Dallas Rider has lived with the pain and repercussions of her father's execution for years. Now, The same government that put him to death, wants her help.

Though her laundry list of skills does come in handy, it was her depression that assured the Bureau for Covert Initiatives she was perfect for the job.

It's simple enough... Infiltrate the home of a black-market arms dealer by conning his lonely son into falling in love with her.

But it all hits too close to home, and she can't handle the flood of emotions that come with duping an already fragile teenager, pushing him closer to the edge she's already tried to jump off.

Desperate to ensure no more lives are lost, she accepts the mission, but is it doomed to fail one way or the other?

A New Throne was such a fun read. Growing up, I had fantasies of being a spy when I got older, and this book really allowed me to indulge in that fantasy once more. It was fast-paced and with memorable characters, I loved every second of it. I adore Dallas. Her personality and just everything about her is just *chef's kiss*. I love the friendship between Dallas and Ethan. It's so wholesome and beautiful. Also, am I supposed to be shipping Dallas with Jason? Because I kind of do . . . Anyway, I loved it. I'm going to devour the 2nd book in The Queen of Thieves series now.

This was entertaining. Who among us hasn’t thought about what it would be like to be a teenage spy?!? So as a concept I enjoyed it. It was the overall execution that missed the mark for me. I wish we were given a little more backstory on the Dallas and on the organization that recruited her. I think spending more time with her outside the mission would have helped me connect better with her. However, this was a quick and easy read, with some fun banter and a pretty amazing friendship, even thought Dallas is burden by heavy feelings of depression and suicide.
