Drawn to London by a cryptic postcard, a young woman is entangled into a decades old curse.

Abandoned by her father on Firefly Island following the sudden death of her mother, Molly has endured years of apologies for his continued absence. And this year, just like always, a letter arrives three days before Christmas with yet another excuse, another broken promise; leaving her vulnerable to dangers she never imagined.

After a violent encounter with an olive-eyed woman, Molly discovers a discarded Christmas gift containing a postcard with an address scrawled on the back. Impetuously, she boards a plane for London, and tracks down the house and its mysterious owner, Beckett Davis.

Beckett is concealing a dark secret, one which has been haunting him for over sixty years. Molly’s arrival breaths new hope into his heart, and ultimately causes him to make a sacrifice which changes his destiny and hers. Forever.

But at what cost?

Evoking the brooding, gothic romances of Daphne du Maurier and Emily Bronte, the fifth installment of the Firefly Island series will take you down a darker path toward true love.

I loved this story. It's a bit more gothic romance than the previous stories in this series, however, strange things happen to the people who live on Firefly Island, and Molly's experience shows that mysterious happenings can follow the residents who leave the island.

Molly faces another Christmas alone, as her father avoids to meet her since her mother's death. A few days before Christmas she finds a small gift after bumping into a woman, who denies it is hers.
Curious she opens the gift and finds a puzzle box and in it a postcard with an address in London.
For some reason she takes it as an invitation and travels to London to the address on the postcard, where she meets Becket and Bess, two people cursed to be in the house for a long time.
A gothic love story, a little Poe-esque, but with a fairy godmother twist. An interesting, unusual story that was fun to read.

This is my first book in this series and it is quite an unusual story. There are lots of subtle layers and it does draw a bit from other fairy tales, but I really liked it. Beckett is forced to pay for his father’s errors and Beth’s greed. Molly acts spontaneously out of hurt and frustration. Their worlds collide and magic happens. It’s a quick a quick uncommon read.

This is the story of Molly and Beckett. Again she is left alone at Christmas on Firefly Island with only another note with his apologies and an excuse. When she discovers a gift with a London address on the card, she dashes off to find this house. She meets Beckett and they will face more than they bargained for. I enjoyed this fascinating romance. Summoned is a short, suspenseful story about a woman who is tired of being left alone at Christmas by her father. Molly's journey from Firefly Island to London is filled with interesting twists along the way. This is one of those books that once you start reading you don't put down until the last page. I look forward to visiting Firefly Island again. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
