Claimed by a Steele by Brenda Jackson is the thirteenth and final book in her Forged of Steele series. This is a contemporary billionaire romance.

Gannon Steele is the youngest and last unmarried of the Steele brothers of Phoenix, and he plans to enjoy having all the beautiful women to himself with his brothers off the market. He’s CEO of his family’s trucking company and is being interviewed by journalist Delphine Ryland for a series on CEOs making a difference in their companies. Gannon is left speechless by Delphine’s beauty and invites her on a road trip to determine if she is his destiny, the one he is meant to claim.

Brenda Jackson is a master of the romance genre and Claimed by a Steele is another of her successful endeavors. She has well researched the trucking industry, which is an integral part of the story. The characters are strong and vibrant. Gannon may just be my favorite of the brothers. The backstory is more than adequate and makes this final book in the series read like a standalone. This is a quick, entertaining read that rates 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys engaging contemporary romance.

My thanks to HARLEQUIN – Romance (US & Canada) and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Playboy Gannon Steele , the last of the “Bad News Steele’s” has no plans of getting married; at least not until his ten year plan of dating and bedding the women of Phoenix is complete. His plans all change when he is blown away by his intense attraction to Delphine Ryland, a journalist from Simply Irresistible Magazine. Craving to be in her presence, he convinces Delphine to drive cross-country with him to determine if she is his soulmate.

I’m always impressed with the amount of research that Brenda puts into her stories. I enjoyed getting a more positive outlook of the trucking industry. She was able to show major changes being made to keep drivers safe and how important the industry is to economy. I love the family aspect of the book. The Steele brothers are a very close and supportive group. The way they treasure their mother and respect their father is admirable.

I really expected to like this book more, but it was hard to get through it. It started off slow and by the time it started to pick up at around 68%, I was drained and over it. There was a lot of over-explaining and main characters who continuously stayed in their head;this story would have definitely benefited from more fleshed out scenes. I had a hard time believing Gannon accepted Delphine as his fate that quick. I expected some push back from the man who adamantly stated he was going to be single for ten years; their connection was too easy for my taste.

For this to be the last book in the Forged of Steele series, it was very anticlimactic. We didn’t get the wedding we deserved, no proper reunion of the family that we’ve grown to love, nor a proper ending of this beloved series.
The way this book was written let’s us know that the author was definitely in a hurry to close out this series and my heart is heavy because I wanted so much more.

Quick unedited thoughts

Delphine and her insecurity grated on my nerves. It was ruining the flow of the book for me. I always say this about Jackson's books, but I love the familial dedication, admiration and love. Its the best part of the books for me. Ganon was a cool dude. A stand up guy and I enjoyed reading about him. Gannon is a caring, considerate and loving person. Delphine had her heart and trust broken twice in her life which made her lose trust in men. If she hadn't made that promise to her Mom she might not have given Gannon a true shot.

I learned much about the trucking business. I now have a better appreciation for the job and the drivers.

Gannon and Delphine finally figure out that a loving relationship is so worth the effort. Gannon is the baby Steele brother and he has big plans to enjoy all the single ladies that are now off-limits to his now married big brothers! However Gannon did not plan on beautiful Delphine capturing his mind as well as his heart.

I loved learning some of the ins and outs of long distance trucking through the eyes of CEO Gannon. Extremely interesting!

Good book. Gannon Steele has a ten-year plan for his life. He will grow his trucking business first and then consider the possibility of settling down. Now that his five older brothers are married, he looks forward to having the women of Phoenix all to himself. Gannon was one of several CEOs chosen by Simply Irresistible magazine to be interviewed about their companies. Gannon is well-known for taking care of his drivers and their families. He also regularly gets behind the wheel himself, using those trips to make sure their needs are met.

Delphine Ryland is a freelance journalist working on the story. She started working with the magazine several years earlier while caring for her sick mother. She also wrote men out of her life after her fiancé left her for another woman a month before their wedding. She looks forward to doing the story on Gannon, whose reputation intrigues her.

