Tailspin is a sexy, swoon-worthy contemporary romance novel written in K. Bromberg's Driven World Project.
Aidan
When I left Harrington Heights, I vowed never to return. In the years that followed, I built not one empire but two. Aidan Wright no longer existed. Now, I was Aidan Decker. Finance mogul. Race team owner. I had the world at my feet. I should have been happy. Or, if not happy, at least content. But I was neither. What was worse; I had no idea what to do to fix it. Not until an old friend talked me into coming dangerously close to the hometown I despised to celebrate his upcoming nuptials. A bachelor party. At a gentleman’s club. And who should appear onstage but the only girl I’d ever loved. The girl I couldn’t bear to hold back because I knew she was destined for so much more than “The Heights” had to offer. More than I had to offer back then. The girl who’d long ago abandoned this place to chase her dreams of starring on Broadway. Dreams changed; I knew that better than anyone. But there was one dream I’d held tight to since I was fourteen. And it was right in front of me for the first time in a decade. I wasn’t about to let her go a second time.
Kinlee
Aidan Decker. Everyone knew the name. Even I knew it, if only in passing. But until I strolled into the club that night, I had no idea that Aidan Decker was Aidan Wright. My Aidan. My best friend growing up. The one who bid me goodbye on graduation day with a single, sweet kiss and a promise I never forgot. Not even after ten years apart. Unfortunately, we were completely different people now. Maybe all that had changed about him was his name. But my whole world imploded and the girl he knew was long gone. The friend he’d shared his dreams with was living in a nightmare, one to which he didn’t deserve to be exposed. All that was left was pain and fear and the will to survive. There was no way I could let Aidan back in. No matter how much I wanted to. We might have been in the same room for the first time in years, but we were still worlds apart.
Anna Paige is the author of the Broken series, the Thrill of the Chase series, and Off Script, a sexy standalone romance.
She lives in a rural town in North Carolina where the only activity is the rhythmic color change of the solitary stoplight and a very real threat of being carried away by mosquitoes. The only alternative to terminal boredom is writing, making life interesting if only on the page.
Anna is happily married, with one amazing son and a pair of hilarious pets. When she’s not writing, she’s trying to make a dent in her TBR pile. Given that she’s constantly adding new titles to the list, the chances of her ever finishing are slim.
Her reunion with her one time best friend, Aidan, is not exactly what Kinlee had been expecting (or hoping for) while working at a gentleman's club. She's not the same girl he saw last, and she's already on the defensive. Will this chance reunion turn out positively, or will Aidan break her heart while standing in judgement?
Aidan hasn't been anywhere near his hometown in years, but coming back for his friend's bachelor party is absolutely necessary. And thank God he did come back, because it gives him the chance to see his former best friend, first love, the one that got away, Kinlee. He had always loved her, even if he had never told her that it was as more than a friend, so now that they're face to face for the first time in years, he's not about to let her out of his life again. Can he get past the walls she's erected around her heart since he saw her last? Or is he doomed to never getting the chance to tell her how he feels, has always felt?
Tailspin is such an emotional tale, filled with so much pain (for both Kinlee and Aidan), but it's beautiful too, as these two former friends fell into each other and healed each other. I loved them both - Kinlee's so strong, such a survivor, and has such a big, tender tender heart. And then there's swoony, loving Aidan - the perfect book boyfriend who had never gotten over his first love. This is a wonderful addition to the Driven World, well deserving its place in such an excellent world.
book was okay, it's pretty lengthy but it did kept me interested to finish it.
the couple of things i find rather odd and redundant is actually in the epilogue. firstly, the hero's chauffeur's daughter which the chauffeur had written letters to reach out to her hoping to reconnect with her BUT suddenly appearing in the epilogue doesn't seem to make complete sense.
another thing is the hero's forming a relationship with his half brother. i mean... this brother totally didn't appear in the chapters and suddenly he was brought up in the epilogue, like huh???
adding unnecessary characters in the epilogue doesn't make it an epic ending to be honest.
Oh, this book gripped me and didn't spit me back out until the very end and I was an emotional but happy mess. Aidan and Kinlee's story is not easy and it's full of so many emotions but I couldn't put this down. I felt for them both and the suspense had me on edge. A great addition to the Driven World.
