Heartbreaking and awe inspiring. We'll Begin Again is one of a kind. The storyline was completely different from anything I've ever read. It's a romance but it's not gooey hearts and flowers. The characters are have both experienced loss, acclimating to the changes in their lives journey. The book is heart warming. One person helping another. Selflessness portrayed in the best way. This is the first book I've read by Lauren Lee and she has gained another fan with me. Buy the book, read it and be sure to review it.
We’ll Begin Again is a fantastic second chances/military veteran/single mother romance that is all about new beginnings, grief, heartache, torment, overcoming seemingly impossible odds and starting again. This story is beautifully written by Ms. Lee- whose work I hadn’t read before now, but after this great story I would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading more of her work. Amelia Montgomery is a lawyer and single mother to her 9-year-old son, Charlie. They have recently moved to a new city, so Amelia can start a new job, and she is hoping that it will be the fresh start she needs to move on with her life after her failed marriage. On her first day at her new work she passes a bench where a homeless man sleeps in the cold and snow. She can’t help but feel compassion for his situation and wonders how he came to be in that situation. Little did she know at the time, but this man would soon become an important part of her life. William Divola is an army veteran who has endured more heartache than any person should ever have to. his own his life had been shattered by several tragic events, leaving him broken, lonely, haunted and homeless. He had lost faith in himself, and humanity for that matter. His life was a constant struggle, until a ray of sunshine in the form of Amelia brought warmth and hope back into his life. This is such a touching, romantic and emotional story. I really loved every minute of reading it. The characters are realistic and relatable- and their story is entirely believable. My heart ached for what William had endured. Ms. Lee really ‘shows’ what living on the streets is like, and it was confronting. The story contains flashbacks which help to fill in some of the backstory and gave a deeper perspective to Williams situation, feelings etc. The story is told from a duel POV, has a great pace and a smooth flow. Wonderful!
We’ll Begin Again by Lauren Lee is a Military Romance that pulled me in from page one. Following the story of Amelia and William, showcasing their first young love and them coming together again in a true second chance love story. Amelia is a single mother, which she never planned to be, but is willing to put in the work for her child and do whatever it takes to give them the life that they deserve. Creating her new life after her divorce was not easy, but getting a new job in a new city was the first step. When life proves to be more challenging than she had anticipated, the challenge becomes how to give everything to everyone around her and still find a way to create her own happiness along the way. William is a war vet who feels like his life ended when he was discharged from service. Looking at living on the street and just struggling to survive, William isn’t sure that his life is worth living at that point. What happens when their lives cross paths? When fate decides to converge two paths it is always for a reason and these two are willing to take the chance at something better with each other. These two coming together was great to witness, showing how love can fix many wounds both physical and mental. But the path isn’t always easy for these two, and it will take both of them being committed to a life together to make things work. Lee is a new to me author, and I am so happy that I picked this book up. Her writing style was very unique, her characters were incredibly well written and the storyline kept me engaged from page one all the way until the end of the book. I can’t wait to see what else this author brings to her readers because I will definitely be looking to buy more of her work in the future.
The story We'll Begin Again by Lauren Lee is a military/romance book. I loved reading this story and didn’t want to put down until I had finished it. it will have your emotions going up and down from the beginning to the very last page. This is the story of Amelia Montgomery and William Divola. It is a story about second chances and how hard it is to move on from the past. Amelia has accepted a new job and along with her son moves to a new town. She is a single mom who spends a lot of time working as she wants her son to be well provided for. This also means that she doesn’t have a lot of time to spend with her son. William is a man that has served his country in the Army. Events in his past, what he experienced when deployed, and the events that happened when he returned home have led to the situation he is in now. A friendship starts between Amelia and William. Will this friendship turn into something more? Can they help each other to overcome what has happened in their past and “begin again?” This is a wonderful story that had me smiling and touched my heart. Both Amelia and William are amazing characters to read about and I wanted them to find happiness together. This is a book that shows how judgmental some are towards someone that they don’t know and have no idea what has happened in their lives. This is the first story that I have read by the author and it will not be the last. The characters that she has created you will not soon forget. I found myself thinking about the story for quite a while after I had finished it. I would highly recommend reading this book.
We’ll Begin Again by Lauren Lee is a story about starting over and second chances. An emotionally charged book that will have you reading to the end. This is the first book I have read by this author but it is one I found highly enjoyable.