I loved the first meeting between Gannon and Delphine. Her beauty completely gobsmacked Gannon and it was fun to see the playboy struggle for composure. Delphine was a little better off because she had seen plenty of pictures of him, but the real thing was much better. They met for dinner to discuss the interview, but Gannon spent more time trying to get to know more about her. He was confused about why he was so intrigued by everything about her, but couldn't deny his interest.

The sparks between Gannon and Delphine were evident from the start, but both are determined to keep things professional. However, Delphine's effect on him has Gannon second-guessing his ten-year plan. He becomes intent on getting to know her better so that he can decide if she's The One. To that end, he invites her to go along on his delivery trip. Delphine is very wary of the feelings that Gannon stirs in her. She's been burned before and has no intention of risking her heart again. As they give in to their attraction, Gannon becomes more convinced that Delphine is meant to be his. Delphine fights hard against her feelings. But just as she realizes that she is in love with him, she overhears a phone call that sends her running. I hurt for Gannon, who saw his chance for happiness disappearing, and for Delphine, who thought that history was repeating itself. I loved the advice Gannon received from his brothers, motivating him not to give up. Delphine was a little harder to get through to, and it took some straight talk from her best friend to make her realize her mistake. Gannon's heartfelt words to Delphine when he caught up with her were sweet and romantic. There was a neat little twist at the end. I liked the epilogue with their wedding and the presence of all the Steeles.

Brenda Jackson's books are always big on family, and this one was no different. All of the Steele children had a marvelous example of the power of love in their parents. I loved the scenes with them and their obvious love for each other and their boys. The love and respect Gannon had for both parents was evident in his interactions with them. But it was his time with his brothers that was the most fun. They all teased him about his ten-year plan, especially after he met Delphine. Each of them had advice for Gannon that he first fought against, then realized was needed. They were also there for him when he needed support or a kick in the pants.

I had the pleasure of reading Claimed By A Steele. I received an advanced reader copy from @netgalley, this book will be released on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

The baby of the Steele Clan, Gannon, is the ultimate ladies man with a 10 year plan in place before he is ready to settle down. Delphine is a 20-something year old journalist that is conducting an interview on Gannon for Simply Irresistible.

The story surrounds the interview in the beginning. Over time, Gannon realizes that Delphine could be the one to change his outlook.. his soul mate. He invites her to go on the road with him and then for a week at his beach house.. the rest is history from there.

What I liked was even though Gannon seemed to have this 10 year plan, he was open to getting to know Delphine on a more intimate level. Delphine wasn’t very relatable or likable at times. I found her character to be wishy-washy.. she required a lot of reassuring but Gannon was very patient with her. The story was kind of slow at times, the speed picked up around the 70% mark for me. I did like the ending.

Gannon Steele is the last of the Steele brothers to be single. He has decided, he's not going to get married for another 10 years. When Delphine Ryland comes into his life, he might just change his mind. Delphine has been hurt in the past and the last thing she is looking for is a relationship. But these Steele men are hard to resist. Will Delphine and Gannon both be able to stand by the rules that they have made for themselves?

Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I'm really upset that I didn't know about this series before. I read this book in two days, it was hard to put down. I think I would have given it more stars if I would have read the rest of the series and had more background information on the family as a whole. The book is about the Steele family and these brothers are hot, sexy and intelligent.

This book in the series is about the youngest Steele brother. The story starts at another brother's wedding where Gannon vows he's going to wait another 10 years before he decides to settle down. He is being groomed to take over the family business, but he doesn't just want to sit behind a desk, he wants to be out in the field with his employees so that he can know how to make their job easier and in turn making his company better. Delphine is in town to write and article about Gannon and his practices. What better way to get to know him better than by going on the road with him. They will learn a lot about each other on this trip and maybe give up plans and go with the flow.

I have read only a few of Brenda Jackson's books, but I can't wait to read about the other Steele brothers.

Gannon knows what he wants and is the strong Alpha type but with a strong family ethic, Delphine has had a rough time and is getting her life back together after losing her mother and being dumped by her ex-fiancee for another woman. When these two meet Gannon falls for Delphine in an instant but can they go the distance and let their hearts beat as one. A wonderful sexy romantic read.

