I think that a member of the target audience would give it at least a 4th star, but I had too many problems with the book, as it is. At first I thought that some of the problems with the odd character development came from the fact that I hadn't read the first two, but after reading reviews of those, no, the characters were never really explained or developed in those, either. The story, set in a world that couldn't possibly be Minecraft, for trademark reasons, is a peculiar mix of weird humor and weird fantasy. The reason why the zombies are abandoning their task, for example, is funny by being weird, rather than by being inherently funny. The "action/adventure" parts are a tad annoying. Having not read the first two volumes, I found the character descriptions at the start of the book to be peculiar and annoying. After reading the story, they were still peculiar and annoying, especially the entry for Carter, and all of them had to have been written by the "Pat" character.
"I received this book for free from Goodread's giveaways for an honest review."
This graphic novel is geared for elementary school level. Instead of reviewing it myself, I am using the opinion of a true Minecraft addict; my 8 year old son. "Five star. Great read for kids Grade 1-5. I suggest you read it yourself if you want to know what happens." So I ended up reading it after all.
My review. A tale of good vs evil and self discovery. The graphics are great and the storyline is fun. At over 200 pages, the book may seem like a lot for young kids, but it really is a quick read. It took my son about an hour to finish. My son did say that he felt ready these books in order would make them easier to understand, but they can be enjoyed out of order as well.
I love their books so much!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HEROBRINE IS EVIL JEN AND JEN'S FATHER. I was also surprised by the Mayor and Captain Cookie's betrayal. This book was just full of twists and turns and so much fun. I actually like and feel bad for evil jen now and hope they stop calling her that and come up with another name for her. I can't wait for the next book to find out who the Jens' mother is! Is it someone we know? Hopefully the next book comes out soon!

Only desperate GN readers/Minecrafters will pick this up, in my experience watching my elementary students with the first series’ titles. The inane plot has our two MCs and their evil counterparts encountering new enemies in new scenarios, here it’s a zombie amusement park. NOT worth the $20 price tag unless there are devoted followers of these YouTubers in your audience.
There is good, competent artwork in this book, which tells a somewhat kooky and unfocused story about evil twin sisters, a journey to the underworld via holes made with dynamite in the interdimensional barrier between the real world and the underworld, evil fathers, loyal friends, and quicksand. It's a fun read that won't make you think very hard.
it's a good book about popularmmos. jen finds the rainbow sheep they named mr.rainbow who gives jen two lucky blocks and one of them sent them to the underworld
I read this book because Popularmmos & GamingWothJen are both of my favorite YouTubers and think they should write more books, but sadly, they broke up/divorced
Probably the best one of the series. A ton of plot twists and new characters and the story goes along well. Although I very much recommend reading the others before this one otherwise you will probably be very confused lol
