The first time they meet it’s by chance.

The second is surely a coincidence.

The third...it’s either destiny or he’s a stalker.

Renee Hamilton has a thing against men in uniform. In her experience, they play hard, lie harder. Marco Rossi has a thing for feisty brunette women with a backbone and a smart mouth, especially one in particular who's playing hard to get.

She’s fiercely independent and wants better for herself.
He loves helping people so much it’s literally his job.

Worst case scenario, they crash and burn.

Lucky for Renee, Marco has a hose, he knows how to use it, and he happens to love putting out all kinds of fires; real or otherwise.

I always said I wanted a show stopper. Something tells me, I may have just found one.

Who is this person that just melted in a swooning pile of goo over a sweet and angst-free romance? I have no idea who this bitch is. I don't know her. I'm seriously questioning my entire existence right now and I am not ok, okay?! I. Am. Not. OK.

You guys. This book. *happy wiggle* It was just so stinking cute.

Now if you know me or follow my reviews, you know I don't gravitate towards sweet romances. But sometimes a girl just needs a good hit of sweet and steamy. And when that happens, who better than BJ Harvey to serve it up. Because let me just tell you, fellow angst whores, once you meet Marco Rossi, you'll be converters too.

Do you come to ladies' night and try to use your big muscles and suave moves often? Or maybe you just say "I'm a firefighter; I've got a big hose and I know how to use it' and wait for women to swoon and fall at your feet?"
My lips curve into an amused smirk. "Would it work on you? Because my next move is to take them to the firehouse and show them my big truck. Then, if they're really good, I'll let them slide down my long fireman's pole."

I want to clarify that while it was a light-hearted and easy read, it was not even a little cheesy. Which is always my fear when reading romance like this and why I gravitate to all of the angst. It was full of depth and wonderful characters and set the foundation for a fantastic series that I'm already craving my next hit of.

Renee is exactly the kind of heroine I love to read about it. She's a take no prisoners professional. Independent to a fault and she don't need no man, okay? She's got some baggage from her previous relationship but she also doesn't let it define her. She's focused on her career and never sees Marco coming.

Marco is....*swoon*. GOD. This man was sheer perfection. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. He's a gentleman. He's a sweet talker that means what he says and says what he means and I couldn't get enough of his woo. And ladies, his woo game is STRONG.

This was a cute, sweet and steamy read that I devoured in one sitting. It has just the right splash of conflict to keep things interesting and full of swoon and romance that will put a smile on your face and keep it there.

OMG .. My bad! This book released two days ago and I am just now reading over my notes to tell you guys all about it! *runs* #badblogger!!

Okay, enough about me, lets talk about this delicious morsel of greatness!! BJ hit the swoon happy sigh factor out of the park with Show Stopper! There is a lot of fun to be had between these pages but if you’ve read this author in the past, I’m not telling something you don’t already know. The one-liners alone were epic enough to have me smiling from ear to ear. The fact that the story was not conflict driven was an even bigger plus because it just wouldn’t have fit these two. Don’t get me wrong, obviously there’s a conflict but it was dealt with very little to-do about it. The story was flirty mor than anything else and it was a delight to read.

Every time I come to the end of one of BJ’s books I immediately want to pick up another one. She’s so on-point when it comes to plot and characters that her books are almost always ridiculous #wins for me. Go forth and enjoy this entertaining, light-hearted, sexy read!

Renee doesn't need a man, especially one in a uniform. But Marco meets her as she's showing him and his sister a house, and she knocks his world off its axis.

I was already intrigued to begin with, and now more than ever, I can't wait to find out more about the brunette goddess. I've always said I wanted a show stopper. Something tells me, I may have just found one.
Marco and his family are persistent and Renee's finding it hard to remember why she was so adamant she didn't want to give Marco a chance. After all, he's nothing like the other man in uniform who used to be in her life. No, Marco is a big, sexy firefighter with a huge heart and shows her things her ex never did.
Respect. Honor. Love. The three cornerstones of my relationship with Marco. The three things he's given me from the start.
I've read quite a bit of BJ Harvey's writing and enjoyed all of it, but Show Stopper is definitely my favorite of hers by far. Marco and Renee are that one in a million couple who make their mark on my mind with their innate sweetness, their smokin' chemistry, and more than their fair share of witty dialogue. Though this is a a feel good rom com, it's substantial in character with no fluff involved, lots of steam and a heart enough to light up their Chicago sky. I loved it and all the people who made up Renee and Marco's world.