Gannon Steele is the youngest of six brothers. The eldest five are now married and are starting families. Gannon is tickled pink...more women for him. He plans on spending at least ten years playing the field.

Gannon is a CEO for his trucking business with plenty of drivers to do whatever jobs head their way. But Gannon enjoys the open road and often takes on a long trip. When he learns that freelancer Delphine Ryland wants to write an article about his company, Gannon knows the publicity would do a lot of good for his company. So, he invites Delphine on a road trip so that she can easily interview him while learning about the trucking business.

Although Gannon is rather drawn to Delphine, his mind is on business. Delphine pretty much feels the same way that Gannon does, but with her difficult past with her family and having recently been dumped, she tries hard to guard her heart. However, the pair share an intense chemistry, so any ideas they had about keeping things on task eventually goes right out the window.

With Claimed By a Steele being the 13th and last book in the Forged By Steele series, I felt a twinge of regret that I only read the previous book in the series. I loved how Brenda Jackson provided enough of a back story with previous characters so that this book could easily be read as a standalone. There is something of a side story in this book involving another character, and I feel that story really did a fine job of bringing this series to a close.

Many thanks to Harlequin Desire and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Disclaimer - I was sent an ARC digital download of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was also sent an ARC of the book prior to this (‘Seduced by a Steele’) in the Steele series by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a slow burn romance with switches between both main characters POV which is something I like in romance books. All in all it was a light hearted and easy read as well as a good conclusion to the Steele books.

Claimed by a Steele is the 13th book in the Forged of Steele series by Brenda Jackson. You don't need to have read the other books to enjoy this one, but after reading book 12 I realise it's nice to catch up with the characters from that book in this 13th one. I imagine if you have read all of the series it will be the same, getting updates from previous characters.

The Steele brothers have a reputation for being ladies men, that is until one by one they find love and get married. Only one of those brothers is still single now and that one is Gannon. He is the CEO of his father's very lucrative trucking business. He isn't your average CEO though. He makes sure that the needs of his truckers and other staff are met and he even does some long haul driving too. He likes the drive and it helps him to be sure that all the drivers have enough stops along the way with enough resources such as gyms to help relax etc during their journies.

Delphine Ryland is a freelance reporter and she has been asked to interview Gannon for a major piece including front cover photo. When they first see each other it is lust at first sight. Delphine has been hurt before by a man and has been single for 5 years. She isn't interested in a relationship, nor a one night stand with Gannon whose reputation as a ladies man precedes him. The problem is that the more time they spend together for the interview the more their attraction grows and they both worry that it could be more than lust.

Gannon invites Delphine on one of his long haul journeys, both for her to see exactly what one is like, but also for them to spend some quality time together where they can figure out if there could be anything between them, any future.

I really enjoyed this story, I loved going along on the long haul journey with Gannon and Delphine. It was great seeing them learn more about each other and their hot intimate scenes were just that...hot. But a good time in bed isn't the only thing required in a relationship. Will our couple settle for that, or could they really be soul mates as Gannon's brothers have intimated?

I reviewed the book in the series before this one and I mentioned how I got annoyed by how often the whole names were used when in the discussions about the mum, dad, brothers etc. I am glad to say that it happened less often in this story. Why use a full name including the middle one when talking about your mother when you could just say, my mother?

All in all, this was a good read and because the full name use was much less and because I loved the truck journey this book will earn the full 5-star rating!

When listening to book #12, Seduced by a Steele, I was treated to a sample of Claimed by a Steele at the emd of the ebook.

Gannon Steele is the youngest of the Steele brothers and he's wondering what he can do to boost business. He invites reporter Delphine Ryland to hitch a ride cross-country. But can he keep his eyes on the road?

Delphine is happy to tag along after some persuasion. But she's cautious, very cautious. I thought her character was realistic- she had to care for her mother who had MS and who she still misses like crazy.

Gannon may be the youngest of the Steeles, but he knows how to attract women, too. He's also willing to take things at Delphine's pace.....until things get out of hand. Gannon is also the only Steele brother who is not married. Is Delphine the one for him? Can he commit to her during theeir road trip?

