Tsutomu Nihei (弐瓶 勉 Nihei Tsutomu, born 1971) is a Japanese manga artist. His cyberpunk-influenced artwork has gained a strong cult following. He has a relatively large community of fans in Germany where his manga Blame!, NOiSE and Biomega were published by Ehapa. Blame! was also published in France and Spain by Glénat, in the US by Tokyopop and in Italy by Panini Comics.
At first he studied architecture and later it is shown up in his manga works with drawing huge structures. This became one of his general theme that makes his manga unique. His works are usually in black and white. He is also an avid fan of the video game series Halo, as he mentions in his commentary section in the Halo Graphic Novel.
This series is a lot less moody than works like Blame! or Biomega while still being very much a Nihei project. His experimentation with a different art style is interesting, with the lighter line weight and more briefness to the action scenes. With the more recent editions, including this one, the story is really picking up speed and has become very much a good, if too short, read.
I'd definitely call this Nihei-lite since it de-emphasises the shock value of some of his darker series. However, it has his most human characters of anything I've read of his. The progression from "gruff stoic guy to doesn't talk" to "generic anime dumb guy" in Knights of Sidonia was interesting enough, though the characters wouldn't have held interest for 15 volumes if Gary Stu didn't randomly fall in love with the twenty storey alien flesh mecha with anxiety instead of the dozen other people throwing themselves at him, but I digress.
Well then, the series actually got pretty interesting in this volume! The fight scenes felt way better and much more intense than the prior volumes. This is mostly due to the fact that it wasn't over one roughly five seconds, and felt like there was some actually gravitas to the stakes in this volume. The fight Etherow has without Titania was actually interesting! It was nice to be able to see what Etherow's head space is like during a battle and how his mind works when trying to fight. Even though the battle itself was extremely short. The cliffhanger was a fairly big one, so I am interested to see how the story will continue from there!
Pues siendo justos es más de lo mismo: Etherow, Kersha y Titania siguen su camino para enfrentarse al malvado imperio que ha acabado con sus hogares. Se enfrentan a nuevos Glenes Ortónomos, más poderosos que los anteriores.
WOAAAAAAH WHAT JUST HAPPENED- I need more explanation- The fights are amazing *not surprised* but i haven't read this serie in some time so i kinda forgot what Titania is trying to save them from-
