Straight-laced Abigail Winston finds herself in desperate need of a job, and begs her best friend for a job at her club, Clique. But suddenly Abby finds herself not only attracted to the club life, but also to her best friend: Sheridan.
Though billed as an erotic romance, the sexual escapades are woven beautifully in to the tapestry of the plot, the intricate mesh dispels all notions of gratuitous sex usually associated with this genre.
The author breathes life into the main heroine straight-laced Abigail Winston, as she comes to terms not only with the failure of her relationship with her husband but also an acceptance of herself and her new sexuality, and even through the haze of her difficult emotional situation her spirit shines brightly, beautifully.
To the conservatively inclined, an open-mind will go along way in shining a light on true gift this read can offer.
What a sexy little read! I was intrigued by the story and immediately liked the main character, Abigail. She is strong willed and knows exactly what she wants. It was a nice change from the normal plot line of a woman who works in a fetish club and meets the man of her dreams. None of this here! Abigail is fierce and a great lead, and the scenes in this book were quite steamy. This novella was a nice set up for the series and I look forward to reading more.
Whilst short, Clique is a well written story that sets the scene for an interesting series. I usually read large novels but enjoyed the faster pace of this book. In future additions to the series I would like to see more character development, of which this first entry sets up future sequels to do so.