Well we’re off to a great start with this new series by BJ Harvey.

Show Stopper was a fun, sexy and entertaining story!! I loved every word. I have to say Marco totally stole my heart in this book!! I even loved Renee...she was the perfect match for Marco.

This book is a light hearted and low angst story. If you are looking for that book for a lazy sunday or lighten your spirits, this is the book to read. BJ Harvey is the queen of light hearted swoony romances. But she does it without making the story over the top or too cheesy. I always fall in love with her stories and the characters she introduces us to. I can’t help but have a smile on my face while reading her books.

Show Stopper is the latest romance novel by BJ Harvey. It is a standalone novel in an interconnected series. Each book will be about a new couple, but we will see past couples in these stories. This is also a spin off from her Cook Brothers series, but that series doesn’t have to be read to enjoy this book. This story is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story was great. I also loved that there wasn’t drama for the sake of drama in this story. Again this was a low angst book and I loved it!!!

In this story we follow the Marco and Renee. Marco is the Lieutenant of the local firehouse and also Skye’s (heroine from Hard Work, Cook Brothers #4) older brother. Renee is a local realtor She just so happened to meet Marco by accident when Skye drags Marco to one of her showings. What begins then is a number of random meetings and Marco’s challenge of wearing Renee down. Will Renee be able to open her heart to Marco after being burned in the past?? Read this book to find out.

I loved Renee….she was the perfect heroine for Marco. She was fiercely independent and sassy, but also had a vulnerable side. And Marco…..talk about SWOON!!! I loved him something fierce. You definitely want to meet Marco and the rest of the Rossi clan.

I look forward to reading the future books in this series. Next up is a single dad romance and I just LOVE that trope!!

Add this book to you TBR list and 1-click it once it releases, you won’t be sorry!!!!

Oh my, this book is amazing! I loved the Cook Brothers but holy hotness these Rossi men sure know how to make you melt with their swoon-worthy ways. I literally had a smile on my face from beginning to end because I enjoyed every moment of this story.

"The one who makes me want to buy a ticket because I know deep in my bones that if I play my cards right, she might just be the headline act for the rest of my life. "

Marco Rossi may be many things... sexy, determined, cocky, but when he knows what he wants nothing will stand in his way to get it. Renee is one of those women... sassy, beautiful, tells-it-like-it-is with no regret and the one man she shouldn't want is the one she can't stop thinking about. Marco and Renee were fun, witty and so damn swoony that you'll be crushed when you get to the end of their story because you'll want SO MUCH MORE of Lieutenant and Princess!!!

"There's never going to be anyone else, princess, and I know how so fucking lucky I am to be loved by you."

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really nice and easy read. No real angst, and just see lovely characters that we got to discover. Renee and Marco are perfect for each other, even though Renee has some past issues holding her back from things.

I enjoyed the banter between the two of them, and the ease of things in each others presence. There are also some great secondary characters in this, some we already know, and some that I can't wait to get to know more about.

This was a great fluffy read after a couple of more serious books, and I look forward to more from this series.

I heard more about Marco from Skye's story and although he played the protective brother in that book I did not imagine him to be that sweet! Don't get me wrong, he's still got that manly alpha way about him that gets me dreamy every single time.

When it comes to the relationship between he H and h, I quite liked that Renee had a problem with a man in uniform and specifically him because it made Marco fight even more for her. I usually have a problem with someone taking another person for granted but his cockiness about Renee belonging to him was hoot! And he actually did his best to woo her. Although Renee knew from tbe beginning that she wants him, she still gave him a run for his money which made this story even more delicious.