Just like Seduced by a Steele before it (book 12 in the series), I was hooked on this. The romance seemed even hotter, but maybe that was just me. I got the Happy Ever After I was waiting for, but it wasn't without its hitches for both Gannon and Delphine.

Claimed by a Steele has an author's letter from Brenda Jackson herself to readers because this is the last in the series. Despite this only being my second book of the series, I'll admit I was sad to find that out. Even so, what an ending it was. I do want to see where Gannon and Delphine get to in life next, and I think this will make a nice series extra. That's how I would continue the series a little, or even have a catch-up book for each of the brothers and their wives.

Although I'm sad the series has ended, the few Forged of Steele books I've now reviewd have captured my heart. I have a good excuse to search out the other books and listen to them in order now. Fantastic books!

Thanks to Brenda Jackson and Harlequin for my ARC of book #12 in exchange for an honest review. Full review for book 13 coming when I have a copy of it. I liked the extract of Claimed by a Steele because it had the same pace and action as book 12.

The last of the Bad News Steele men has been bitten by the love bug. Will it get him like it did his five handsome and Bad News brothers? That was the question I went into the reading of this story wondering. When he laid eyes on the beautiful Delphine there to interview him for a cover story in the famous magazine owned by Chloe Westmoreland, I had a hunch his bachelor days were soon coming to an end. All of his brothers and his dad shared their wisdom with him about how it was when they fell in love with their now wives as well as his mother yet he had claimed he would be the last one for at least another ten years. This Steele novel was full of love, Delphine being hurt from a previous relationship, loss of a loved one also by Delphine and an inability to truly trust her heart to another man. Thankfully, all turns out well for both the last single Steele brother and Delphine the woman he has set his sights on. If you know anything about books written by Brenda Jackson, you know there are some surprises, some suspense and some killer themes and sites of interest to tickle your wanderlust and make you pull hard for one or the other of the main characters and sometimes both parties. This one will certainly give you what you have come to love and expect and so much more. I wonder what is next for this beautiful Steele family and who from their circle of friends will be the next to vie for their happily ever after. It is so good reading all of the lead ups to them finding love and happiness and I am overjoyed to be on the journey with them. Keep up the very good writings Mrs. Jackson, I truly enjoy your work.

Another quick Brenda read!

I feel like this book had a lot of potential. My father is a truck driver, so I was really excited to read about the trucking industry. I remember as a kid going on trips with him throughout Florida before the laws changed about passengers. BJ really did her research about the lives of truck drivers from rest stops, ten-hour breaks, weight scales, etc. I hope readers take away the often challenging life of a driver and are more appreciative of them.

Onto le romance: Gannon is sexy like all of BJ heroes tend to be! The sex scenes between him and Delphine, hubba hubba. Gannon is my favorite kind of hero: reformed playboy/rake. I love it when a man ho gets brought to his knees by love. The heroine, I liked more towards the second half. Delphine is a sympathetic character when she retreats from her feelings for the hero when another woman comes off threatening. Lots of people, especially women, never shake that feeling of not being good enough.

My only problem with this one was the road trip aspect didn't come until halfway into the story. As another reviewer remarked, there is a ton of introspection and not as much on the page action. So many internal feels! The best part of road trip romances is setting the scene and giving readers more details, but it is a category so maybe I'm asking for too much.

Not sure if I'll read more Steeles. I think I might enjoy the Westmoreland's more, even though I adore Eden Steele. I hope if there is ever a movie Vanessa Williams plays her.