On the face of it Amelia has everything together. A successful lawyer she is storming ahead in her career. However her personal life is anything but successful. Struggling to care for her young son while her ex makes a new family she knows she has to make a change. When she is offered the changed to move away and start over she decides it is exactly what she needs for her and her son. William has had it tough. He joined the Army has he had not much else to do. However his time there didn’t go as planned. Leaving to go home again William arrives only to discover the situation isn’t any better there either. Out of options he finds himself back to square one of benign desperate and out of options. When the two meet there begins something between them that could either be the answer to everything they have been looking for or the thing that shows them new beginnings aren’t for everyone.
I was really surprised by how much I liked this book. The blurb had interested me enough but I could really feel the emotion in this book. Each characters situation was portrayed so well they were entirely relatable. And when they found each other for me the connection between them made the book even better. I really enjoyed this aurora writing style and how well it all seemed to flow. This is an author I am definitely pleased to have discovered.
We'll Begin Again by Lauren Lee is a military romance story that will keep you reading until the end. This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it to the end. I enjoyed how her writing skills were able to pull me into her story right from the beginning. Her attention to details about certain topics in this book were great and made me understand how the character was feeling. Her characters are both connectable and lovable. This is a story about second chances at love. Amelia is a hard working woman who has just found herself a single mother. Wanting to have a new start after her divorce she takes a new job in a new city. She is determined to move on with her life which may prove to more of a challenge then she realizes. William is a military vet who feels he has no options but to live on the streets and just try to survive. What will happen when their lives cross? There is something about him that she just can't let go off. This is the start of a relationship and really the start of their story. I enjoyed both of these characters. They are different but yet the same. They both have a past that they need to heal from. He feels he is damaged but she just may be his savior. I loved both of their determinations. These two have a such great chemistry together that you just want to see them get a chance. I found myself hoping they would find their way to each other. I highly recommend this book. Find out if these two get a chance at love or if fate has other plans for them.
While Romance is a new genre for Laurèn Lee to dip her toes into, she does so wonderfully. Similar to her psychological thrillers, she has a way of creating characters that you can't help but feel for. I often find myself walking past homeless people, assuming the worst, instead of taking a moment out of my day to try and cheer theirs up. In a world filled with negativity, this book gives me hope that things could be different. That if we want things to change, we have to take the opportunity to change them.
It's hard to begin again when our lives come crumbling down around us. Laurèn has created two entirely different main characters, one a powerhouse, and one a veteran. Two people you wouldn't think would ever give the other a time of day, yet you find yourself rooting for both of them. With complex and strong characters, I found myself flipping the pages as fast as I could to see how these characters would recreate their own happiness when all seems to be lost. I highly recommend this! Then afterward, go make your heart race with an entirely different emotion and check out one of Laurèn's psychological thrillers!
We’ll Begin Again By Lauren Lee is a military romance story. This is my first book by this author and it definitely wont be my last.I like her style of writing and her ability to grab your attention and keep it till the end. What happens when their path(lives) cross?Amelia gets a feeling about William she just can't shake. This is the start of there relationship. These two are so different but yet so much alike .Both have pasts, but can they get past them.He thinks hes damaged but she might be his savior. “For all the American Veterans—You are not forgotten” ...this book dedication should have clued me in to grab tissues before sitting down to read!
“Some days, I'm Super Mom and the Queen of the World. Others? I'm a hot freakin' mess.”
Some days no matter how hard you try you just can’t get anything right. I can relate to this as I’m sure most everyone can. What happens when these days become the norm? When you feel you have no way to move forward? When you have lost hope? When someone lends a hand do you take it or feel unworthy and turn down the generosity?
“Sometimes the greatest moments happened when we least expected it.”
Is it harder to let go of someone, the idea of someone or the hope of a future if it doesn’t work out...or harder to wonder what if? What if I tried? What if I got out of my comfort zone and followed my passion? What if I let go of the guilt?
“I've learned in life, it's that when you have something to love, you also have something to lose.”
We'll Begin Again by Laurèn Lee is a story that pulled at every one of the heart strings I've got. It's a beautiful story about love, loss and second chances in life. Amelia wants nothing but to give her son a life she didn't have growing up so she works like crazy to make sure he has everything he needs. She's great at her job but is she just watching the world go by from her office window? William has lost all direction in his life and has seen his share of heart ache, he just wants to be left alone but when he meets Amelia she's just not having it. These two grow and learn together in the story. The story while a bit short for me, only because I wanted more time with the characters, was well written and paced nicely. Characters are amazingly written to be very believable. The story was one that I crawled inside and didn't want to leave. There was tears, laughing and heartwarming moments. I'm giving this story a five star review and can't wait to read more from this author!
We’ll Begin Again is the first book i read by this author and i loved it. We meet William and Amelia in this book. William having gone through tragedy and heartbreak is just trying to survive. Amelia is starting over in a new city. I love how the author builds up the story and characters. We see a true connection between the characters. I give this book a 5 star rating and i would definitely recommend.
