The conclusion to Matt Shaw's FULL MOON TRILOGY. The Pack is restless. Michael is fed up serving under Jason. With the help of Melissa and David, his play-things, he believes he has found a way to finally knock him Jason the top-spot. A way for Michael to take his place at the head of the pack without alienating his sisters and having them turn against him in the process. Jason is tired. Things were never this complicated before but with the brutal slaughter of the house-servants, the house feels both empty and messy. There are ghosts in every hallway and room from various betrayals that have taken place over the years. He wants a fresh start; a move away from The Run, the house and his scheming brother. But will his pack continue to follow him or will they follow Michael's lead and also look to overthrow him? The Full Moon is coming around once again and, when it does, it will be bringing changes - one way or the other.
MATT SHAW was born, quite by accident (his mother tripped, he shot out) September 30th 1980 in Winchester hospital where he was immediately placed on the baby ward and EBay. Some twelve years later (wandering the corridors of the hospital and playing with road kill when he was on day release), the listing closed and he remained unsold, he was booted out of the hospital to start his life as a writer and hobbit – beginning with writing screenplays and short stories for his own amusement before finally getting published when he was twenty-seven years and forty-five seconds old.
Once Published weekly in a lad's magazine with his photography work, Matt Shaw is also a published author and cartoonist. Has to be said, can be a bit of a flirt and definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, somewhat of a klutz.
Favourite books "Roald Dahl's Collection of Short Stories" Tim Burton's Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy Anything, really, written by himself. Because he is that good.
Matt Shaw is an extremely prolific writer. Some of his stories are okay, good, and some are really great. As a whole, I mostly have an awesome time reading his stories.
This series of three books was on the A+ side of the spectrum. It starts with David’s role in the household and how one of the “volunteers” ends up on The Run. From there, Matt introduces the reader to Jason’s family. What really creates interest though, is the jumps from present to past between all the various characters while he tries to obscure all their motives. I also found Helena and Max to be intriguing characters (obviously the point of their cameos...duh) and I am looking forward to catch up with their antics in Octopus 1 & 2.
This read was interesting to say the least. Werewolves, half human/ monster, each thinking they're stronger than the other and wanting to be alpha seems very plausible to me. The mortals didn't play huge roles in this one, and I was hoping to get some more of Melissa. Max and Helena (Octopus) was a nice touch with their cameos
I tore through the three books in a day and had a lot of fun. Excellent gore, realistic problems of being modern werewolves (got to watch where you get your food from), all kinds of treachery, what's not to love?
The Pack A Psychological Horror (Full Moon Trilogy Bk 3)
Wow! I just love a fast paced action packed horror! All the characters were strong, believable and I hate to say it, likeable too! The story line from the first to the third books were fresh ideas, nothing done twice. Honestly, if you love the werewolf genre as half as much as I do read these! They’re fab! I hadn’t heard of Matt Shaw before these books, however I can tell you I’m going to be reading a load more of his work now!
Everything comes to a head in this final installment of the Full Moon trilogy. This one is just as vivid as the first one, and is a good ending for the story. I think my only gripe is I wish it was longer. I don't think I'll be reading the spinoff duology. Max and Helena left a sour taste in my mouth and I truly hope their story gives them the ending they deserve.
I liked this trilogy very much. Lots of drama and story, just enough sex and blood to keep things interesting. Definitely prefer the psychological over the extreme horror. This last book leads into the Octopus trilogy as well.
This is the end of the trilogy about the Pack. I really enjoyed reading this final book. Matt Shaw knows how to get into your head. Everybody in the Pack is restless and the battle between Michael and Jason is about to boil over. Who will make it and who won't? You'll have to read it and see for yourself. The end of the book sets up another series. Off to Octopus.......
Have really enjoyed the full moon trilogy, love werewolf stories and this is one of the better ones. I thought the story would end here, thou I was wrong..... now off to read octopus