These Italian men have loads of potential and I am happy Marco has other siblings because it means more books coming our way. Whoop whoop!

I had a hard time finishing this book. It's a good cover and it has good reviews. I don't understand how it rates so high. It's a short book (200 pages) and it reads more like a novella than a novel. The writing is choppy and it doesn't feel like much of a story. If you like non-stop sexual innuendo with sex scenes, you may like this book and not care if there's anything more to it.

I didn't feel we were given enough information to determine if we should care about the main characters. I never did. I also didn't think we were shown love. What we're shown of their relationship is about sex and lust.

The author incorporates some concepts into the book (Marco and his family, Grandmother as a pistol) that seem at odds with a book meant to be just about people having sex. There were a lot of people randomly thrown into 200 pages and it might have been better to use the words devoted to some of them to build out the main characters more.

In the end, the book fell flat for me. I feel like I was told all the important things and couldn't invest in these characters.

I feel like it has been forever since we have had a BJ Harvey story hit our kindles. I know it hasn't been that long - but then again 2020 has been about eleventy-three years long already.

We have briefly met Marco Rossi in the Cook brothers books, but it is fine if you dive right into this new spin off series.

After reading a few darker, more angsty books lately, Show Stopper was just what I needed this week.

I freaking LOVE Marco Rossi. I need one of my own. I love his persistence. I love his heart. Gah, go away Renee, I am going to jump into my Kindle and steal him from you.

Renee is a real firecracker. She is wary of men like Marco, and it brings out

I just couldn't wait to turn each page and find out where their story went next.

It was great seeing bits and pieces of Marco's sister Skye from the previous series, and I have adored getting to know a little of the rest of the Rossi clan. There are great secondary characters that I cannot wait to see get their HEA.

Please do not make me wait too long, Ms Harvey

5 star Review Show Stopper (Chicago First Responders #1) by B.J. Harvey
Book one in the latest series from B.J.Harvey and if Show Stopper is anything to go by, them Ms. Harvey has another winning series on her hands. This is firefighter Marco Rossi and Renee Hamilton’s story and it ticked all the boxes for me.
This was an entertaining read that drew me in and had me riveted from the first to the last chapter. I really liked Marco when he first appeared in the Cook Brothers series and this book has only cemented it. Renee is a smart, independent, sassy woman who I could imagine as a friend.
The chemistry between them is intense and you could feel it sizzling any time they were together. The banter and camaraderie between Marco and his brothers was laugh out loud at times and added to my enjoyment of the story.
This was a fun, light hearted read with characters that you cannot help but become invested in and I am excited to read more in this series. There is nothing that I did not enjoy about this book.

Marco is the perfect package as he is close to his family, a loyal friend and a protector as evidenced by his career as a fireman. Chance may have brought him and Renee together but once he meets her he knows that she is special and wants her in his life and now he just has to convince her.

Renee has forged a career as a realtor through hard work and perseverance. She has been burnt by love in the past and doesn’t want to go down that path again however she is about to find out how charming and irresistible that Marco can be despite her intentions to believe otherwise.

Their interactions are both humorous and hot and it was so entertaining to see the relationship between them unfold.

BJ Harvey knows how to write a hero that'll make you swoon and a heroine that'll make you stand up and take notice.
Some may even call her a Show Stopper.

I love this world. I love how it's a standalone, but there are cameos made by characters from previous books (heeeelllloooooo Ezra!). It give everything a small-town feel, even if it's taking place in Chicago.

These are the kinds of friends and family I want in my life.

Marco is the kind of guy I want rescuing me when I need it.
Renee is the best friend I want to sit around and hang out with.

These two are adorable, sexy, fun, and just what I needed during a time of so much....crazy.

Bring on book 2, Harvey.
I'm waiting.

It’s three a.m. and I have no regrets. I started reading late because I thought, hey, I’ll just get a feel for the characters and then I’ll put it down until tomorrow. As you can see, that didn’t happen. I started reading and I couldn’t stop until I’d read the last words on the page.

I love Harvey’s books and I’m always excited for each release but there was something about this one, I don’t know what it was but I was beyond eager to get my hands on it. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed! This just might be my favorite from her.