Saved the Best for Last

I had bittersweet vibes as I opened this book. The Steele brothers captivated me from the moment I read Solid Soul! It was thrilling to watch them fall like giant redwoods as one after another, their hearts were captured by beautiful, intelligent, high-spirited, independent women. I knew that as the youngest Steele and the son most like their father Drew, Gannon would be the one most determined to keep his "Bad News Steele" bachelor status!
At the wedding of his brother Mercury, Gannon stated to all who would listen that he was determined to stay single for the next ten years! Famous last words!!
Having agreed to be interviewed for an article in the magazine his sister-in-law did photography for, he invited the journalist to dinner as a way of apologizing for neglecting to return her calls. The minute he saw Delphine Ryland, I could almost hear the time bomb ticking its way down!
I love the way Brenda Jackson wove all of the Phoenix Steeles into the story, and needless to say, Gannon Steele did not make his ten-year quest!!
Final score: Love 7, Bad News Steeles 0
Read this book, and if you haven't read about the other Steele brothers, read their stories as well!!Thank you Brenda Jackson, for adding spice to my social quarantine!! Greatly appreciated!!!

Delphine Ryland is a freelance writer, and she’s had her share of unfortunate things happen to her. She was stood up right before her wedding because he fell in love with someone else, and her mother was severely sick and she moved in with her to be her caretaker until she passed away.
Gannon Steele is the youngest and the last of the handsome brothers. He claims being a bachelor as a trophy of honor and vows to stick to his 10 year plan before he settles down. The only problem is the moment he set his eyes on Delphine Ryland he was lost.
Delphine is hear to interview Gannon and his trucking company. The number one company across the nation that all the truckers want to work for. She has researched all about trucks, drivers and the company and she’s ready for the interview, but she wasn’t ready for the attraction to Gannon Steele.
This is a wonderful book, about taking chances and falling in love, no matter what plans you may have set for your future when love comes and you know that person is the one for you, you just know.
Brenda Jackson is an amazing writer and this is a book you just have to read.

Claimed By a Steele is a slow burn romance that turned around very quickly. Gannon and Delphine do make a good couple once they get out of their own way, and they're both likable characters. I really liked how this one started and concluded - kind of like it was coming full circle, and of course, there's lots of this great family to round things out. From the parents down to the last of them, the Steele's have certainly made for fun reading, and I kind of hate to see them go. I would've liked a bit more flair for the finale, but Gannon's story is still a solid addition to the series. I know this one is titled Claimed By a Steele, and that's kind of been the theme all the way through, but truly, I think this series is more about the women who claim these alpha males more than the other way round. So, to sum it up, this final book in the series is another curl up on the couch for a couple of hours and escape into a bit of romance story that's sure to please.

I despise rich people. So it's probably my bad for picking up this book. It probably would have been a two star read for me, but ultimately it was the fact that he was rich that sealed it. Unfair, subjective, all that, I get it.
But beyond the subject matter not being for me, I also had a bit of trouble with this book. It seemed like escapist fun at the start, but despite the short length, it just started dragging *on* and *on* because each character had approximately one hang-up and they milked it for all it was worth.
On top of that, the writing just fell flat to me. The dialogue felt stilted, the characters felt one-dimensional, and even the writing felt very flat and lifeless. I feel like if this book was edited just a bit better it would have been a lot of fun to read, but as is, I feel like it was written in a hurry so they could rush it to the printing press. I'll pass on this series.

For all of the followers and readers of the works of prolific Brenda Jackson, it is a sweet and bitter moment indeed as the last brother of the “Bad News Steeles” with the green eyes finds his mate in CLAIMED BY A STEELE. Gannon Steele, the baby brother of Galen, Tyson, Eli, Jonas, and Mercury is looking forward to all the women available to him now that his five brothers are happily married and no longer on the dating circuit. That idealistic moment quickly passes when Gannon meets the lovely, Delphine Ryland.
While I enjoyed Gannon and Delphine’s story, the storyline was predictable from the sexy swagger of the determined successful hero to the issues of the reluctant beautiful heroine. Nevertheless, CLAIMED BY A STEELE brings entertaining closure to the Steele brothers’ series. I recommend it for your reading pleasure.

It's the second book I read in this series and I think I will read the rest because I had a lot of fun in reading it.
It's an engrossing and entertaining story with a sweet romance that made me root for the characters.
It's not fast paced but it's a slow burning romance that creates a real relationship between the Delphine and Gannon, something that goes beyond hot sex and the great chemistry existing between them.
Gannon and Delphine are two interesting and well thought characters. I loved Delphine as she's a strong woman even if she was hurt in the past.
The setting is interesting and Ms Jackson did a lot of research on truck industry and I love how she describe this type of industry.
It was a fun read and I recommend it.

