....

I enjoyed this but I also didn't take it super seriously and I read it over two days which is unusual for me. I enjoyed it whilst reading for the most part but I also wasn't rushing to get back to it in the times I could read.

It's a smutty quick read that made me laugh and had some seriously hot moments where the chemistry was just spot on between Tate and Jane. I enjoyed the dynamics of their relationship and the letter situation they had going on.. it's unique and definitely kept me intrigued. I love a good office romance and I love strong characters on both sides and I feel like I got that hence the 3stars. I also really enjoyed this author's style of writing, it flows great and was comfortable to read which for a new to me author.. was something I liked.

I feel like these characters and this storyline had so much potential to be great but a few things just didn't quite hit the spot for me.. (that doesn't mean it won't for others!). I wanted a little more depth from these characters. I know it's leaning more on the smutty side but I would of loved a little more emotional intimacy from them instead of just the bickering foreplay and sex. I feel like the situation with Tate's parents just came out of like a fright train and honestly I wasn't a fan of how that whole situation played out. I feel like he needed to be defending Jane more and it left a bad taste in my mouth. The ending seemed a little rushed and I was sad because despite what I said and the things that didn't sit well with me personally.. I enjoyed a lot of this book and loved certain aspects even.

As a whole is a quick sexy read to pass the time. I don't regret reading it but it not going to be a re-read for me either. I am super interested in seeing what other books this author has though but I really did enjoy her writing style.

After reading book one in this series I was excited to read this one, I loved getting to know Jane in book one. Tate was a so cocky and full of himself that I knew there was something fun coming. The underlying story was good, I wanted to know what happened and so I read the whole story. There were many times I wanted to yell at Tate for in treatment of women. I was happy when Jane would put him in his place but some of the situations were a bit extreme. I overlooked some of the over the top stuff as the author trying to show the differences in the two characters. However, the writing drove me nuts, there were parts that were repeated or contradicted themselves. Magnolia in some parts wasn’t really acting as I would have expected from the first book either. When I read a book especially the second one I like consistency in how the characters act to stay true to who they were established to be, this wasn’t the case and made me sad. I was also disappointed with a seen in the book that was truly one I never would have saw Jane allowing. I hate writing bad reviews but I always write honest ones.

I liked this book. That being said I did not like everything about this book. I enjoy the snarky tone of this series and the over-the-top inappropriateness of the male leads. I find the concept behind the series fun, but admit you have to go into it with the right mindset and a definite sense of humor. Tate and Jane generate lots of sparks with their witty banter and sizzling chemistry. I thought Jane was fun and I really liked her. Tate was, well Tate. His ego is the size of a football field and his actions/thoughts very often showcase how much of a jerk he can be. That being said, most of it can be brushed aside or forgotten as his romance heats up with Jane. However, there is one very distinct instance in this book where I felt he made a huge mistake and this left a big blight on this character for me. This is my frank, freely posted review.

4 star review To My Arrogant Boss (The Inappropriate Bachelors #2) by J S Cooper by J S Cooper

AUDIO REVIEW:

Although not a long book, it certainly was entertaining. The story is well written and I was invested from the first to the last chapter. The narrators Laurie West and Christian Black are new to me and I enjoyed their performances.
This is Tate and Jane’s story. I really liked Jane and I fell for Tate, so swoon worthy in the end. This was a fun read that had me laughing and smiling at time. The friendship that Jane has with her girlfriends added another layer to the story.

Tate and Jane are boss and employee that get along like oil and water. Tate has been getting secret admirer notes which he thinks couldn't be from Jane at first. Jane tries to deny her attraction at first but things get steamy and hilarious with this couple.

- I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.

- Tate took out a letter that he found in his gym bag as he read it he had to chuckle. He knew it was someone he affected to have them write the letter. Jagger and Magnolia invited Tate to lunch with the rest of the company. Tate was not in a big hurry to go there especially since Jane the bane of his existence and employee. If she hadn’t been so good at what she did he would have fired her.
Jane was wondering if he had read her letter but had Magnolia help her in diverting Tate’s attention. Jane finally told Magnolia what had happened on her first day. Meanwhile Tate is working Jane’s last nerve by being so obnoxious. Tate takes Jane to gym where they wind up in the steam room together. It was funny because their was a bimbette trying to give Tate a blow job at least trying to talk him into it. Jane said some words and climbed on Tate . Jane all of a sudden realized what she had been doing she got up and ran out. She needed to get to work so she cleaned up and left. Leaving Tate alone with plastic boobies in the steam room. Tate asked Jane to come home to his family’s house to keep his mother off his back. Tate parents were beyond racist Jane had heard things before but his mother had an acid tongue and calling her the help