I'm a HUGE fan of The Driven World, and have loved every last book I've read, but Tailspin took my top spot in this amazing series. It's the story of Aidan & Kinlee, two people who basically grew up together, and may or may not have actually had something if they hadn't separated so she could follow her dreams in ballet. It's been ten years since they saw each other until a night when he went to a gentlemen's club for a bachelor party, and came face to face with her. He had no clue as to what she had gone through to end up as a dancer in this club, and once it's revealed, I'm not ashamed to say that I totally bawled like a baby since her pain was palpable. Aidan is a straight up perfect hero who would do anything for her, even if he had to make her mad to help her, and I was so glad that they got their second chance at the future they should have had all along. Of course, there are some other things going on in the shadows stalking Kinlee, so there are twists coming in hot as well. The cast of supporting characters are gold including a four legged dog that had me rolling more than once. I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED AND LOVED this emotional second chance story HARD and everyone needs it in their lives! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
“Our time isn’t here yet, and that’s okay. One day I’ll get to kiss you again. And next time, I’m not letting go.”
Ahhhh~I adored this book. I have loved this bonus series, but I must say this book pulled me in from the start and I didn’t want it to end. Each author has done a fabulous job with The Driven World....but Anna, Anna, Anna you have outdone yourself with this storyline.
“I knew the second his eyes landed on me, could feel him drawing closer as if pulled by an invisible string, a tether made of missed opportunities and bad timing woven together into a thin thread of continued hope and possibility. All that was left now was to sever it once and for all.”
This book was filled with hopes, dreams, loss, heartache, compassion, friendship, loyalty, forgiveness, healing, empathy, determination, steaminess, humor, mystery and second chances.
“...it’s not where he found you that matters. Diamonds can come straight out of some of the blackest earth there is. When you’re made to shine, origins don’t matter.”
This is a great addition to this amazing series and is Aiden and Kinlee’s story. These two were best friends growing up and went on separate paths in life to follow their dreams. Aiden is now a wealthy race team owner and finance mogul, and he attends a bachelor party at a gentleman’s club near his hometown which he left behind 10-years previously, and which he never intended to go back to. Fate has destined Aiden and Kinlee to cross paths again at the gentleman’s club, and my heart broke for everything that she has endured. Kinlee is nothing like the girl Aiden left behind, but he is determined that he is not letting her slip through his fingers again. This is a well written flawless story which is emotionally charged, and is tragic, with loss, healing, suspense, drama, heartache, mystery, witty banter, humor, friendships, and love, which all leads to an entertaining, and steamy 2nd chance romance story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
When she was a teenager Kinlee fell in love with her best friend Aidan however it wasn’t meant to be, so she never shared how she felt and they left each other’s lives as friends. A decade later fate brings him back into her life, but the intervening years have not been kind to her, and she doesn’t believe that their reunion can end any differently than what happened in the past.
There is no denying the professional success that Aidan has achieved he has never forgotten the girl who owned his heart. Although they are brought together under the most unlikely of circumstances and although he doesn’t know a lot about what happened while they were apart the one thing he does know is that he isn’t about to repeat the mistakes of the past and let her walk away a second time.
The chemistry and connection between Kinlee and Aidan hadn’t diminished over time as they take us on an emotional journey we won’t soon forget.
It isn’t a secret that I love the Driven series and the Driven World. Every book is fun and different. Tailspin is the same but different in its own right. While this is a romantic suspense story it made me think of a second chance romance but with a little bit of a different take. Aiden and Kinlee, while not being “together” in the couple sense, knew they wanted to be together but set aside what they wanted to let the other pursue their dreams. When they meet again years later, they give themselves the chance to be together, thus having a second chance.
Anna Paige knocked this book out of the park. She gave a new and fresh story with new characters but still gave her readers and fans of the Driven series characters they know and love. I’m new to Anna’s work and I will without a doubt being going back and checking out her other work!
