مارتین اسکورسیزی یکی از تاثیرگذارترین فیلم سازان تاریخ سینماست. فیلم های او دامنه ی متنوعی دارند: از مداقه در شخصیت های شکننده و ظریف تا آثار حماسه گون و خشن، مملو از خلافکارانی بی رحم که نهایت شخصیت خود را نشان می دهند. با یادگیری تمهیداتی که اسکورسیزی به کار می گیرد و این که چگونه از فضا و قاب بندی به همراه توانایی کارگردانی اش استفاده می کند، می توانید فیلم هایتان را لبالب از هیجان، غافلگیری و احساسات کنید.
این کتاب با بررسی صحنه به صحنه ی برخی از آثار برگزیده ی اسکورسیزی، به شکلی واضح و کاربردی، تمهیدات این کارگردان را در فیلم هایش تحلیل کرده است و با تفکیک عناصر هر یک از این تمهیدات، به خواننده نشان داده اسکورسیزی چطور از جزئیات برای رسیدن به مقصود مورد نظرش سود جسته است.
بزرگترین ویژگی این کتاب در این است که پس از مطالعه اش این امکان را به خواننده/ فیلم ساز می دهد تا این تمهیدات را بنا به سلیقه و نیاز خود در کارهایش به کار برد.

In this book, the author takes a refreshing new approach to guiding beginners in filmmaking. Rather than discussing the technical aspects of using a camera and lighting, he delves into the analytical aspects of filmmaking. Through the use of movie scenes as examples, he demonstrates filmmaking techniques that help directors capture actors' performances and effectively convey emotions to their audiences.

Personally, I find the analytical approach more engaging as it provides specific examples of the creative use of filmmaking equipment and techniques. However, the book would be more effective as a series of lectures or YouTube videos that include the actual movie scenes being analysed. The use of black and white still images in a book, while necessary due to potential copyright issues in YouTube videos, is not optimal when it comes to demonstrating filmmaking techniques. In addition, I recommend watching the movies or scenes discussed in the book before reading the corresponding chapters to gain a deeper understanding of the material.

Such a brilliant book by Christopher Kenworthy. As an aspiring filmmaker, I'm hugely influenced by Martin Scorsese. I've watched all of his work so far, and I'm eagerly anticipating Killers of the Flower Moon.

This book examines the shooting style used by Scorsese in his films in a detailed manner. It will open your eyes to things you might have missed otherwise. It should be added to the library of every film school.

حالا که سومین کتابشم تموم کردم و فکر میکنم، میبینم چیزی بهم اضافه نکرد فرقی با نخوندنش ندارم. اما باز کتاب یه حالت استانداردی داشت که نمیشه خیلی بهشون ایراد گرفت و نمره کم داد. یه تناقضی اصلا. فیلم های گاو خشمگین گرگ وال استریت هوانورد راننده تاکسی رفتگان و هوگو رو تو این کتاب اورده.
مراقب هم باشیم هوای همو داشته باشیم.

This book was absolutely fascinating. The analysis and use of photography was so great and really showed how the camera work is essential. I learned so much about filming techniques, if your a Scorsese fan or you like cinema in general I would a 100% recommande this !
