Inherit Love #6

Forgotten Inheritance

Rate this book
I’ve had a crush on Charlie Lang for as long as I can remember, but she never gave me a second glance until the day she woke up with no memory and found out she was my wife.

A freak accident and a major head injury lands Charlie in a Cayman Islands hospital.

But when she wakes up, she’s lost her memory. The nurses assume I’m her husband, and just when I’m about to correct them, I realize the universe has given me a second chance with her.

Charlie used to see me as her uncle’s charity case. Now, she has to rely on me.

We can finish our “honeymoon” in a romantic tropical paradise with no interference from the outside world.

I know it’s wrong, but I’ve always been in love with her.

But when her memories come back, will she ever be able to forgive me, or will my lies destroy the best thing that’s ever happened to me?

Yes, I’m a fan of Hallmark channel movies. This isn’t as sappy as a Hallmark channel movie, nor as formulaic (the quaint town with all the colorful townsfolk is missing! and neither one is royalty!), and a lot more raw in terms of emotions, but it has all the romance and then some. I picked this up because I’ve been eying the other books in this series for a while, and after reading this, I am definitely going to go back and pick them up. This book switches view points between the two main characters, alternating each chapter and I loved being able to see into both of their heads. I loved Roman’s chapters with his guilt for not telling her the truth was totally eating him alive, and freaking out at even the slightest thing she might remember. He’s this adorably nice, sweet guy, who keeps wanting to do the right thing, but then his sexual drive that’s been hung up on Charlie since they were kids keeps talking him out of it (which is just hilarious as it digs him into on-coming trouble deeper and deeper). Charlie was a fun perspective, too, as she tries to make sense of who she was in the past. I also loved that she could tell that Roman was holding back on her. I loved their childhood memories and I loved the Cayman Islands setting and of course the romance. The only quibbles I had with it was that I’m never a fan of swear words, and the dirty talk felt out of place and awkward in the couple of scenes it popped up in. The story is predictable in the way that Hallmark movies are predictable, but I don’t think I would want a romance any other way.

Could Charlie trust Roman's love for her?
by sewsummore

Although Charlie and Roman grew up together there, they were never friends, and after she successfully sued him for the money her uncle left him and won, she never expected to see him again. Roman decided to confront Charlie again for the last time, his not for profit organization needed the inherited money far more than she did. He did not expect to rescue her after an accident, nor did he expect to be confused for her husband but, he couldn't leave her alone in a strange country with no memory of who she was. The days that followed were difficult for him, he felt guilty for the pretense, but as they saw more of each other, it was hard to keep his hands off the woman who thought she was his wife. Away from her work and carefree for the first time, Charlie discovered how much she loved the man she thought was her husband. When the truth was revealed, Charlie was angry and confused not only because of the deception but her love for Roman. I found this book an intense and dramatic read. Charlie was a woman driven to succeed in a man's world. When her memory returned, she discovered that she did not like the woman she was before, her life with Roman as her husband was the life she wanted. Could Charlie trust that man again? Roman was a man who dedicated his life to helping others, a man who had been there for her when she needed him most. Could she trust the love he professed for her? Read the book to find the answer!

I loved reading Forbidden Inheritance by Mckenna James because it was a fantastic book about getting a second chance. Charlie was the CEO of her company and to say that she was high maintenance and mean was an understatement. Her Uncle Charles had passed away and had given her an inheritance. But she had taken Roman, who her uncle had taken in when he was little, to court to fight for the inheritance. Roman was secretly in love with Charlie but Charlie couldn't care less. While she was in the Cayman Islands getting her money from the lawyer, Roman had followed her there to at least talk to her about the inheritance. She wasn't listening and then an accident happened where she lost her memory and Roman was mistakenly called her husband in the hospital. Charlie was a different person when she finally emerged from her coma. This was Roman's second chance to have Charlie fall in love with him. I loved how he was so nervous around her. Their love affair was extremely steamy and I hoped that they would stay together. I love reading about second chances. It was such a fantastic book that I highly recommend reading it.

