Colin

Being a police captain’s son has zero perks. After taking the fall for a buddy last year and winding up with a drug charge, I'm the black sheep of the family.

Now, my father wants me to make up for it by joining his top-secret Program as a recruit. The drugs I got in trouble for came from the ritzy country club he and my mother recently joined, and my mission is to go undercover as a maintenance man and find out who's dealing them.

Seems easy enough, until I'm called to the office of the owner's gorgeous daughter, who manages the place.

I’m just supposed to get a job there and keep my ear to the ground for intel.

I’m definitely not supposed to fall for her.

Problem is, I can’t stay away from her…but I’m risking the whole operation if I don’t.

Hendrix

Growing up well-off, I live the fancy, sometimes stuffy, country-club life. I work for my dad, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club, and being the boss’s daughter definitely has perks, but it's also a huge headache.

When I call the new maintenance guy to come to my rescue, he's not only great at his job, but he’s seriously sexy. He’s just my type—a regular guy who isn’t constantly trying to name-drop or elbow-rub to get close to me.

My father thinks he’s beneath me, but I’m inviting him to our annual members gala as my date anyway, because screw the patriarchy…even if it’s mine.

Colin’s sweet and kind of mysterious…and I plan to find out what’s really going on behind those gorgeous green eyes, no matter what.

I can honestly say that I really do enjoy this authors books they are light, easy reads with a good dose of steamy chemistry.

Colin is the son of the Police Captain, he once had the chance to follow in his dads footsteps but when he took the fall for a friends stash of cocaine, a short spell in jail and his life hasn’t been the same since, but he has the chance to not only redeem himself but have his record cleared if he can work undercover at the local golf and country club to uncover a drug ring. It’s his first day and already his life had changed one look at Hendrix’s booty and his heart belongs to her. Will he be able to collect the identity and evidence to bring down the drug ring and will Hendrix forgive his lies?

Hendrix works for her father at his Golf and Country club and has for a few years, she’s been busy working on the upcoming gala and needs to stretch so when the new maintenance man walks in and catches her bent over she could not be more embarrassed but Colin puts we at ease straight away. They quickly form a friendship that her father doesn’t approve of, but she’s falling for Colin and she knows she can’t give him up, that is until the night of the gala when she learns who he really is. Can she really forgive his lies, did she ever really know him at all ?

Cute enjoyable story. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series. Highly recommend not only this book but the rest of her books too. 4🌟 read. Read. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book.

This is a short romance with likable characters and a hero who saves the day, helping catch the bad guy. No cheating and no sex with OW after meeting, which is always something I want my romances to have. I love yous were exchanged within 2 weeks of knowing each other. The story would have benefited from more character and story development but I acknowledge that is hard to do with short stories.

She is the one small detail that as left out of his briefing.......and she is going to cause him the most trouble

Colin is the second book in the Ridge City Recruits series which overlaps with the previous Badge Bunnies series by Mazzy King. Colin is twenty-seven years old and is the Ridge City Police Captain's son. A year ago on his twenty-sixth birthday he was out partying with friends and at the end of the night one of his friends drove his car home, as Colin had too much to drink. Well they ended up getting pulled over and Colin ended up taking the fall for his friend on a drugs charge, as it would have meant his friend would lose his fellowship and they figured Colin would get off because of who his father was. Unfortunately Colin's dad was not too happy and there were no strings pulled for him so he was convicted and spent six months is jail. Now he is not able to get hired at a job using his business degree and is currently working as a welder. But he has been recruited into the secret program and trained as a civilian undercover informant in exchange for his record being expunged. Colin's number has finally been drawn and he gets called into his father's office at the RCPD headquarters to get his assignment. It appears that there are rumors of a narcotics being sold out of the Ridge City Country Club and the owner, Timothy Whisler has come to the police to see if they can investigate, as this is not the type of thing he wants in his club.
Hendrix, Henny, Whisler is twenty-five years old and is the General Manager of the Ridge City Country Club. Her father may own the club but she worked hard to be hired for the position after graduating college and gaining experience for the next few years. She likes what she does, may not love it but by her working as the GM it means her father can take it easier and enjoy his life. Henny has not really had a social life for the last several years as she has been concentrating on work. So when the new maintenance man walks into her office to find her bent over with her ass up in the air wearing a dress and she is more than embarrassed. But add in the fact that he is one of the sexiest men she has seen and he has the naughty twinkle in his eye and she is all flustered.
Colin is working undercover as the maintenance man so that he can identify who the dealer and gather information to bust them. The one thing he was not prepared for was to meet Hendrix, as she is the little thing that was left out of his briefing. She is also the thing that is going to cause him the most trouble as he is attracted to her immediately, even if he is there to do a job.
Colin and Henny are wonderful together as they get to know each other, with a few bumps along the way. But they flirty and fit together really well. I enjoyed this book as the story had romance, intrigue, drama, action and hot sexy chemistry.

This is actually the third book in this series as there is a free book that logs the Ridge Cities idea to use young men with checkered pasts to infiltrate crime gangs in the area This is Colin's story is that quest

When danger threatens Hendrix Colin will blow his cover in an attempt to save her will they both survive and will Colin get a second chance You will have to read to see

Colin is the third installment in Mazzy King’s Ridge City Recruits series. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Hendrix Whisher and Colin Leary. She is the daughter of Timothy Whishler, who owns the Country Club. He is the son of a police captain who is responsible for running the Ridge City Recruit program. Colin is the latest recruit sent under cover to uncover the source of drug dealing at the Country Club. When he and Hendrix meet, sparks fly. Will Colin find success as an undercover recruit? Will he have a future with Hendrix? To find out, you must read this short story.

