2.5 stars. I've read quite a few fics in which Harry elevates himself into a position equal to that of Dumbledore and Voldemort and it is something I enjoy and something that makes Snarry plausible as a pairing... but this fell a flat. I suspect it is actually because of the extent to which Snape has been tweaked - he's not just shaped as a character to fit the fanfic, but has been made just OOC enough to put me on edge. Those tweaks create new discomforting power imbalances (the authors of those other fics manage to erase those altogether) which makes the romantic portions of this story dub-con, to some extent. There is also a skewed flow in the story, with the Big Battle happening passively over the space of two or three paragraphs - rather a damp little fizzle there.
