Warning: Spoilers Ahead.
Emilia by H.L. Swan is the second installment in 'The Emden' series and it was great. This book was a surprise to me like so many others. In my opinion, it was even better than the first book. After the epic cliffhanger at the end of 'Aiden', I was eager to start this book. The plot takes you on a wild and incredible ride jam-packed full of action, suspense and romance. I would tell you to prepare yourself emotionally because there are some tough moments in there as well as some sweet loving happy times. While there were some moments where the plot seemed impractical, they don't take away from the overall intended storyline of the book.
Both Emilia and Aiden's character were complex and interesting. I particularly enjoyed Emilia's character. She was sweet, stubborn and fierce when needed. Some of her decisions were hare-brained and idiotic but they also ended up saving her. Emilia's light was perfectly balanced by Aiden's darkness. And I loved all the secondary characters. From Ash, Ricky, Howard to even Leo. I previously mentioned that I don't like Aiden's ultra-possessive nature and that's still true. He was too controlling for me. He had to control even the smallest details of Emilia's life. That kind of nature isn't appealing for me. He's also intimidating and really pissed me off at times but I guess that's normal for a guy as hot as him so I'll allow it. He was also very romantic in his own mobterish (I just made that up) ways. Extremely passionate and crazy possessive, and he always stood up for Emilia when he thought she betrayed him. That kind of devotion is hard to find. I just didn't like the controlling/dominant aspects of his personality.
And the epilogue! That epilogue was everything. To be able to know how their lives progressed, and how they grew old together had me so satisfied. I docked this book a star because the ending with the death of Dean felt rushed and just added unnecessary drama. But for lovers of alpha-hero, mafia-type setting, I would totally recommend this book.

This is definitely my favorite book of Emden series! I really liked how the story processed and I absolutely loved the end. While I was reading the end and the epilogue, I had a smile on my face. It’s the perfect way for this story to end. I’m glad I reread it because the epilogue was absolutely beautiful. What I really liked in this book is that we get to see more of Aiden’s thoughts, and we understand how deeply he loves Emilia and how much he cares about the people that are close to him. Overall, a great read that I would recommend to anyone who likes mafia romance books!

May 17, 2021DNF - I can’t even continue to skim. I had a feeling I knew what really happened after the cliffhanger of the last book, and I was correct. Now I’ve got more than half a book left and it’s just silly nonsense with no plot. This should have been 1 book.

If you loved Aiden, I can assure you will love Emilia so much more. The story is so much more captivating and just amazing. I loved how it is Emilia's turn now to save Aiden. One of the things I love the most about this story is that they never doubt their love for each other, although Aiden feels insecure because he thinks Emilia deserves better than him, and someone who would have not put her life at risk so much. Still, their love for each other is unconditional and undoubtedly, they know how strong their love is and how they would give up everything for the other. I love that they are always demonstrating that with actions and not only words. The story in Emilia is much more intriguing. Seriously is a can't-miss read.

I loved reading Aiden on wattpad and always meant to buy the books. I finally got around to buying them on Amazon and I finished both in less than a day! I loved emilia and the way it ended. So glad they got their happy ending. Will definitely be one of the series that I'll return to again and again ❤

After the great and 💔end of the first book, the beginning of this one is totally bleak. My 💔for Emília who was not yet able to accept a life without Aiden. But when she finds out a slight glimmer of hope that her lover is still alive, she does not hesitate for a moment to risk everything ,including her own life, to come to his aid. In this mission, Leo will help her, the new bodyguard. Both will go to Italy and rescue Aiden who is about to die at the hands of a Italian gangster in revenge for the deaths of his sons( killed by Aiden in the first book).
Aiden finally returns home but the nightmares and the fear that Emília is in danger again do not let him fully enjoy this second chance. The most curious thing is that his nightmares are not about his torture and confinement for weeks, but the idea that Emília leaves him for another man. And the fact that Leo agreed to take her with him on the rescue mission, and how he looks at her and interacts with her, makes his jealousy skyrocket. Once again he needs claim Emília as his own and he does it over and over again with beautiful gestures, but above all with 🔥🔥🔥🔥sex.
But the Italian threat continues to lurk in the shadows, and Emilia’s father murderer or released from prison. Aiden just wants to live happily with his girl and start a family with her, but that will have to wait until all threats are neutralized.