Yet again, Ms. King penned another captivating romance tale with a bit of suspense. Her characters are multi-dimensional. The dialog is strong. The use of a dual POV allows readers to understand the nuances of her lead characters and their dynamics. I like the way she introduces the next lead male character in this series in each conclusion.

This is book two in the Ridge City Recruit series. This series is interesting, these bad boys have a blemish on their record that is following them around. They get the opportunity to help out the Ridge City PD after going through the 'Program'. Colin is the son of the Police Chief but there is no special treatment. Instead of a career in finance, he is a welder with his legal record. His time has come to put the new skills he has learned to use in the drug trade at the local country club. He meets the general manager, who happens to be the country clubs daughter, Hendrix. These two hit it off fantastically. Their relationship continues to grow and flourish as the story unfolds. However, undisclosed truths could blow ot all out of the water. Enjoy!

Sometimes being young you do stupid stuff. Colin did just that. He helped a friend out & now he has a record and did time in jail. His dad is the Police Chief so he has him in the undercover program to help find drug dealers. He is told he is going undercover at a Country Club. While he was there posing as a maintenance man he falls hard for Hendrix who works there. Hendrix likes what she sees in Colin. Hendrix hears talk about someone wanting drugs. Colin is still undercover when Hendrix hears what he's doing, she's not happy but when she finds out that he has taken down the drug dealer of the CC she is very thrilled. Her club is now rid of drugs and she gets her man, Colin.

Colin was young and stupid, and took the fall for a buddy. He ended up with six months in county lockup. Now he has a chance to get his record cleared. He's entered a program to help gather information for undercover investigators. Hendrix is the country club manager. Her father is the owner, and suspects that drug deals are happening on the premises. He falls in love with her immediately, but her father makes it clear that she's off limits to someone "like him". This was short, sweet and steamy. There's a dangerous twist near the end, but the author is as much a romantic as I am, and the situation is resolved. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Tender but with action
Good short romance, simple and tender, with good characters, to which is added an investigation into drug trafficking in a country club.
The romance is predictable, but the investigation not.
Colin is under cover on behalf of his father, the police captain, at the request of the owner of the country club, as it appears that drug trafficking is taking place in the establishment. Colin falls in love with Hendrix, the owner’s daughter, but the traffic escalates and Colin has to go into action, while lying to Hendrix about her identity.

These rough around the edges alphas are reluctant heroes. They've been dealt a tough hand in life, but this undercover program being run by the police department is giving them a fresh start - after they jump through some hoops first! Colin makes some poor decisions, and being the son of the police chief only complicates matters. He's got a chip on his shoulder, but meeting Hendrix while undercover matures him quickly. And I love how Hendrix is with Colin, undercover or not. This is a fast read, but well worth the time!

In this book of Ridge City Recruits where men who made a bad choice are offered a clean slate, we meet Colin who happens to be the police captains son. He goes to show that it doesn't matter who you are connected to, you aren't above the law. Hendrix works at the place Colin is assigned to. Colin is amazing, so sweet and flirty that you can't help but to love him and the chemistry between these two is pretty hot from the very beginning. Will he finish the job he started? Will he still have the girl when it is over? You have to read because it really is that great!

Colin and Hendrix are great together. He is the police captain's son who ended up with a record now his dad wants him as a recruit in the new program. He goes undercover at the club she is works for. She comes from a well off family and is really attracted to someone who her dad thinks is beneath her. The attraction between these two is undeniable. I really enjoyed the suspense in this story.

This story was quite short, but a really enjoyable read. Colin, the police captain's son tries ever so hard not to fall for Hendrix, who see's him as only a maintenance man, even if he is undercover on assignment from his father. This was a great book of the series and another wonderful story by Mazzy King. I literally couldn't get out of my chair until I got to the end of this story, and would highly recommend it!

Colin made a poor decision earlier in his life which left him with a record. He has an opportunity to expunge this by working undercover with the police. Hendrix is managing her father’s country club and is meeting the new employee, Colin. She has no idea what he is really doing and he cannot tell her. When they discover a connection, their lives get very complicated. I enjoyed reading this novel and how hard Colin was working to get his life on track, no matter what the danger.

I've really been enjoying this series so far. This is the second book and it didn't disappoint. I liked the first one, but i did enjoy this one more. These guys get second chances to redeem themselves and fall in love in the process. It was a short read, sorta insta-love. They spent a couple weeks together before they ended up together, but weeks can be determined a small amount of time for some. I look forward to the next one.

If you like short stories that have drama, intrigue, danger, suspense you are in for a treat. Colin is kinda a bad boy but with a heart of gold. Hendrix is spunky, independent, and has a mind of her own. Together they are a great couple. Add the chemistry and you have an enjoyable read. I’m ready for the next read by this author. I really like her style!

I liked the storyline and plot, but it seemed a little slow for me. The characters were written and well developed, enjoyable to read. The storyline does pick up once you get a little further in, and then zoom towards the end where it all wrapped up very quickly. Good epilogue that gives you insight to the next book in the series.

This is the second book in Mazzy's Ridge City Recruits series and I'm really liking this series! Her writing is great and she has a fantastic ability to write a complete story in a novella. I don't feel cheated out of critical information to make me relate or enjoy the characters, as I so often find happens with novellas. Colin and Hendrix are extremely likable and relatable characters and you can feel the attraction between them. What a great addition to this series!

Colin is in the Ridge City Recruits working undercover because he made a mistake and now if he does this his record will be wiped clean. Hendrix works for her father at the country club. While Colin is trying to find the drug dealer he falls for Hendrix and she falls for him as the handyman. This was a fast and fun read with a bit of danger added in.

Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well.
I'm not going to go into detail, no spoilers, just read the book if you are even mildly intrigued by the blurb. You'll thank me later!

The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting. Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.