If your looking for the perfect laugh out loud Rom com to occupy your time , To My Arrogant Boss is the absolute resolution to fill your moments of boredom! It's funny, witty, sweet, loveable, sometimes steamy and a lot dreamy and comp!early satisfactory. Tate is a man with maybe a bit too much arrogance but a real heart of gold at his core. At first glance he comes off as the douchy, Alpha non approachable bossman, but once you get to peal back the layers of this heartthrob you find a true southern gentleman with the biggest heart. He's just careful who he shares that side of himself completely with. I think he truly became one of my favorite male H's from any of Cooper's books I've read! The love and respect he had for Jane by the end just melted my heart! Jane is the true queen of her own world. This feisty Latina paved her own path and doesn't take it from anyone! At first it seems they would not make a good match! To me it seemed the two of them were PERFECT for each other because they soften each others hard edges and bring out the best of eachother! I especially loved the true life world issues Cooper touched on in this story. Though it may be but fictiom, it's still nice to see an example of standing up when it may not be popular and accepting others for who they truly are. My personal only negative was that it was bit hard for me to relate to the office girls as a whole, but I think that's only because my life is so very different from theirs that at times , to me, they came across as slightly immature. But I truly think others will definitely find them funny and be able to relate to them. I've just had a much different life and am at a different point in my life. They could be hilarious at times! Overall, I loved this one, even more than the first and cannot wait for the next installment!

Taming the beast
Good humorous, hot romance too, In which, I loves characters : Tate, the arrogant boss is perfect enough, in complete denial of his attraction as he wants to keep his immaturity, his untameable side, and Jane, his employee, is perfect and is the one who is teasing him all the time, but who at the same time says that she is making a huge idiocy, although she loves to torture him.
The story is very well written and it allows a better understanding of the two characters and ultimately to accept and appreciate Tate who at the beginning, has the talent of being hateful.
Tate receives an anonymous message informing him of his imperfections and the non-attachment that a non-admirer would have for him. He is not really disturbed by this note, but his interest is aroused for the person who could have written it.
However, he does not really know who it may be and he begins to respond.
The author of the notes is one of her employees, Jane, with whom he has had a rather disturbing first impression, and who has since found him unbearable with his smugness, rudeness and arrogance.
However, all their prejudices and against their reason, a strong attraction remains around two and we feel the sexual tension rised between them throughout the history, calling into question their convictions.

Tongue in cheek
by Aries.Pisces

To My Arrogant Boss is an over the topic rom-com. To take it super seriously is to do the book and the author a disservice. You'll genuinely have to suspend a lot of belief and just read it for what it is. I say this after having started and stopped at least 3 times because I kept getting totally disgusted with Tate, the male lead. Having said that though, there are some areas that just don't make a lot of sense. The anal sex scene that Tate describes for Jane came out of left field and wasn't necessary to the story. The topic itself wasn't the problem, the fact that it had no point was. That Tate would knowingly take Jane home to meet his family, knowing that his parents are racists, and no warning to her of what she would be facing, again odd and off putting. Sex in his parent's bed? Childish on Tate's part and uncharacteristic on Jane's and not even in keeping with the over the top comedic style of the book. Lastly, there is an added epilogue that is unnecessary and not following the story line. I am not sure why it was added but you can tell that it was an after thought as it literally does not follow the timeline established the page before. Perhaps it was an alternate ending. Either way, there needed to be a bit of proofreading done.
This book is by far not the best that you will find, however, it isn't the worst. There are parts that will make you laugh if you approach the story in the right frame of mind.

I never finished this book and I don’t want to finish this book because it was so bad. Tate seriously should’ve been sued for sexual harassment and even the comments he made were too much given the type of book. Jane did not get mad enough for half the stuff he did. Tate insinuated she was a stripper in front of another guy because he was jealous and she got mad for one second and yelled at him for interrupting her conversation and then forgot it. Do not waste your time with this book.