Roman and Charlie have grown up together, but over the years they have grown apart, until Charlie ends up seeing him as an enemy to beat when her uncle leaves all his inheritance to Roman, who plans to use it for his homeless shelter.
Charlie is the CEO of her uncle’s company, and since she was little, her uncle has educated her for that, so she is not willing to resign.
Charlie goes to the Cayman Islands to deposit her inheritance in the bank, and Roman follows her there as the last attempt to make her see reason and see all the good that money can do for the homeless boys. He was one of them until Charlie’s uncle took him in.
But she refuses once more, but fate causes Charlie to suffer an accident whereby she loses her memory.
Roman takes advantage of the confusion in the hospital and pretends to be her husband, and when Charlie comes to, he tells her that they are on their honeymoon.
He doesn’t want to lie to her, he loves her, and on several occasions he tries to come clean, but since her accident, Charlie has changed, showing a side of her that he had not seen for years.
As the days go by they fall more in love, but finally Charlie recovers her memory and it is not pretty.
It’s a very romantic story, a great finale for these series.

Forgotten Inheritance
Inherit Love, Book 6
By: Mckenna James
Narrated by: Addison Barnes

Growing up in the same house does not guarantee the same values. Charlie is a high powered, CEO of Bliss Media and Roman is in charge of Phoenix House for orphans. When Uncle Charles dies, the two have completely different views as to where the money should go. With a heart full of love for the frozen queen, Roman makes a last ditch effort to get her to contribute to his charity when an unfortunate accident happens. Now is the chance for Charlie to see life through a different lens. But not all is good. With Roman posing as her husband, what will happen when the truth is revealed? Fantastic chemistry, a good plot and a fun story, McKenna James takes us to the Keys and back learning the true happiness of life. We all don't get second chances, and Charlie is a lucky one. The ending is perfect and inspirational.

Addison Barnes always is a pleasure to listen to. She brings out the best in her characters and as Roman and Charlie she is amazing. I love her voices, and each character has it's own nuances and inflections, giving it an individual sound. Another fun listen by Barnes!

I absolutely loved this book! The story of Roman and Charlie is one of finding love where you least expect it. They grew up together and Roman has loved Charlie as long as he can remember. When her Uncle Charles dies, there is a problem with the will. Roman says he left money to the Phoenix House, the charity Roman runs. Charlie is sure it belongs to her and a court battle ensues. They meet up in the Cayman Islands where Roman tries to plead his case with her once more. Tragedy strikes when she is injured by a falling pipe. When she wakes, she has no memory and Roman steps in to care for her and make sure she isn't alone. They fall in love over this time and things are good until her assistant comes to find her and her memory returns. She sends Roman away but the following month leaves her feeling empty and alone. The two finally reunite, declare their true feelings for each other and then begin their wonderful journey together to their happily ever after!

Charlie is the CEO of her company, Bliss Media, and she has no interest whatsoever in Roman Howard, who has always had a crush on her. Her Uncle Charles had taken Roman in when he was little and he left money to Roman to run his homeless shelter. Charlie immediately contests the Will and wins. When Charlie heads for the Cayman Islands to claim her money from the lawyer, she is injured in a freak accident. She wakes up in the hospital having no memory of what happened.

Roman, who had initially followed Charlie to talk to her about the inheritance and remained at her side in the hospital, is assumed to be her husband. Instead of telling the medical personnel the truth, he sees this as an opportunity to have a chance with the woman he loves, so he continues to pretend to be her husband. Could this situation make Charlie see at last that Roman is the perfect husband she can rely on? Or will she gain back her memories and never forgive him for his trickery?

All is fair in love and war....so when the circumstances are in your favor run with it while you can

Forgotten Inheritance is the sixth book in the Inherit Love series and a fun and entertaining romance. The story is fast-paced, romantic and quite intriguing novella of a tough and sharp business woman who gets amnesia and a man who has loved her for years all of a sudden finding himself in a place he could only ever dream of. Will he take advantage of circumstance...........you betcha he does. With everything going wonderfully and the two of them having a fantastic time what will happen when she starts to regain her memory? Will she be able to see him as someone who actually loves her or as someone who took advantage of the circumstances? As they say all is fair in love and war!

I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Charlie doesn't remember marrying Roman she also doesn't remember that she hates him and how horrible of a person she is. When she wakes in a hospital, she can remember very little of who she was.
Roman has loved Charlie since they were kids, they used to be so close and then one day she just started hating him and he has no idea why. When he witnesses her accident that takes her memories and is there when she wakes everyone assumes that he's her husband so he goes along with it so he can be there for her and take care of her. He never meant to lie to her, and he knows with every memory that comes back to her the angrier she is going to be when she remembers him. He tries to tell her but they are spending so much time together and he's falling more and more in love with her and she with him.
Lets just say when Charlie finally remembers She is angry and hurt that he lied to her. They do get an HEA but only after plenty of heart ache.

