The Boss - Melanie Moreland
If you are looking for a sticky and sweet, hearts and flowers story, this is not the book for you. But if you want an emotional journey filled with murder, control and mayhem than look no further. Melanie Moreland takes her readers on a wild ride. This is not your customary Moreland book but this proves that she can just about write in any capacity. Matteo and Evie's story starts off with danger and ends with a storyline that will hook the reader in and not let them go. The only bad part was that it ended too quickly. A masterpiece from beginning to end.

WARNING - story has a cliffhanger and I can guarantee you will run right out and grab it as soon as you get to the last page. Hannah needs money quick. The winning bid gets a weekend with the submissive and when Drew is the winner he thinks it will just be like all the others he has had in the past. But what starts as an encounter with "Scarlet" and Drew turns out to be so much more. But what happens when the weekend is over and Hannah/Scarlet's secrets are revealed? The Boss by Melanie Moreland is a step out of her usual tropes. It’s a mafia story, filled with murder and suspense, cold calculating men and a love so strong, it will sweep everything aside. Evie was on the run and desperate when she entered a rundown warehouse thinking she’d be safe- at least for a little while. Nothing could have been further from the truth, and she bears witness to something that endangers her life even more than it already was. The man who could have taken her life does quite the opposite. He takes her, and keeps her… safe? Yes, but is her gilded cage hiding more than she knows? Matteo was inexplicably drawn to Evie the moment their eyes met. He can’t explain it, all he knows is that he needs to protect her at all cost. Two broken souls, brought together in the midst of deadly encounters. Can they heal each other? Matteo and Evie are a beautiful coupling, their chemistry is off the charts and their romance on to be savored. Bravo, Melanie. This was a fantastic story and I loved every thrilling, nail-biting second of it.

Review for The Boss by Melanie Moreland
Wow !!!!
Melanie Moreland has once again proved how diverse and how very talented she is with The Boss, a very different type of read to what we are used too and this really is a whole new side to her writing that I hope she continues with.
Mafia romance is not normally my first choice of read but I was drawn in and captivated by Evie and Matteo’s story. Mattel is not the man Evie thinks he is and this book is very true to first impressions are not always what they seem, he is not a monster in fact he is bead of an elite organisation who protect the innocent and who do what is needed to the abuser.....
This short story will keep you on the edge of your seat, it’s full of drama, suspense and romance and I really hope we get more from the characters we met in this brilliant read.

This is an awesome collection of stories from some fantastic authors.
I had received a review copy of Melanie Moreland's The Boss, which is a different offering from one of my favorite authors. It still has her trademark touch but it's a mafia romance and is a bit darker than her usual fare. I absolutely loved it!! Now I want some more please!!!
Also included in this collection is The Winning Bid by Michelle Windsor. I have been meaning to read this since I won a copy last year so I made a point of reading it today also. And it was a cliffhanger!!! I loved it...so I have some more reading to do!! I love bdsm themed stories especially those where the rich powerful Dom finds himself brought low by his attraction to the newbie submissive...who definitely isn't a complete pushover.
I also skimmed some of the other stories and I definitely can't wait to go back and reread them more fully when I have more time. I loved what I skimmed. Runaway Billionaire and Sweetest Sin were both lots of sweet steamy fun. Almost Priest & Personal Delivery I'm going back to later for a better read.

Hold on to your hats ladies , these are some sexy bad boys that want to cuddle up with yu in the night . We have billionaires , and sexy mafia bosses and men who have wanted to be a priest since he was young and the women who bring them to their knees .
All the stories in this book are great and here are a few that really stood out to me and had me fanning myself and blushing a few times .
In the WINNING BID , Drew well he is an oh so sexy Dom who finds something special with a new submissive named Scarlett . They are so hot together and it was so much fun to read them . They had a push pull relationship that you want to have them have an happy ending but bang the author gives us a cliff hanger . It was such a fun story with some great melt your kindle moments . HOT , HOT , HOT .
Ok this is my favourite story by far , in ALMOST A PRIEST we meet Colin McCullough and Samantha Doughtrey . When Samantha comes out for a visit with Colin's brother . She is a temptation that Colin needs to avoid but she is too sweet and tempting Colin was not her plan . The summer is going to get hot, hot , hot. this book is one that will have you fanning yourself all the way through it . I love these characters and you will want to keep reading until the end . This is a fun story to read and the characters will jump out at you .
In The Boss , this isn't your sweet love story , this is a story of murder and what happens when one gets put in the position of marriage or murder . Matteo and Evie's story starts out with some blackmail and turns into a love story that will keep you up all night . Matteo well he is one bad boy that will melt your kindle . The only thing that was wrong with this story it was the shortest of them and it just ended too fast . I really loved these two and wanted to see more from them
Now for the funniest of all the stories PERSONAL DELIVERY . This one had me cracking up cause we have all had a fantasy or two of the fedex man and the package he could deliver . Welcome to Jana's life , she can't get the new swiftex delivery guy out of her head Jack isn't your average delivery guy , he is the owner of the company and he can't get Jana out of his mind . It did take a bit to get into the story but it is a fun read .
All the stories in this book are great and will keep you blushing all the way through. The characters are all so well written and the men will have you swooning in no time . This a great set to read while you are relaxing with a glass of wine . So check it out . I promise there is a story in there for everyone

