Delicious in Dungeon, also known as Dungeon Meshi, is a manga series that follows a group of adventurers as they explore a dungeon and cook the monsters they encounter.

The party continues to explore the dungeon and gather ingredients for their meals. Preparing to face the master of the dungeon, they find Thistle's humble cottage a mess.

Overall, Delicious in Dungeon is a unique and entertaining manga series that combines dungeon-crawling adventure with cooking. The characters are well-developed, and the world-building is excellent. The art style is also fantastic, and the monsters look both terrifying and delicious. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys fantasy, comedy, and cooking.

In the first half of the book, our adventuring group manages to kill and eat a few monsters in ways most macabre -- always my favorite part of this series -- before giving us an origin for Sissel the Lunatic Magician and jumping into a climactic battle with him that brings us to a cliffhanger leaving me desperate for the next volume.

The way Delicious in Dungeon balances macabre with humor has always been out of this world and it's especially true for this volume. I honestly have no idea how they're getting out of this current predicament and it looks like things would only get worse from here. The series is definitely getting close to its end. Perhaps another 20 chapters to wrap everything up?

I enjoyed this one a lot, the cliffhanger ending is a tough pill to swallow but I don’t have too long to wait for volume 11. The antagonist Sissel gets a lot of page time as we learn his origin story, it “humanizes” him a lot but also shows us just how off his rocker and dangerous he is. All in all excellent and continues to be one of the best ongoings at the moment.

Personal notes: Another volume packed with original ideas and great art. A perfect blend of comedy, drama, action and cooking. Highlights include the creepy rooms in the lunatic magician's house, the full-page chapter illustrations (bonkers!), the reveal on pages 40-41, and Marcille using necromancy to make a bunch of dead killer rabbits match her movements.

This Volume had a lot of fun moments again but the pressure and conflict are clearly rising up for a big finale.

Additional thoughts:
- The way Shenshi cooked the phoenix was just so creative.
- Loved the whole rabbit plotline. The main characters plans are always so unhinged and hilarious.
- I don't thrust the winged lion one bit. I guess he's a demon but bro.
- That scene with Falin hurt so much.
- Actually think Sissel just did what he was asked to do in the beginning and just spiralled from there. So he's just not that much of a villain. Or I'm just really feeling bad for the guy I guess.
- The dishes at the end were just *chef's kiss*

I just love how this series can be ridiculously bonkers, while still managing to make sense considering the world its built upon.

The origin of the villain is also explored in this volume, before ending in a cliffhanger.

The Gimmick of this series is certainly taking a step back in these last few volumes. But yet again it's reminding me why I love this manga.

Great art, interesting back story, great characters.

This whole volume was just so packed with action!! I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was such a perfect blend of comedy and tragedy.

1.) The way Falin, who is literally starving because of her inconvenient body proportions, wanted to share berries with Thistle, just like she used to do when she wanted to befriend Marcille in the past… AND THE WAY HE ATE ALL OF THEM!! She's too wholesome for this world.
Also, I can't wait 'til the scene of her eating the curry gets animated!! AND ALSO, THE SCENE OF HER SLEEPING IN A CURLED UP POSITION?? She's way too cute!!!

2.) The scene when Marcille's necromancy spell made the rabbits first scare the newly resurrected party and then cry with her was HILARIOUS. Though, I'm quite miserable because of Laios making her experience her biggest nightmare — seeing everyone she cares about dying and her lasting as the lone survivor. Her being surrounded by their bodies, left all on her own.

3.) Half-breeds can't live in the same time as any other race. A century from now, you'll be all alone at your dinner table.

Also, it's been finally confirmed that Marcille is a half-elf. (Actually, I've seen quite a few comments talking about how her ears are actually rounder than other elves'… This is such a splendid detail in her character design!!) Thanks to Thistle's words, we can finally understand the true pain she feels, since he's revealed that as a half-elf — she can't experience the flow of time the way other races do, making her feel truly alienated.
Honestly, I feel like I can sympathize with her desire, to make all the races' life spans equal, much more now. Although, now that we openly know that the Winged Lion is interested in Marcille — I'm even more scared of her becoming the new Lord of the Dungeon.

4.) I feel like all characters are incredibly well-written. For example, Thistle: in the beginning, most people probably hated him, since he was spoken of as the Lunatic Magician and the series' main antagonist. But now? After learning his backstory, after getting to know his true goals and seeing his struggles? After discovering that he keeps poetry-filled diaries under his bed and the bodies of his old-time friends by the dining table? I have a terribly complicated relationship with him as a character, I don't know what to think.
Another complicated scene was definitely Laios suffocating Falin. Seeing her fighting to live, scratching his arms, his head, his back… The way she is a whole chimera, and yet she must've felt so miserably helpless at that moment, being attacked by a mere tall-man. It's truly heartbreaking to see how our beloved siblings have to fight one another.

5.) How does it feel to have monsters cook you?

The way the whole party was wiped out and 'cooked' by the dragons is such an irony of fate.
“Senshi Casserole”, “Chilchuck Rui-be”, “Saltwater-pickled Izutsumi”, “Nerve-clipped Marcille”… Well, I hope all of them will get revived soon!!

6.) I'm A LITTLE disappointed that we didn't get to know anything more about the Dungeon Rabbits in the Miscellaneous Monster Tales!! I mean, that makes a lot of sense, since they're a mystery even to Laios… But it makes me more and more curious!!

I fully admit I had a bit of a tough time remembering all of the different plot points and players involved up to this point. It is a true unfortunate part of being caught up on this series and having to wait for each volume to come out that I’m forgetting important details from past volumes.

Especially since this seems like real endgame stuff now. More of Sissel’s past is revealed in this volume. Laios and company go on a cleaning spree in Sissel’s house in an attempt to find the winged lion and free Falin from his grasp. They also kill 20 terrifying dungeon bunnies in order to make a truly delightful curry, poor Marcille will probably never recover. And that party of jerk elves that has come to scorch the dungeon show up in a few places with Kabru in tow. Kabru continues to try to reason with the captain about Laios and his party to little effect.

But the final battle in this book really doesn’t go our friends’ way and then it just ends on a horrible dragony cliffhanger! I can’t believe I have to wait for volume 11 now, le sigh.

No puedo dejar de leer, necesito saber qué ocurrirá con estos personajes que ya tienen todo mi cariño. A continuación mis momentos favoritos:

1. LA BATALLA DEL GRUPO CONTRA LOS CONEJOS MALVADOS, ME ENCANTÓ. No podía dejar de reír, realmente ame muchísimo esa parte de la lectura. Además, cuando todos están muertos en frente de Marcille, ella va a recostarse contra Laios, podía escoger a otra persona, pero escogió a Laios. Moriré en esa colina.
2. Verlos preparar la comida ideal para Falyn fue muy muy adorable, en especial si ignoramos lo que ocurre después.
3. LA HISTORIA DE KARDUS (el hechicero malvado) ES GENIAL, tenía miedo de sentirme decepcionada, pero me gustó bastante. Marcille y él no son tan diferentes, ambos quieren proteger a los suyos.

As the previous book was weaker, it took time to get back to the series. I must say I completely lost track of the side characters (all the different parties), remembering only the rough contours of their involvement. Same for the Sisel, but luckily he has quite a backstory here. Concerning the story, the finale is getting too long, as it solely focuses on chasing Sisel/getting chased by him. And that's not really intriguing for me now. Luckily there is still a bit of fun about monsters and recipes, so I will tag along for more...
