Meet Normani Davidson. A beautiful, 26-year-old independent black woman has been holding it down for herself for quite some time. Born into a family of overachievers, along with being a pastors kid, Normani had high expectations placed upon her at an early age. Most of the pressure came from her father, who accepted nothing but the best from his children.

Normani lives a great life. Not only is she a pediatrician, but she’s also a bestselling author, specializing in Christian books for children. She’s committed to AKA, the sorority that she followed in her mother’s footsteps and joined. Although Normani has so many amazing things going on in her life, the fact remains that she is a single woman, who isn’t even opposed to love, but it’s just been so challenging to find her soulmate. Who would have ever thought that something so simple as having a boyfriend would be so hard for Normani?

On the opposite side of the tracks, there’s Billionaire, better known as Billion. A handsome, money-making, black king, who rejoins society after serving a five-year prison bid. Billion comes with his fair share of baggage, but the most significant load is the two kids that he has with two different women. Normani and Billion have absolutely nothing in common and are as different as two people could possibly be, but don’t they say that opposites attract?

In the beginning, neither is into the other because it’s a scary thing to give love a chance, especially when there aren’t a lot of similarities that rest on the table. Besides, what’s a church-going, good girl like Normani doing dating a well-known thug like Billionaire? Well, there’s only one way to find out.

Naya!!!! I had no idea that when you recommended this series that this was the beginning of my “Love Me Right or Don’t Love Me at All” crew!!! I love me some Loyal, Normani, Truth Twinkie and Billionaire!!!

If you’ve read Diamond before then you know you can expect that someone will be in jail or just getting out, a scammer of credit cards, selling drugs or trying to get out the game, a bitter baby mama, parents that are still in love with each other but not together, and a man that is head over heels in love with his woman. We have some jump off pregnancies, side chick drama and questionable paternities but ultimately we have a ratchet good time! 😆

Because I already know the outcome of these characters since I read the series out of order nothing is surprising but I’m still enjoying their beginnings!

3.5 ⭐️ This started very slowly I almost didn’t not finish. For attempting to pair up Billionaire (yep, that is his name) and Normani, I was side-eyeing Twinkie. But some how opposites attract. Urban books always remind me why I wouldn’t want to be with a man who has kids already cause chile. The story picked up toward the end, and I question whether Normani is mentally prepared to handle what comes with Billionaire. Denim is foolish and I wanna see how this plays out.

Getting good

This was my first time reading a book by this author and honestly at first I was going to put it down because it started very slow and basically rambled about each character a bit too much before she would get to the point but as I co tinted to read it started picking up and getting better. I hope that part 2 starts off faster but it is still a good read

Wow! This was a great read! I loved Normani’s character and although she grew up different from Twinkle, she didn’t judge her. I loved her growing relationship with Billionaire. Them baby mamas were a trip! I can’t wait to see what happens with Normani’s parents & Billionaire and the baby mamas. On to part 2!

Oh my Wordddddddd

Babyyyyyyyyyy with an ending like that, you can't help but be ready to read part 2. Billionaire is BAE all day, and I love him for Normani. I can't believe her father would react the way he did. Why I feel like Twinkle is about to start back talking to her ex, and I was so sad she had a miscarriage. I'm about to read part 2 great read Diamond

THIS BOOK WAS SO F-ING GOOD‼️‼️‼️

This wasn’t your average virgin meets thug book right here. Not only was Normani a virgin but also the daughter to not one but two preachers. Now, she tried to avoid the charms of Billionaire (as she calls him) but eventually he charmed her right into a relationship with him.

Normani is a daddy’s girl, but I feel like there’s something that’s going to come out about how close she was to him and he thought that basically no man was good for her but he didn’t have that same energy with his other daughter granted she did marry a preacher as well (I think 💭 a preacher or a deacon).

Idk.. just something seems so fishy about that.

It was pretty safe to assume that Normani wouldn’t consider giving Billion a chance at first because she knew her daddy wouldn’t go for it.

Now, when her preacher daddy was talking all that shit and calling Billion a bum, a fool, and a thug to his face without even knowing anything about him‼️‼️‼️, I was like

How are you going to be doing all that damn judging preacher!!

