Oh My Goodness. I have loved reading these amazing books. You feel so invested in the characters and story when you read them.These books were gripping, well written and the chemistry between the characters was just awesome!!

I want to start by saying I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout in exchange for a fair and honest review. I did not finish the books so I can't review, I reaf the first book of the collection about 3/4 of the way. The story is set in the futur, after an apocalypse, and the reign of King of Braylare. The first story is of Prince Aaron, one of his sons and his relationship with Lorelei, one of his twelve courtesan, each brother gets 12 virgins, which they replenish at times. The premise was interesting but too slow moving and I was bored, and since it's a collection, I gave up. I in no way want to penalize the writer, it is worth the read, and I might get to it when I am in that frame of mine. But I promised a review. From what I can tell the other books focus on the other brothers. Sorry!

I really tried with this book, but there was nothing Dark about it at all. Its not really about captives as such either. The characters were stiff and lacked chemistry between them. The sex scenes were disjointed and brief. I must admit that the book got slightly better as we moved to other stories. The first two were shockingly boring and i skipped most of the second one. I did however plow on with the others but still didn't keep me captivated. The female leads were simple minded and submissive (not just in the bedroom). The main Heroes were boring and two dimensional. I'm not into daddy/little girl romances and pretty much this was the main theme through the book. Sorry it was just not for me at all.

I've not read anything by Allisson West before, so when I offered this book from Booksprout, I thought I'd give it aa try. And am I glad I did. This book contains 4 books, all with with dark, dominant alphas and the strong, submissive women. What starts out as intense chemistry, becomes so much more. They are all well paced, steamy, and very se*y reads. You can buy all four stories for less than $5 or read all for FREE with your KU subscription.

This has been an interesting journey; following Aaron around as he escapes the palace to help his concubines live a life not in slavery! Plenty of action, with rebels over taking the thrown. Aaron over-taking the rebels. Can Aaron remain the king? What of his brother's? Aaron has wonderful intentions, but as they say, you can't make everybody happy!

My rating is between a 3 and 4 star. Just a bit of a slow read for me.

I didn’t recall ever reading Allison West when I saw an opportunity to read this collection for an honest review and was intrigued. Is there a better way to “meet” an author, than four stories with one cover? I love collections like this.

I very much enjoyed all stories. I did have a re-readable favorite and I’m sure each reader will have theirs, but I honestly expected at least one to be just okay. I’m pleased to say all stories were great. Dominant alpha males, strong submissives and exciting plots.

Recommend!

This is a collection of 4 full length books, the first two are connected and seem to be part 1 and 2 of the same series. The last 2 are independent stories. Each of them has a dominant male who wants to look after the female who is also a strong character. They are all well-written and enjoyable with the author doing a great job with both world and character building.

One, if not all, of these stories will appeal to the avid reader who likes to dabble in a variety of themes, including BDSM master and slave, intergalactic abduction and a two-part dystopia series revolving around a royal family and the woman who are their courtesans. Although each story has an alpha at the helm, the women are all strong, determined and resilient, refusing to "rollover" even when forced to do so. These stories will entertain you for many hours.

This was a fantastic box set. Dark Captive Collection of the future after the world falls apart. The apocalypses has arrived. You have slave trade and women treated like property. All the couples have wonderful chemistry and the stories keep you reading until the end. Loved that each of the women have strong personalities. Each story had plenty of steam, action, and suspense. I missed the part about the Sci Fi alternate world description so this wasn’t what I was expecting. My fault though.
Hard to get into this genre, but the storylines were interesting. If you like captivity romances with a sci fi twist then you’ll like having these four stories in one place to binge read your heart out!

Great characters, well written and great plots in each book. I enjoyed all three books and once I started one I could not put it down, I just had to know how it turned out. These had enough action, steam and suspense to keep me reading. Will read more from this author.

I really enjoyed this collection. They are well written, with great characters and the couples had amazing chemistry, and the storylines engaging. I loved the alphas in each story, but the strong women in each really held my interest. A wonderful collection and one I recommend.

A collection of 4 steamy, dark romance reads. Great characters, entertaining stories with great world building and fast-paced steamy stories. These reads take place in a future apocalyptic world and the stories really draw you in. I was hooked from beginning to end of each read. I loved it.

The Victorian Shift
ONE STEP FORWARD AND THREE STEPS BACK

I enjoyed this futuristic, post-apocalyptic, dystopian world. The calendar year may read 2125, but after the government had crumbled, the new regime decided that they would revert to the Victorian era of nearly 300 years prior. Women have no rights, are expected to be docile and obedient; they will wear long gowns and speak and act like a proper lady. Men are in charge and expected to keep their women in line. Women are placed in programs and prisons to be “trained” in appropriate behavior, and they are given to a master to obey, and if they get out of line, they will be harshly punished.

The plot of this fantastic story that I really hope is the beginning of a series has Piper in a cage, like an animal in prison, Charlie is on his first day at the facility, and they are bombed where she escapes. Rebels need women, and she is one of their chosen targets. It is a battle between a rebel group and Charlie to protect and keep her alive, finding her sister Ruby and a new way of life. Not all believe in the Victorian shift in government, a select group in Montana live in a Western lifestyle compound, work together as a co-op, and that is where this trio will head. The story has some intense moments, dominant men, even in the compound, plenty of spankings, angst, and life and death moments.

Jailed Little Jade
INTERGALACTIC TRAVELING THROUGH A PORTAL

I enjoyed this sci-fi, time-travel with a unique spin on intergalactic planets and humans. Not all humans are earthlings; some come from Adair. What happens when Holden has his new neighbor, Jade, over for dinner, and she opens a piece of mail with his permission, but what is inside is the galactopter he had used to travel from Adair to earth? When she clicks it and sets it into motion, they are pulled into the portal and back to his home planet. The plot is unique and kept the pages turning as we visit Adair and some of its unusual methods, including age regression, having Poppas in charge of little ones, and Jade is now expected to be undergoing reform. The dialog is entertaining and even has a few laughing out loud moments. Will they be able to make it back to earth now that their portal has been destroyed?

The Murderess
PRINCE AARON AND LORELEI

This series is a spin-off of the Gem Apocalypse series. Brayleigh is under the rule of King Gideon, and he has four sons, Princes August, Henry, James, and Aaron. Each month 18-year-old woman must report to the castle to be considered for the Harem. Each Prince has 12 courtesans, and as they decide to dismiss one or more of their courtesans, then they chose new ones from the monthly selection. Aaron does his best to help his courtesans by taking them away to escape being sold on the slave market. In this dystopian world, Aaron does not agree with much of his father and brother’s ways and even supports a rebel cause. Lorelei was a pawn used by a greedy uncle and sold as a slave. As Aaron and Lorelei form a bond, both of their worlds change. This fast-paced story has a great cast of characters, lots of angst, witty dialog, life-and-death moments, and mystery and suspense.

Betrayed by Blood
NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED

This story kept me on the edge of my seat and captivated as the pages turned, and Brayleigh’s monarchy changes overnight. From a group of rebels who actually had the support of Prince Aaron, the kingdom is overthrown by those who are determined to stop the slave traders and abuse of virgins to being made courtesans. With the aid of an unlikely woman, once rejected as a courtesan and then sold into sexual slavery by an evil uncle, Lorelei and Aaron form an alliance for a better government. But evil still lurks with Prince Henry and his plans. The plot twists offer a fast past story with all its mystery and suspense, good versus evil. Can King Aaron and Queen Lorelei make Brayleigh a happy place to live for all its inhabitants? Will they ever be able to find other lands after the Gem Apocalypse?