THE BOSS - By Melanie Moreland is a different type of story than her usual. If you like Mafia, kidnapping, murder, suspense, and love, then this is the book for you!
Oh, Melanie you really showed your versatility in this Mafia suspense romance! I was on the edge of my seat through most of the book anticipating what was waiting around the corner for this unlikely couple.
Evie, beautiful but timid, on the run from an abusive relationship and Matteo, Mafia Boss, who finds her hiding in an abandoned warehouse after witnessing a hit. She is taken as his captive and she intrigues him. I loved the two of them together Evie brings out Matteo's soft side and he instills in her confidence and boldness. Their unusual alliance changes them both for the better, but leaves them vulnerable for their enemies.
This novella is a wonderful, engaging read. You will see a different side to Melanie that is not only refreshing but suspenseful and also romantic.

The Heart is the True Boss
This story is fast paced, sexy, emotional, and enthralling. I loved Mateo, his cause, and his crew. He is a composed, meticulous, compassionate man. Evie was brave, loyal, and loving. Their love story started in an unconventional manner, but bloomed with passion and care. I was enthralled with the plot and the emotional journey. I want more of all of these characters. The Boss left me breathless. Action, emotion, and heat!

This book was absolutely captivating. It hooked you from page 1, paragraph 1 all the way to the last words in the epilogue.
While this is my the "typical" Melanie Moreland book, it is definitely worth your time.
Evie and Matteo meet in the most unorthodox way, but their path merged instantly with an all consuming, I'm never gonna let you go, raw, you belong to me and I belong to you love.
While it does delve into some of the more sordid aspects of life, you get to see the good as well.
This is a major must read!!!

I loved this book by Melanie Moreland. Evie feels broken after what happened to her with her boyfriend while running she stumbles into an abandoned warehouse. After resting for a little bit she wakes to voices and witnesses something she shouldn't. Matteo is an avenging angel who happens to find a beaten and bruised Evie. He instinctively feels protective of her, she is scared and doesn't know what to do but for some reason she feels safe with the handsome mysterious man. Now to read the rest of the book

Take me to be is a collection of 6 short unrelated stories by different authors. This collection has me on a bit of a see-saw review wise. Some things I loved, some I hated. The first book of the collection I was enjoying right up until the cliff-hanger ending. That I didn't enjoy or appreciate. The second book was a bit on the distasteful side for me...a college student and a man one step away from becoming a priest has a bit of an ick factor and the angst was overpowering. The next book in the collection was about an abused woman being a witness to a murder and when I quit reading the murderer was ready to force her to marry him. So I imagine it was one of those books that try to make a criminal into the hero. The next book was cute and I enjoyed it, but I had read it before. Desiree Holt's book was the star of the show. A book I hadn't read filled with fun characters. Totally loved it. The last book...wasn't really a book, it was more of an epilogue for Master of Sin. But it was enjoyable, even if very short.

This was a hot set of stories and I really enjoyed them. I do have just one complaint and it is to Michelle Windsor. Do not put a book in a box set the is not complete. You put a book 1 "The Winning Bid" in here and want us to buy the next book to finish the story, that is bull**it. Never put a book in a box set that is not complete. Here is where the readers get to complain. So that is my complaint. Your publishers might like that crap but readers do not. Than you want 2.99 to get the next book to finish the story. Times are tough so bring the price down and don't put another book like this in another box set. To the rest of the authors thank you so much for the complete books, it is appreciated and I enjoyed them.

Interesting collection of stories. Some were quite short and others quite a bit longer. I think the first two stories took up about half the book. I think my favorite story was probably the second one although there were none I disliked. There was one that seemed a bit like deja vu as if I’ve read it before but it was still a nice story. Did a few of them have some insta love, yeah but I kinda expected there’d be some of that with a short story collection.

The Boss- Matteo is hot and instantly drawn to Evie. He wants to protect her and keep her safe. Evie is on the run and just stops at a warehouse thinking she will be safe for awhile. This would have worked if not for what she witnessing something she shouldn’t.

A Lot of Great Stories
I enjoyed most of the stories in this anthology. I bought it mainly for Melanie Moreland's novella Boss, which is very different than most of her books. But I ended up buying books by a few of the other authors after reading their stories here.

Enjoyed this collection. Sometimes it’s nice to read stories that get it all done at a good clip. Most of these stories were enjoyable and entirely complete, though at their conclusion I found myself wishing they were longer - a good way for a short story to be.