Then when the daddy disowned Normani I was like

This was an amazing read!!!

No plot

The book is decent. I don’t know the purpose of the story or why the chapters are so long. There was a lot of repetitive descriptions. The reason I gave two stars is because the writing is poor. I can tell from the length that the writer wants to give more but it’s not quite there.

Suggestions:
STOP addressing the audience. The whole before y’all hate me, like I mentioned before, and y’all don’t understand is poor development.
Also, the characters shouldn’t introduce themselves. That information should come from another character or reveled through situations and details.
Also characteristic and personality should be displayed. For example, If a character is mean we should see that through interaction.
Finally, the dialogue in this story was minimal. Everything we know was told to us in character thought! Incorporate more dialogue!!!

Biiihhh, let's go book 2😳👀👀👀

Bay-be, Queen Diamond D. Johnson gave all the feels worth this first installment to "Turned Out By His How Love". This book was co motherfudgesicklestix good, I was writing my review as I went along, so I wouldn't forget what I needed to say, especially when it came to Pastor and that trifling a** phuck boy Monterius🙄😡.
I ain't saying what Twinkle did was right, but I understood where she was mentally when she made her decision. Monterius was a super puck boy ol ho* a** ni**a. Who had no respect for her, so again I get it. What she went through brought tears to my eyes, cause although things weren't ideal ik she wanted her baby and to know that she lost her baby, but that phuck boy had another baby on the way made the pain even worst😢.
Monterius is a narcissistic a** phuck boy, just a fu**ing🤡. When he was crying to his momma, he sounded dumb asf talking about he hasn't fu**ed around in 7 months, like his a** deserved a reward for doing something he could've been doing their entire RELATIONSHIP🙄. His momma was a real one & didn'tspare his feelings when she gave him some ish, that has didn't wanna hear. He crying about Twinkle getting rid of a baby, like that baby needed to be bright into that toxic a** situation😔. These ninjas can dish it but they can't take it.
Normani is the epitome of class, grace, she is truly "the girl next door". Now at first sis had me giving her the side👀 when she was talking sh*t as she entered the club, but I had to laugh too cause cute was so out of her element, lol. She definitely meet her match with Billionaire.
Billionaire, I mean his name says it all😍. That man came home with a new mind set and wasn't dealing with antibodies toxic behaviour. Denim and Sidnesha both thought he was gonna be on the came bs he was on, and they didn't like the new him. God kept putting him in the position to have to step in and save Normani and after the incident at the gas station he decided to stop fighting and just get to know her. She really thought telling that man she was a virgin was gonna have him running like the rest of the men she's met in the past. He just pursued her even more, doing as he say "simp sh*t"😂. Him showing up at her job on V'day definitely sealed the deal, but the way he handled himself when daddy was disrespecting him was a for cute sign that he was for her.
Now speaking of her daddy, the Pastor🙄. Wooow!!! This motherfudgesicklestix is a piece of work. Embarrassment? Is she on drugs? WTF is wrong w/him? The way he was talking to Normani, taking her to change her last name if she chose to be w/the thug as he called him. Clearly his love for her is conditioned on her living her life on his terms, smmh. How he showed his a** at her event, the disrespect and hatred he showed Billionaire had me hotter than fish grease😡. This it's why folks be turning away from the church😔.
That shirt Billionaire had made for her event was everything💕😂.
Denim😔. That bih knew she was playing with fire and was begging to get burned. You don't fu**with a MAN, not a boy, but a MAN when it comes to his child/children. All that drinking caught up to her, had her spilling all her secrets in that parking lot. WHATEVER happens, she deserves it🤷🏽
Reggie ol crybaby a** deserved that beat down cause he was doing the most.
Sidnesha needs to go find her somebody that wants her cause Billionaire down moved on and he ain't coming back, period.
LET'S GO BOOK 2 CAUSE IK IT'S ABOUT TO BE COME SH*T

What a good book....

This book was good from start to finish. Normani, I loved her she had good values and morals. So what she was a preachers kid and pure still at the age of 26. I felt so bad for the way that her dad treated her. I get his point but the way he went about it was just Hypocrisy at its finest. I don’t think Normani did anything wrong, she went with her heart. She loves her father I’m sure of it and he will always be her dad but she did what was best for her.

