From the renowned bestselling author of The Power of Your Subconscious Mind , an authorized collection of writings that unlock the secret to extraordinary success that lies within each of us
Millions of readers have embraced Joseph Murphy's writings, including the phenomenal bestseller The Power of Your Subconscious Mind , a beloved classic that sits alongside the works of Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, and Norman Vincent Peale. This new collection, authorized by the Joseph Murphy Trust, focuses on prosperity - and the simple yet powerful ways we can focus our attention and beliefs to achieve life goals, obtain riches, and live the life of our dreams.
Whether you are a longtime reader of Murphy's insights or are discovering his work for the first time, this powerful and deceptively simple volume will illuminate the path to success. Comprised of original writings including some that have never been published in book form, along with modern-day updates, examples, and insights for the contemporary reader, the book goes beyond what we've already heard about the Law of Attraction and the power of positive thinking to reveal the ability that each of us has to manifest remarkable change in our lives.
(Arabic: جوزيف ميرفي) Joseph Murphy was a Divine Science minister and author.
Murphy was born in Ireland, the son of a private boy's school headmaster and raised a Roman Catholic. He studied for the priesthood and joined the Jesuits. In his twenties, an experience with healing prayer led him to leave the Jesuits and move to the United States, where he became a pharmacist in New York (having a degree in chemistry by that time). Here he attended the Church of the Healing Christ (part of the Church of Divine Science), where Emmet Fox had become minister in 1931.
In the mid 1940s, he moved to Los Angeles, where he met Religious Science founder Ernest Holmes, and was ordained into Religious Science by Holmes in 1946, thereafter teaching at the Institute of Religious Science. A meeting with Divine Science Association president Erwin Gregg led to him being reordained into Divine Science, and he became the minister of the Los Angeles Divine Science Church in 1949, which he built into one of the largest New Thought congregations in the country. In the next decade, Murphy married, earned a PhD in psychology from the University of Southern California and started writing. After his first wife died in 1976, he remarried to a fellow Divine Science minister who was his longstanding secretary. He died in 1981.
This book is basically about doing magic with your subconscious mind. Now, all I hope is that I could implement these rules in my daily life. Happy reading with it…
Only thing I liked was how to train my kind to visualize what I want and speak to it and cut the negativity. However it was pure spiritual woo wooo trash talk.
This Book as archaic as it is, reminds everyone about the power of subconscious mind. It contains too many references to the religion, therefore at times it was difficult to believe in the affirmations that were provided in the book.
In conjunction with Mark Anastasi's book, I felt this was a good complement filled with positive affirmations. I even took it a step further and recorded myself reading the positive affirmations and listen to them from time to time. I believe that our thoughts are the key to our happiness and cultivating positive affirmations help train our mind to look for the positive in everything. It helped me train my mind to shorten the angry and frustrated moments whereas before they would have gotten the better of me and kept me angry over a longer duration. This book is gold.
I am currently reading the book, and its approach is smooth with minimal repetition, except for learning and memorizing key phrases. It’s a very beautiful book, but it’s heavy and requires focus. The positivity and motivation in the book are really great. I haven’t read Joseph’s first book, The Power of the Subconscious Mind, because, honestly, it didn’t captivate me, but this book really grabbed my attention, and I don’t want it to end.
It definitely wasn’t as good as the original. It is one to skim, highlight, and move on rather than repeat multiple times. Most of the affirmations are reworded Bible verses.