As we close another series of an adored family by Brenda Jackson, it is with bittersweet emotions. Gannon Steele is the last of the "Bad News Steeles" as he and his brothers were so affectionately are known and trust it is not without reason.

A ten-year plan and a sexy freelance journalist is what this Bad News Steele will have to contend with. Is he up for the challenge or will an interview and a road trip be his undoing?

Gannon and Delphine were a great couple to wrap up the Phoenix Steele's family tree. It was a thrill to watch each of them get bitten by the love bug and embrace the women that claim them.

Excellent read and I would recommend this one for your reading pleasure.

*I received a copy of this book from Netgalley.

After reading one of the previous books in this series I was excited to get the chance to pick this one up as well. Once again I love the family dynamics and personalities that come through from Jackson's writing. Also, the pacing of her writing flows perfectly for these quick romance reads.

Gannon knows what he wants, but I appreciate that when he realizes that something special may be in front of him, he's willing to change his 'plan' so to speak. I did find Delphine a little bit unlikable, but her feelings were also understandable considering the things she had gone through. I loved the humor and the way the story progressed and definitely need to read more of Jackson's books in the future.

So much for the ten year plan.

The last son, Gannon and Delphine's story was enjoyable. Gannon talked about his ten year plan to his father, Drew and all of his brothers. He had no desire to get married like his brothers and enjoyed having one night stands with no repeat but for a couple of girls. When we first met Delphine's he was overwhelmed with her beauty and everything else. It was like he received a lightening strike.
He wanted to get to know her better and no one else mattered to him. Their
journey was a good one. Delphine's had issues because of her father and ex-boyfriend. This book was well thought out and had a good delivery. I have read all of the Steele's books and loved them.

Fear of Rejection Meets Assumption and Lack of Communication

Delphine got on my last nerve! She made me not like this story as much as the others in the series. Her assuming every thing negatively because she was hurt by men in the past is just ridiculous! She needs some help! Nothing a good therapist can’t fix. I felt so bad for Gannon. He finally found love and then he’s dump without a conversation. Just shut him out completely over an assumption. In the end they finally work it out and now the last of the Steele’s is finally spoken for. I hope there is a back story book about the parents Drew and Eden Steele like there was about Jonathan and Marilyn Madaris. That would complete the series.

My next encounter with the sexy Steele brothers is just as rewarding as the previous one. Gannon is the youngest of the Steele brothers and not planning on settling down for the next ten years. Journalist Delphine's only experience with love left her heartbroken is there to do an interview not fall in love.

There's a lovely sizzle to this story as the chemistry builds between the wary journalist and the hardened player. The road trip through the southern states leads to passion. The happy ending still seems almost out of reach, but it's so worth the wait.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I'm sorry to see the series end, but thoroughly enjoyed this one. Although part of a series this book can be read as a standalone story.

Although they were attracted to each other from the first meeting, I liked that the author let them get to know each other before moving to intimacy. Love the family aspect of the stoey, especially the respect for mothers and women in general. A great read that I highly recommend.

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

Beautiful End To An Amazing Series

Even though I hate for this series to end, Gannon and Delphine's story was a great way to bring things to a close. As usual, Mrs. Jackson's research was excellent. I now have an even greater respect for truckers. I also have greater understanding and sympathy for the difficulties they and their loved ones endure. I love to travel and I have an adventurous spirit, so taking a trip, through a few states, in the cab of a sixteen wheeler would be fun... So long as my trucker was Gannon Steele.

Gannon is watching as his brothers are finding their forever partners and glad he hasn't been hit by the love bug. That is until he meets the lovely Delphine who is a reporter for a journalist magazine. I really liked this book, it was a pretty quick read for me spent my morning reading it. I liked getting to know the characters and seeing how everything played out in it. I loved seeing the attraction between the two and you cant help but root for the two and see them get together. Overall pretty good book.