Such an incredible story. Charlie is the CEO of her own company, spoiled, rich, and not very likable. Her Uncle Charles has passed away and left an inheritance. Roman was taken in when he was a child by Uncle Charles and Charlie has to take him to court for the inheritance. The money just so happens to be in the Cayman Islands so that’s where Charlie heads to see the lawyer and get the money and Roman follows her. Charlie has an accident and ends up in a coma. The hospital staff thinks Roman is her husband and when Charlie awakes she has lost her memory. Roman thinks this is his chance to make her fall in love with him. What will happen if her memory returns? Such a fantastic story and I highly recommend it.

I'd say that this a second chance at love with a twist. Charlie is the CEO of her company and she is mean and resents the boy Roman, who her Uncle took in when he was little, to court to fight for the inheritance. Poor Roman loves Charlie but Charlie could care less about him. (I disliked Charlie at that point). She goes to the Cayman Island to collect the money from the lawyer but has an accident and ends up in hospital with no memory. Roman is mistaken for her husband and instead of telling the truth and disputing the claim then he pretends to be her husband. Will this accident help change Charlie's attitude and will she end up loving Roman? Read and find out what happens. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Forgotten Inheritance
By McKenna James
Main Characters: Roman and Charlie
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
Charlie is CEO of a media company and Roman runs a shelter for at-risk kids. These two grew up together but somewhere along the line, Charlie starting resenting Roman and he always had a crush on Charlie. In the beginning, Charlie was not a very likable person but she was a very good CEO. When things change drastically for the two of them it made for a very interesting story. I would have liked to have seen Roman with more alpha characteristics. Loved the epilogue. This is a contemporary romance with a HEA ending.

At first this story made me think of the movie Overboard. Charlie was a selfish ruthless business woman, who didn’t care how badly she treated others and who she had to trample on to be a successful CEO including winning out in a court case against Roman and his non-profit homes for orphans. She’s in the Cayman Islands putting the money she won from the inheritance that her uncle had originally bequeathed to Roman and his charity in a bank when she sees him and is struck in the head. She wakes up with a lot of missing memories and is lead to believe that Roman is her husband. He’s afraid to tell her the truth and then things start becoming passionate and I think he hoped she’d never remember the truth. This was a sexy enemies to lovers romance.

Although growing up together friendly, as adults Charles and Charlie are almost polar opposites.
Charlie has become a cold business woman who just thinks about her next acquisition and after her uncle's death she fights against his testament leaving money to a charity run by Charles. After she succeeded she went to open a bank account in the Cayman Islands where she has a freak accident, just when Charles wants to talk sense to her and she loses her memories. When she wakes up she discovers a whole new world of compassion and regains a friend and more in Charles.
A nice story, with an interesting plot and a few funny situations. An entertaining read.

This one was not your typical second chance/enemies to lovers romance. I was please with the fact that is was not written with the typical formula, yet had all the right elements that make a good romance story. Charlie is a ruthless CEO that is taking back the inheritance that was given to her childhood friend Roman. When Roman tries to convince Charlie to reconsider, Charlie is suddenly injured and loses her memory. During this section of the book you really get a feel for both characters and are rooting for them. The author does a great job of the redemption of Charlie without losing what made her so successful in her 'former' life.

This book is the sixth book in the Inherit Love series and is a wonderful second chance romance. It features Charlie, who inherits her Uncle Charles' business, and Roman who was taken in as a child by Uncle Charles but was deprived of his inheritance. Charlie and Roman are in dispute over the inheritance when she has a head injury and amnesia and Roman uses the situation to become her husband because he loves her. This is a wonderful romance and I highly encourage everyone to read it.

Enjoyed this romance with a twist when Charlie takes Ronan to court about the inheritance that he received from her uncle and won. Ronan has been in love with Charlie for years but she has always ignored him only focused on her company and making money but when she gets injured and loses her memory and wakes up thinking that he is her husband and her personality has also changed for the better he decides to go along with it.

This very well written story is an interesting second chance at romance with her taking him to court for her inheritance. Can he convince her that he loves her even though he tricked her. She has lost her memory and her old personality. The characters are wonderful and have chemistry. Can they stay together with her forgiveness. A story I could not put down

This book was an absolute surprise ... spotted on amazon for a more original than usual plot, I literally fell in love with the romance between Roman and Charlie. The two points of view are perfectly capable of involving the reader in the thoughts and emotions of the characters; the choice of having a rich, strong, and cold heroine who discovers her true self and a hero with a big heart but who combines so many troubles and mistakes is absolutely right.