This book is not only hysterical, but fun and witty...exactly what you need in this seriously depressing times. You can't help but adore Tate, the southern boy with a healthy dose of confidence and money. Under a lesser writer, he might have come across as stereotypically douchey. But Cooper writes him with more depth from the moment we meet him in book one. He's hired all females at his start up and seems to respect them all for what they bring to the company. He also has a cheeky sense of self, making fun of the fact that he's a total dude and calling HIMSELF a douche. And as the book progresses, you learn more about his background and the person he really is.

There are real laugh out loud moments, and the best parts of The book revolve around the women of the office. They are all varied personalities with equal love of all things gossip and fun. Jane is the core of the group. A feisty Mexican with a strong personality, she doesn't take crap from anyone, including boss Tate.

I loved the part where Tate finds out who Jane is, and everyone's cards are shown. They discovered so much about each other And realized that not only did they underestimate each other, but underestimated the chemistry between them. When Tate shows Jane who he really is, it's undeniably sweet. And meeting his sister's only cements how there is more to him than he lets on.

"“And one day.” I said as I kissed the top of her head. “One day, I want to see you walking barefoot through the fields with our kids hanging onto the bottom of your skirt. I want to make flower crowns and place them on your head because you’re my Queen. You’ve taken the emptiness from my life, Jane. You’ve taken the weariness. One day, I want you to be my wife and the mother of my children. Not until you’re ready, of course, but I want you to know that now. We’re in this for life. I’ve been to hell and back so many times before in my life, but I’m not going back. I’m never going. There are a lot of things I don’t understand, but this is something I do understand. We’re for life. We’re the real deal. We’re soul mates.”"

Who wouldn't want a man to say such romantic things to you? Tate will melt even the hardest of hearts. It's a delightful palette cleanser that will make you feel good about the world...at least until you turn the 6 o'clock news on.

Yes, Tate Howard is arrogant, but he's also caring, witty and generous to a fault. His arrogance is part confidence, but there's more to him than that. Jane Garcia's parents are from Mexico, but she and her brother, Marco, were raised in Los Angeles and Pasadena. She loves her new job at the 800 Club and, truth be told, since the mix-up with her starting date and how it all began with Tate, she was pretty happy with her boss, too. But he confuses her. She doesn't know the first thing about sex, but there is something about Tate that makes her feel alive. Tate doesn't do relationships because his heart was ripped out because of all that happened with Vivian. He didn't dare risk that pain and guilt again. But Jane is different and she makes him feel lighter and more cheerful around her. Still, he doesn't get attached. Tate has a love/hate relationship with his parents, but he won't say a word about it to Jane. When he asks Jane to be his plus one at his sister's wedding in Charleston, he knows that his parents won't make it easy. They are somewhat out of touch with reality and expect him to marry a woman of their social circle who can help him as he campaigns for Senator in the next election. Tate's three sisters are delightful and it's apparent how much they love their big brother and he they. But, as with all of his visits home, this one turns into a disaster quickly and completely, with the ghosts and regrets coming back out of his past. The family shatters, but not before there is some forgiveness and a tiny bit of understanding. Jane is the strong one and it's through her that a message is delivered that the Howards are, from here on in, not just a family of tolerance, but one of acceptance.

5 Stars for To My Arrogant Boss By J.S. Cooper

ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.

I think this might just be my favorite book by this author. Tate Howard is a character you really - really love to hate. The totally arrogant boss best described as being infuriating , annoying , grumpy & someone who thinks he is God’s gift to the female species. I also want to mention he is drop dead gorgeous !!! Jane Garcia works for Tate but most days can’t stand him - the tension and sizzling chemistry between these two is definitely off the charts.

Jane communicates with Tate thru a series of “hate notes “ left in his gym bag. Signed by your “secret NOT admirer “ - Tate suspects Jane could be leaving the notes but there is also a “plastic bimbo” - his words - not mine at the gym who could also be his “secret NOT admirer”.

This book is filled with lots of funny dialog as these two characters could not be more different ... Jane is super feisty , takes no crap & can easily fire back smart come backs at the blink of an eye. Tate does his best to infuriate her at every turn - slow burn however to a spontaneous combustion !

One of my favorite exchanges between the two :

Tate ...”Sorry I was distracted by the beauty of your eyes “...

Jane replies after hitting Tate’s shoulder ... “Oops ,sorry I was distracted by your bullsh@#%$@%$@it” !!!! 😂

This book can be read as a standalone but I was happy to see other great characters make their appearance ...

Awesome book read in one sitting - great office romance with plenty of added heat 🔥

Loved this book - highly recommend it and this author !!