Harvey combines humor and romance so perfectly. Marco and Renee have an instant chemistry that really drew me in. Their banter amped up the tension and the build of their relationship had me swooning and tearing through the pages. The touch of action included in the story added a whole new dimension that I really loved. I couldn’t get enough of these two, I didn’t want the story to end. I’m so thrilled that this is the start of a new series because I’m absolutely loving these characters!

This story was incredibly cute. Marco is the definition of a swoony hero and he's not overly alpha either. He's just enough to show his loyal, strong, protective side. I liked how persistent he was when it came to what he wanted. Renee was strong, smart, independent, and witty with a dash of sass. I thought these two had great chemistry and I really enjoyed their banter. There were no childish games or unnecessary drama. They were couple goals; sweet, sexy, fun, honest, and so much more.

The story was well written and an easy read, albeit a little predictable, but this was not a mystery so I don't feel that it was an issue. I must say, I hope that Scotty gets a book! I feel bad for him and want to see him get his HEA.

Although I really enjoyed the laugh out loud journey Renee and Marco were on, there was way too much "telling", (description), and not enough "showing" between the two!
In addition, way too many sex scenes and unnecessary profanity tended to break the flow of the story. And how Marco's nemesis got away with attempted murder was ridiculous!
Nevertheless, I really loved Marco's fire-fighter buddies and as a result, I am now reading book #2 Rhode's story.

I had to make a horrible realization while reading this. Perfectly sweet, angst-free, uncomplicated romance is just not for me anymore.

There was nothing wrong with this book, seriously, and Marco Rossi was a way too perfect, smooth talker of a firefighter hunk, yet it just couldn't hold my attention. I'm sorry...

Oh God! I loved this book, I so need and missed this authors words and to say I'm excited that I still get to see glimpses, of the Cook family and Co. I totally love how the series all interlink and flow together.

Marco is to die for and I love how he met his match and Renee quite literally put him on his arse. Renee for me is a total firecracker, please forgive the pun. She makes him feel things he never thought that he would find and he makes her feel scared because she vowed never to feel again. Guess what they are both in for a shock.

I thought I had guessed how the story would sort of go and who would be involved. But even with that feeling I wasn't expecting anything like I got. This book is a fantastic start to this new series. Which is for me an extention in a fantastic interconnected world that BJ Harvey has created.

This book is a total recommend from me. I absolutely loved Marco and all the other lads in this first responders series. I am starting a petition Scotty NEEDS a book all of his own.

*Sigh* Oh Marco, you absolute stud!

Look, I come from a family of fire fighters. And NONE of them are the hot guy firefighters. They are the dad bod type. So reading about hot ones, always a plus!

Marco was so bloody amazing with Renee. I just loved how sweet this whole books was. BJ Harvey is one of my go to authors when I need something I know is going to give me feel good vibes. 10/10 recommend.

Loved it... so glad we're getting a spin off to the wonderful Cook brothers series, as there were so many side characters that deserved to have their stories told. Marco is a firefighter... say no more! HOT damn, he was literally bowled over by Renee but she certainly made him fight for her affections! Light hearted banter, steamy scenes and a few intense moments made this another fabulous string to miss Harvey's bow. So excited to see what's coming next!!

A bad heroine always makes a good book turn to shit... Its one thing for a girl to be sassy, another to be full of shit while trying to be sassy.... That doesn't make u a spitfire, it makes u luk like a nincompoop.... I cudnt even get past the 2nd chap because of this irritating female, but I jus waded through til the 6th chap but I had to stop there..... She was being judgey n having a holier than thou attitude which is so off-putting.... N specially if this kind of bitchy behavior hpns wit good guys, yeah u might as well say bid goodbye to the book.... Without knowing the guy, she is judging him to be a player n making false assumptions n accusations... If it was her in the frying pan, being judged like that? Yeah she would have hated it.... Such girls are nothing more than pain in the ass in a bad way..... I can keep ranting but I have had enough of these bitchy heroines who r full of crockshit..
