Why is this a five star?? Idk! It just kinda slapped yk? It just was so cute! And I love that the typical conflict actually made sense! Idk it just slayed… we’ll see how I feel abt it in a few days!
While spending a night in jail following an a!altercation with a reporter and his cameraman, Dalton Ruff and a few of his teammates in the Denver Storm football team make a bet about finding their first love and dating her then kissing her before Christmas, which was one week away.
Dalton flies home to Florida to spend Christmas with his brother and his family. While running along the beach he literally bumps into his first love, Lydia.
It has been seven years since Lydia had seen Dalton. He still looked amazing but she just doesn't want to get together again because she knows he will just leave her again like he did in college.
Through a whirlwind romance and a scary stalker, will Lydia and Dalton finally stay together or will old prejudices tear them apart?
Carly Morgan has written a wonderful story about rekindling lost love and overcoming unjustified fears. It's one of those you just don't want to put down.
This was a great book about football and the commitments made by the players and their friends. The fact that a ball player was injured and then had to put up with his friends joshing him about finding a girl to love and marry. This book brings a lot of things into play the facts that playing one person against the other is not a great idea as too much can happen and many people can be hurt. Please consider your thoughts and sayings before you speak them. This way you do not hurt others by saying unforgivable things. This was a Free read and one I thoroughly enjoyed reading. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Dalton and Lydia dated in college until he was offered a pro football job in Denver. Lydia's dad, a professional football player, deserted his wife and young child and scarred Lydia. She broke up with Dalton because she assumed he'd leave her eve actually for an adoring fan. Fast forward years and their story unfolds in sweet, tenderness as Lydia learns Dalton isn't like her dad. Very good story.
The Risky Groom A simple wager, find your first love or the one that got away and share a kiss before Christmas Eve. For Dalton, he literally ran into "the one that got away" in the least likely place. Secrets. A stalker. Professional careers. Misconceptions. He has a lot to work through to avoid a repeat of their first time around.
I throughly enjoyed this book! Good job, Ann Hardy! I loved how Dalton had always been able to see beyond her words, and figure out that she had something else holding her back. He loved her enough to see through her rejection and not take it personally and get angry at her. He just loved her like Jesus loves us!
This is a refreshing and thoughtful love story with characters that will just steal your heart and lift your spirits with their journey towards true love.
I really enjoyed both characters, very well written. Her hot and cold was a little annoying, but then she got it under control. They had a great foundation of friendship for their relationship and sense of humor. Really enjoyed the book, and highly recommend it.
Carly and Dalton have been in love for a long time, but she has been listening to her play-girl mother over and over telling her love isn't worth it. Carly's dad left them a long time ago, and she is afraid that Dalton will do the same. It was a good story, well written and I did enjoy it!
First love and forever? What better time to find your first love then during the holidays! I loved these characters who haven’t seen each other for years, but can rekindle the flame that never went out!
This is an enjoyable book set at Christmastime. I love the story and the characters. The road to happily ever after for this couple was bumpy but they got there. Very entertaining book.
When a couple of the Denver Storm players get arrested they make a bet that they will spend Christmas week trying to get the one who got away back. Enjoyed the story. I love second chance romance.
I read this book in one day and it was wonderful. Miss Hardy was a good writer plus she knew how to keep the reader guessing and wondering about which way the story would turn.