Billionaire, kept surprising me. Yeah he rough around the edges, but he recognizes his mistakes and did his time to society, now it’s time for him to live his life and be a better version of hisself. His baby mamas tho, I’m glad he realizes they’re toxic for him. They say your soulmate brings out the best in you and that’s what Normani does for him not Sydnesha and Denim. Speaking of Denim, biiiiitch!!! You just wrote a check that your ass can’t cash. Please just let that now be if Khari is not yours. Don’t let her miserable ass bring you down.

Twinkle I absolutely hate her name but I was so sad for her loosing her baby. Montarius sounds like he fine as hell but he’s not worth your self value. I applaud her for making that move. It don’t matter if we going through something or a break if you know in your mind and heart that your going back to your man or women you don’t go out on a fucking hiatus and sleep with this person or that person. Now this man might have a baby on the way. I would like to see them work it out but not if he going to still be on goofy shit.

I’m sooo happy I don’t have to wait for part 2, I know it’s going to be a just as good if not better!!!

Not bad, not bad at all!!! A banger for sure...

This was so cute for an intro and so promising for a book with a good swing.
Normani is a strong, educated, self made/boss lady, beautiful, naive, green young lady and she has encounter a ride that could be the best ride of her life as she knows it.
Billionaire "Billion" is the complete opposite. Also strong, also attractive/beautiful, and hard worker but who is very bit on the wrong side of the tracks that this has become a clutch for him and surroundings.
Twinkle, Monterius, Loyal, well the best support system ever and then Denim and Sindesha, man dramas get avoids, and that's not what this book was or at least the intro.
So let me go finish it so I could give a more profound consideration.

I have a love & hate relationship with Miss Diamond D. Johnson & her books.

She can write a good book. Yes she can but she be killing me with all these point of views.

If this story was told only in Normani & Billion point of view, easily 5 STARS from me, but no. There is no reason why I’m getting 4 other people point of views.

The summary of this book is about 2 people, that’s who I want to read about. Not about no Twinkle, no Monty, no Sidnesha none of that.

I skim through all those other point of views.

Normani & Billion story is so interesting and fun to read and then bam the next chapter is a different point of view. Hate it.

Anywho, I love seeing Billion and Normani falling in love.

Wow!

I love the opposites attract storyline, especially when it involves a pk kid and a street thug. It seems to be a hard road to travel, but with same experiences that differs and sometimes with the same paths and destinations crossing. I'm loving the substance and the struggle ,because when you know what to do, the support and experiences are so real that it teaches and prepare you for what's ahead. Now as for Denim she really wants to die. I just hope there is someone lurking because I fear for her life and his. Excellent Read for me so far. Now on to the next installment. ReneeG 👍

Ready For Part2

I love that they both trying something new and she ain’t letting her daddy stop her from messing with him. They story so cute cause Billion right the right woman can bring out anything in a man that wants her. Denim doing too much when they ain’t even her baby daddy she delusional. I’m kinda happy Twinkle lost the baby though cause she ain’t need no ties to that man. Normani daddy just like the typical church people swear they don’t judge but be judging worse than anyone. Can’t wait to see what Billion do now that he knows that ain’t his child, but with the attachment he got I think he gonna stay in her life.

Great Read

This book was good from beginning to end and what a ending. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. Held my attention and I couldn't put it down. It flowed really well at a steady pace. I so loved Normani, with her good values and morals. Definitely, opposites attract between Normani, a preacher's kid and Billionaire, a street thug. I'm loving how he's turning her out on his hood mentality. And after that ending, its on to the next installment. Great job Diamond D. Johnson.

Awesome

Oh my goodness! I absolutely love this book. I wasn’t feeling Normani at first but I grew to love her in the end. One thing a agreed with her father about, even though I don’t like him or her mother, they are the perfect example of why people don’t like going to church. And that is Billion t-shirt only because it was a Christian book event when children. My heart goes to Twinkle and I hope she don’t take her dude back. I hope she finds a man that can love her right. Awesome read.