He looks at me with such sorrow as we watch the symbol of our love fall onto the soft carpeting. Maybe one day he’ll understand why I did what I did. Love overcomes all!! This story has everything you could want seriously furious love, passion , drama and of course some of the best moments ever. Emilia and Aiden are amazing characters and there love and life in the story just jump off the pages. I can visually see the love & action. Emilia is so freaking brave for Aiden. She knows her man is still alive and go’s for him no hesitation at all. I love that, & Aiden possessive and caring all wrapped into one package. He literally is chained up being rescued & is focused on how Leo is touching Emilia, even though he’s very aware she loves only him! The story is just so perfect, Ashley & Ricky are such amazing characters also. They are all just so adorable when they are together. My biggest thing with this book is the ending, I already love this author but this made me love the book so much! There is a real ending a definite ending. She makes sure we get a vision of there whole life, years and years ahead. Makes sure we , who put so much time into these books understand the outcome of all there sacrifice & love. Literally this book pulled all my heartstrings & left me with happy tears at the end ! ❤️

There are twists in this book, but the best kinds. Also--THAT EPILOGUE. I loved it. That is how you write an epilogue.

Emilia is book two in Emden Series and it picks up exactly where Aiden ends..... Emilia pulls at your heart strings a little more than Aiden does. I know the first few times I read Emilia I cried. yes not afraid to admit it brought me tears. I absolutely adore Emilia.

so i’ve read aiden about three times and now my baby emilia, i’ve read twice! i absolutely adore these characters and it was such a wild ride from wattpad to now published, paperback and in my hands (as an ebook for now). emilia and aiden hold a special place in my heart and i’m really grateful i got to be apart of the ride. i’ll never forget, “slow dance while they scream.” <3

When I started this book, I didn’t want to put it down! Aiden and Emilia have a love story for the books! Truly a great story with all kinds of emotions! I cried happy and sad tears!! Beautiful story from beginning to end! 💕 H.L. Swan has easily become one of my favorite authors! Definitely a must read!

I loved the way this story progressed and I absolutely adored the ending of it. We got to see more of Aiden’s thoughts and feelings and especially more about the depth of his love for Emilia. Overall, a great mafia romance with a possessive MC.

This was my favorite book from the Emden series and would recommend it to anyone who was thinking of reading these books. Just like for the previous book in the series, I would recommend this book for a more mature audience since there are things discussed that are not meant for younger people. I have also liked a book that left me on my toes, and with the ending of Aiden, I could not wait to get my hands on this book. This book has turns in the plot that you could not see from a mile away, but I enjoyed how it included some humor too. I think the humor helped lighten some of the topics being discussed, as well as helped me understand the character more and how they feel. Like in most of the books I have read this year, this book shed a light on the fact that relationships are not always the best thing, and you have to fight for the people you truly love. Emilia had to fight her hardest fight in life for Aiden, but in the end, it was worth it. My reading experience was amazing, and I finished the book in a matter of days. Books that I cannot put down are always my favorites, but this trumps most of the ones I have read. I know I will be re-reading this boom in the near future and hope everyone else feels the same.

Love love love Emilia!!! Really does leave you wanting more!!! From sweet and innocent to a real badass. This is an all time favorite series of mine! Emilia is one of the sweetest leading female characters so down to earth and that something I look for in a story!

First off let me start with thank you so much for finishing the Emden series!! This is one of my favorite series to read and I absolutely LOVE Aiden and Emilia!! These books (Aiden Book 1, Emilia book 2) shows the lengths love can take you! The ups the downs no one can take on these two! “We’re slow dancing, While they scream” You may not know it now but the moment you start these books you won’t be able to put them down!! Hands down recommended 12/10 all day everydayyy!!

I don’t know, maybe I was expecting something more exciting and page, turning than what I got.
This just felt so fast paced and very again, just unbelievable with how everything was coming about with the plot.
I can’t say that I recommend this duet.
Emilia & Aiden our two characters, especially Adien, is that I really wanted to love because this sounds so good I just think that the plot executed poorly.

This is litterly such an amazing book! This is the second part to Aiden and it was astounding<3 I went through so many emotions in this book (even emotions that I didn't know I even had lmfaooo) but this book is so worth reading!! I highly recommend it!

This is one of the most astonishing books I have read in a long time. this is the sequel to Aidan and its absolutely thrill-seeking and deep. H.L Swan gives you room to use your own imagination as she paints the pictures with her brilliant words.

Best doulogy I’ve ever read!!
After the end of the first book I felt on the edge of my seat WAITING for the sequel and oh bOYYY it did NOT, I repeat not disappoint! I cried, I laught, swoomed and screamed. Hands down, the best duology I’ve ever read! I can’t wait to see what more the author published! I’m here for it!
Highly recommended for my fellow 18+ readers who THRIVE for a steamy short series read with lots of interesting, and hot (so so hot), content!!!

Another one sitting read for me. Getting to wrap up Aiden and Emilia’s story was incredible after being left on a gut wrenching cliff hanger in Aiden. Swan killed it with this book as well. I sobbed and fell in love with Aiden and Emilia all over again. Definitely a book I’ve reread more times than I can count. 💛💛
