Rate this book
Now that her misunderstanding about their engagement being a farce to please the nobles and pacify the current political climate has been resolved, Elianna and Prince Christopher are able to set a date for the official wedding in the spring. In the meantime, the prince is sent off on a diplomatic errand, and Eli is selected to act as his proxy in this year’s Autumn Hunting Festival. And who is the mysterious phantom of the past, “Ladybird”?

Eeehhhh....not as good as the first one. I hope it picks up in the third book. 3, buyers remorse, stars.

What an enjoyable continuation! The amount of slight adult humor was truly the run of this volume. I will admit, the prince’s behavior made me a bit upset since I preferred the more refined version from the first volume. Nonetheless I still heavily enjoyed it.

We seem to be averaging about 3 volumes of the manga in these first light novels roughly, though of course some of the perspective and details are different with the different format and writing. It ends on a rather hilarious note in the main story and leads into a side story focusing on Therese and Glen respectively. Eli may be as clueless as ever, but those around her are always surprised by how she manages to turn the tables in her favor so calmly. The new ghost story at the end is also entertaining, especially given the original rumors with the library ghost before the bibliophile princess came about.

Lady Elianna, called the "Bibliophile Princess" has plenty of book knowledge, but good common sense, not so much. Lady Elianna has found herself in another incident; but thanks to her friends, family and fiancé Prince Christopher, she manages to avoid disaster. Another fun, easy read, that is whimsical and sweet.

The first book was very nice, but this one falls a lot shorter in my opinion. I might pick up the next one with the hope that it's better again.

I hope a few things were cut back...but overall a fun read. Eliana air-headedness is fun no matter what.