Concessions!!

Now, the cat is out the cat is out the bag. I wonder how Denim is going to lie her way out of this and not get killed in the process. Billionaire is going to choke her butt out. Nesha is going to play her part. Nomani father is a joke, for him to be a preacher, he's a hypocrite. He told her mama not to pick any one for her, isn't that what he's doing for now? Twinkle is going to need time to get over the miscarriage and Montivius. Loyal knows Chances is blowing Dream off. Billionaire got Nomani now.

Boy I thought this was going to be a boring read bcz lol miss church lady Normani is just annoyingly a preachers kid. It's so crazy that ppl allow their parents to put such a heavy weight on them when it comes to dating however im glad that Normani chose to give Billionaire a chance bcz he seems to be a girls dream.
Can't wait to see what's to come in n book 2

That ending oh my!!!

I’m so happy that Billion came out the gate straight into walking on a new path... I knew many would doubt him but thank goodness that Normani has sense enough to get to know him and now she’s falling deeper than she could imagine. Them baby mamas was drama from the get go but somebody send a prayer out for Denim. I definitely can’t wait to see everything unfold in part 2

Loved it!!!! I enjoyed getting to know Normani. I enjoyed her strong black woman persona. It was refreshing that Billion was changing his life and leaving the game. I knew she and Billion would eventually hit if off but the initial meeting was hilarious. Even with that, the sparks were flying. 🔥🔥 Can't wait to see what transpires!!!!

Twinkle was hilarious and I am anxious to see what happens between she and Monterious.

I hate baby mama drama, in this case baby mamaS. However, I don't think this story will present the regular rum of the mill BM drama.

Part 1 was really good in terms of character development and I look forward to Part 2

It’s good

In the beginning it was hard to keep up. But as she added more people into the story telling aspect, it got better. I’m not saying I don’t like Normani, but sometimes in her sections she tend to over explain.. It’s tedious but I like the story. I only started reading this because of another story I was interested in but had to start at the ti-nop of the collection…. So far I’m digging it🤷🏽‍♀️

Ok Mz. Johnson you did your thang with this one and I needore so I headed to book 2. Just to be clear I'm hooked. He needs to put denmin in her place for this and cut her off tell her first baby daddy and try to get custody of khari sense he signed the birth certificate. And I'm not liking that twinkle is not fooling with monterious Ok he screwd up but they need each other and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't let him have a baby on the way..so I'm off to book 2

I almost didn’t want to finish this book. It was just too slow and way too much detail about each character. I wanted to get to the heart of the story. And these names, Billionaire, Twinkle and Denim??

I love me some Billionaire though.

Can’t wait to see how he handles his baby mama, Denim’s “secret” since she spilled the tea.

What’s going to happen with him and Normani?? Will they beat the odds? Because everyone is beating against them.

Omg yes

This series is gonna lit. I hope my girl and guy work out their differences. But Ball and my girl is rocking hard. I can’t stand her dad but he’s gonna lose out in the end. I’m looking forward to reading more of ur books. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and eating on popcorn while waiting on the next book to read.

Unbelievable

This book was amazing. I love Normani and Billioniare relationship. She is bringing out the best in him, while he is helping her break out of her shell. He is teaching her to put herself first. Denim is just miserable. She really has to need to be. Read this book it will leave you speechless.

First less than 5 star

I'm really shock with this book, it gave too much information I started to return it twice before finishing until I read a review that it got better in the end. Sis you gave information that wasn't necessary. I did love Billionaire attitude towards Norm that was beautiful how he spoiled her.

Hood but classy, love that Normani’s character is secure in her convictions, love that she’s a doctor with a loving family, except for her dad. So happy that she was able to stand up to her dad.Billion is a character though, love how he’s about his business. Good for Twink that she stood up for herself. Love Billion’s family.

Great Read

Great Read. Loved Normani , she was all around a good woman. I’m glad that she was willing to take a chance with Billion. Also that she didn’t change herself in the process. Billion might not have been what she originally wanted in a man. But he turned out just what she needed. Those baby mothers are really bitter. I hope they get put in there place in part 2.
