When wits and steel clash, Lord Cottrell and the Heiress of Cassis find their love stretched between five centuries.
1347 Cassis, Provence As the only surviving member of the reigning noble family, the Plague has taken everyone from Isabel. All she has left is the chateau and her honor. As the Heiress of Cassis, she is betrothed to an enemy but vows to uphold her father’s promise and the marriage bargain he made. But when a man from another time invades her home, her heart betrays her and she must choose between loyalty and love.
1854 England Lord James Cottrell, the heir apparent to an earldom and Cranewell House estate, wants little to do with the provincial life of Victorian England, preferring to time travel at his pleasure. As an additional diversion, he picks up valuables from various centuries for customers. When he accepts the challenge to bring an elderly relative five hundred years into the future, he instead finds a stunning beauty holding a sword at his throat.
As the bond between Isabel and James intensifies, their futures become more uncertain—and more dangerous. The power of love is no match for the power of the Black Death, but James must risk his life for the one woman who commands his heart.
I haven’t read a time travel book in about 50 years but I really loved this one! The fantastic descriptions of the castle and the surrounding village in the 1300s as well as the more “modern” descriptions of England in the 1800s fascinated me. The interactions of Isabel and Lord Cottrell kept me very interested in both time frames! I really enjoyed this story and I am looking forward to reading more from this author. I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
I have to start with an apology to the author, Jo Noelle. When they first sent me this book, I told them that as much as I loved their other books, I didn’t read time travel. They said they appreciated my honesty and to just read the book and give a review. So, I reluctantly agreed. My apologies, ladies, I really did enjoy the book. It kept me entertained and forced me to continue reading to find out what would happen. I won’t go so far as to say it will become my favorite genre, but I am going to have to read more Twickenham Time Travel.
I've always avoided reading time travel books because I was afraid they would be jumpy and hard to follow. I am so glad I read this book. It was a wonderful sorry with very well written characters. Jo Noelle painted beautiful pictures of each of the cities and time eras. I felt like I was visiting each place as I read. Rescuing the Heiress of Cassis has become a favorite book in my collection. I look forward to reading more of this series.
This is the first book by Jo Noelle that I have read and I really enjoyed it! I have read other books in the Twickenham Manor series and I love the time travel idea. I thought this book was really well written and I loved the characters. I loved how the hero had to change to feel he was worthy of the heroine’s love. I thought this was a great book about find out who you are and what you want. I loved how the characters feel in love quickly but it took a while before they felt they were good enough for each other so we saw a lot of growth. I would recommend this book to others.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
A wonderful story of ancient times, filled with hints of many emotions. This time travel book has two sisters reunited, saved from a dreaded disease and brought forward to a safer time. The drama of time travel, learning the new era, and a new love from the time period is brilliantly woven in these pages. A great ,easy to read book that will capture you immediately and have you turning pages .
Loved seeing James come into his own. There's a lot of growing up that happens in this book, and stuff happening, from the Black Death to Victorian life to modern life. And I loved the kelpie! I listened to the audiobook this time around. The narrator did a great job!
I love this series but out of all the books this one has been the most intriguing to me. The authors were able to seamlessly intertwine 3 time periods. Plus it included the narrative of multiple characters. This book was not what I expected - and I loved that I was surprised! Great story!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's an engaging & charming time travel romance. Shamay, has asked her grandson & close family friend, James, to travel to the 14 century. When they arrived, they were surprised at who they found. I loved everything about this story!!

MY TAKE What a fun addition to this series. James has been in the other books. He's always been a player and has avoided responsibilities by traveling through time. He's assured his sister May that he's no Rake, but he's not a man to be tied down to any one woman.
Until Isabel holds a sword to his throat. He finds himself drawn to her which pulls him in two different directions. Part of him--for the first time--is willing to consider something longer lasting with her. A part of him still wants to run away. And poor Isabel doesn't understand his contradictory and hurtful behavior toward her.
Their journey toward their happily ever after spans the centuries. When he finally makes up his mind, he shows just how well he understands her.
The book includes some fun new fae creatures and yummy treats--though the latter might be best eaten with caution.