Another great addition to The Driven World Series. This was a bit of an emotional second chance romance. Aidan and Kinlee had a connection all through high school but they pursued it. Aiden kissed her on graduation day and they went their separate ways. Years later they run into each other at a strip club Kinlee works at and has Aiden wondering what happened to the ambitious ballerina. Kinlee is nursing heartache after a tragic accident that left her with no family and someone out to destroy her life. After all the time pass there is still a connection and Aiden tries to help Kinlee find the woman she was and who is out tormenting her. Loved the storyline, the connection between these two characters and really loved the side characters my favorite is Johnny No Thumbs and Darcy. I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
Tailspin will definitely leave you spinning that is for sure. Aidan has done whatever he can to learn and grow away from the home he has despised. He's not rich and wants for nothing, but sadly for him, something is missing from his life. He can have whatever he wants, but the one thing he doesn't is to be so close to his hometown. Now he's semi-back and the one woman he never thought he would see again comes face-to-face with him. She's the one that got away, but he won't allow it again. Little does he know that her life has been through hell and she's not willing to let him in. Kinlee man she just squeezed my heart so much. And as I read her story I did cry and want to hug her. She's been through so much and when her best friend comes back into her life she's not about to let him in. But how much will Aidan push until she breaks? Loved this story so much.
There is nothing stronger than the pure love Aiden has for Kilnlee. They were meant for each other, and everything -- good and bad -- that happened in their lives led them to each other again. I can't express how starstruck and (a bit) envious I am of their connection. Kin and Aiden has been through hell and back, they deserve their happily ever after. I have fallen for each and every character throughout this book, they all have a depth and personality I have come to love. From Emerson to Darcy to Johnny No Thumbs, they've taken a place in my favorites, that's for sure. To the Heights, following your dreams, and an overflowing indescribable love that lasts for lifetimes. Tailspin will be in my re-read shelf for sure!
I really enjoyed this story, this connection between Aidan and Kinlee that pulled them so close. They grew up together, close friends all through school, never crossing that friendship line. The years, the pain, each having painful stories in the years they'd been apart, twisted my heart and really pulled the emotions from me. I loved how the story flowed, getting to know the characters, gasps, smiles and heat, all rolled together for a story I could not put down. A must read!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
It’s no secret I love this world. Tailspin has become my favorite story within this world. The author did a fantastic job incorporating characters we love into Kinlee and Aidan’s story, without taking the focus off them. You become so involved, needing to know what happens and the next thing you know it’s the end and you want even more. Filled with intense chemistry, love, some drama and suspense. What more could you ask for? Add this to your list. It’s a must read.
Kinlee and Aidan’s story is a must read for all fans of the Driven World. This author wrote an incredible story that gives you the characters we all love but at the same time doesn’t take away from their story. The chemistry is intense and add some suspense and drama, you are sucked in right till the end. I couldn’t put it down. If there is one story for you to read, this is it. Make sure it’s on your list so you do not miss out.
This book is tragically beautiful. Another wonderful story about choice and timing. Aidan and Kinlee were best friends in high school, while they also loved each romantically, Kinlee was more focused on school and practice, which didn't give her time for distraction. Both had a bright future ahead of them, but their path needed to separate in order to each fallow their own dreams. The choice that led to the next ten years, after which, they reunion happens in the most unexpected way. Kinlee is a strong woman, seeing all that she's gone through in the past years, I admire the fact that she even got up and went to work. When she comes face to face with Aidan, she's defensive and in protective mode, thinking everyone out there to judge her. Timing, this time is right. I absolutely love the way this book was written I started reading, and soon I noticed I'm half way through. It's really hard to find a book where the side characters blend so easily into the story. The focus remains on Aidan and Kinlee, but the presence of our favorite Driven characters make it even better. A book that made me cry and laugh at the same time. The plot is very original, while infuzed with tragic , it's full of easy banter, comical lines, funny characters, to make it a very good read.
I am not familiar with the Driven world but this book made me want to read more! This book was romance with some suspense, a bit of a second chance romance, and tons of drama. Aiden and Kinlee were friends in high school and shared a kiss after their graduation but they were focused on their dreams and nothing more happened. Years later Aiden sees Kinlee at a club and he learns more about what has happened to her over the last couple years. Kinlee has had a hard life, she endured the kind of pain no one should ever feel and she witnessed the most tragic accident that it is a miracle she is holding herself together. When Aiden finds out she is in trouble, he doesn’t waste a second to do what he can to help her. This is the start of them giving a relationship a try. I loved Aiden’s character. He was generous, kind, sarcastic, funny and so sweet! The secondary characters were also entertaining, every book needs a Johnny No Thumbs or a Cheryl with a girl crush.
As always Anna's writing never disappoints me, I love all of her books. Her gift of writing from her imagination and putting those words on paper is always , and I mean always on point. The humor, sarcasm, love and plot is like a total mind fuck of greatness. Kristie Bromberg should be thrilled you wrote for her and down right honored that you made her look good 👍