Having now read through 9 of the Twickenham "Time Travel" collaborations by 3 different authors, I think I can safely say that I am getting a feel for it and enjoying the continuation of characters from previous books. I will say that I enjoyed Jen Geigle Johnson's two books (the first ones that I read.) Laura Beers three books were similarly enjoyable. I rated all of them 3 stars because "I Liked" them (can't say they were "Amazing"... but definitely enjoyable.) I have yet to read Johanna Evelyn's 1 book, Donna K. Weaver's 3 books, or Laura D. Bastian's 3 books. I sincerely hope that the upcoming stories are better than the 3 by this author or I may end up ditching the series altogether, as much as I love Time Travel + Regency and/or Victorian romances. For whatever reason, Jo Noelle (mother-daughter writing team) seemed to have gotten side-tracked from the elements of romance and time travel, and were stuck in some kind of "Bippity-Boppity-Boo" fairy dust bunny trail. Entirely too much relying of the "magic fairy dust" aspect. It got to the point where it just felt ridiculous, like I was watching a Disney cartoon, but without the talking mice. Yes, the romances were sweet, but the focus should have been on development of the romance and how the obstacles were overcome... without having to rely so much on pixie dust or lightning zapping from fingers to magically change clothes or food or... anything. Honestly, my take-away feeling was that the authors got talked into this collaboration but their creativity was challenged by the time travel trope.

I would have gone for 4 stars except that this book took longer to read simply because I was SO distracted by the difference in time in the future opposed to Isabel's time. I didn't understand that her sister could be so much older in such a seemingly short time; yet James and some of the others travelled to the future at least for a month at a time and stayed the same age. I also thought that May's husband was Henry, but he is later called Saay... something. Trying to overlook the parts that made no sense to me, I was able to enjoy the story. It has a lovely, though unexpected, end. I would have liked to read about James telling her about the bet. That turned out to be 'much ado about nothing' because nothing came of it. I enjoyed the 1st book (the only other one I've read) more. The actual is nice though.
Wow, what an imagination this author has! This is the first book I’ve read in this series. It worked as a stand-alone, I believe it would be much better read in order. There are numerous book by multiple authors in this series. I would love to read them all. This book travels from 1347 to 1854, with a brief stop in modern day. It was so interesting how the author pulled it all together. The characters were well written and needed to dig deep in themselves, before they could give themselves to another in love. It was fun to read and was a clean romance.
A wonderful time travel story about finding love in the past. Sent to the past to get a relative for a dear friend but coming back with a different one changes James's life forever. She thought she would never see her sister again until two strangers from another time show up and wisk her off to the future. Enjoy this delightful tale by a wonderful author Jo Noelle. A truly enjoyable read.
I love these time travel books snd this one is one of my favorites! It is so refreshing to read a romance novel with out sex and foul language. That's not to say romance is not in the air, there is tension and attraction but not prove after page of graphic sex. Jo Noelle weave an amazing tale of love that includes faery dust and magic!
What a great story! I throughly enjoyed it very much! Very memorable characters and storyline! Reading all four of the books back to back gives you a few inconsistencies in the storyline but also a lot of thoughts to figure every thing else out. Great job on this series I loved it and I highly recommend this series to you!
I really liked this book. Isabel is a strong, independent woman. She knows her duty, but she also knows what she wants. James is very likable. He is a fierce protector. He just needs to figure out how to know his own heart and mind. I loved the last chapter. So sweet.
Twickenham was my first foray into the time travel genre, and I have enjoyed each one! This one does not disappoint, in fact it's my current favorite! Isabel and James's story is full of romantic suspense, fun and interesting history! An extremely enjoyable read!
Don’t ever say never. Seems whenever someone says it it’s going to come back and haunt them. This James’s story and it what he did with that knowledge is how the story goes. Loved it.
This is a great book for romantic time travel. A book in which every partener travel through time, and get the best of it. A book that makes the reader wonder if it really possible .
Isobel and James A great love story unfolds. I highly enjoyed this story. The characters were wonderful and their secrets made an intriguing story. This is book 4 of the Twickenham Manor Time Travel Romance series but a stand alone also.
I think this may be my favorite of the books I've read in the Twickenham manor series. I loved that there was so much focus on Aunt Nellie. She is such an interesting character. I like to spend more time with her. And while I don't typically read time travel books I find this series very fun. Loved the story. Loved that they were in three different time periods. Loved the characters. This was an enjoyable read.
Sex: no Language: no Violence: no *I won this book in a giveaway and voluntarily chose to review it.