It immediately draws you into the story easily and naturally without trying too hard. I absolutely love the way this book flows so naturally. I am so glad I gave it a try. I devoured this in one sitting as it I just wanted to keep turning those pages to find out what happens. I cannot recommend this book enough. Absolutely first rate work and I look forward to reading more from this author.
We’ll Begin Again was the first Lauren Lee novel that I have read and, it was great! I can’t wait to go and read her other novels available. This is a military romance, and second chances novel. I usually enjoy the second chance novels so I picked it up and quickly became engrossed in the story of Amelia and William.
Recovering from a divorce and getting used to the idea of being a newly single mom, Amelia, wants to start over. She feels like the best way to do that is to move to a new city, and start over with a new job, new surroundings. Amelia soon discovers that it is not as easy as just moving. She struggles to balance the life she wants, and the life she lives. Will she be able to figure out how to find happiness and still be all that she wants to be as a mother?
William, a war vet and still grieving son, has been discharged from the one thing he felt he had in his life. It’s a very real possibility that he could end up homeless, with no one to come home to. It is just when he begins to wonder if his life is worth living, that fate swoops in and drops Amelia in his lap. Is love all they need to fix themselves? Can they make the life-long commitment it takes to love someone and all their baggage? Will they be able to begin again?
This was a fast read, so maybe grab this one and squeeze in an extra one-click of her other work. I know I need to. I am a new fan!
“It’s never too late to start over, and it’s never too early to begin again”
Sitting here with tears running down my face, this book completely shattered my heart in the very best way possible. I went into it completely blind except loving the cover, I wasn't sure what I was going to be reading but I will say at 63% of the way in I panicked and wanted to slow down because I did not want this story to end.
This is my first read by this author and in the acknowledgements she states this is a new genre for her...I don't know what genre her other books are, I can assure you I will find out but, she has this one aced…..I have a handful of books that I've read so far this year that I think I've stated might have been my favorite so far….Now I can say as of right now this one ranks right there with the other handful. If I had one complaint, again I didn't want it to end...This could have been a much longer book and Id have been even happier. Her writing style, her characters, her perfect storyline, I loved everything about this book!!
I will be looking into all the rest of this authors books but I would say that this genre suits her just fine...I couldn't have loved it anymore!! It is also already in my to be read again file.
We’ll Begin Again is a military romance of second chances by Lauren Lee that touches upon many important grim realities of our veterans. It is the first book I have read by this writer and I fell in love with her easy and relatable writing that did not allow me to put the book down. We’ll Begin Again is the story of Amelia Montgomery and William Divola. It is the story of two broken people who are meant to meet and help each other heal. It is no easy reading, I cried a lot … it also gave me hope, hope that there people out there who do ‘see’ the ones who are down on their luck and feel that they do need to do something …AND act upon the feeling! This is the story of human friendship that touches your heart and you find thinking of them also after you are done with the book … you keep your fingers crossed and wish for the stars meaning you really hope that both of them dare to take the step beyond the friendship and explore the second chance they have both been given. I loved Lauren’s writing and I will be checking out her other writings. I know now that she is someone I can always go back to when I feel for something simple and heart-warming and real!
This book made me laugh out loud with the references that sounded like my own son.
“Me? I just wanted to play video games and drink Monster until I crashed.”
Other times I thought this was my story.
"Some days, I’m Super Mom and the Queen of the World. Others? I’m a hot freakin’ mess.”
When I wasn’t laughing I was crying. Especially for William. This story hits right in the heart. William and Amelia are two people I would like to know, personally. Their stories are like may others. The past of each person, real or fictional, is something that can’t be changed. How we handle what happens to us is how our future will be. The same is so true for Amelia and William. Both think that their pasts are all they have. They may live in the present but they can not see a future. I liked how these characters were laid back but determined. I liked how they realized their own mistakes, owned up to them and fixed the problem.
This quote sums up the whole story, is my life motto and the reason to give this story a chance.
“It’s never too late to start over, and it’s never too early to begin again.”
This is a second chance novel but its a lot of different kind of second chances. This book grabbed me from the beginning and held me until the end. William is a veteran who has had his fair share of tragedy in his life. He is living the only way he knows how to right now, the only way that he is afforded with having to life the live that was dealt to him.
Amelia is learning to live a different life. She is raising her son practically alone moving a few hours from his father. Her second chance has many meanings that you will see her grow into. You will find yourself rooting for this single mother that is in her own way most of the time. You will be cheering when she makes decisions that not only better her but better her son.
You don't meet people on accident. I truly believe that and this book will make you believe it also. Amelia is meant to meet William. She is pulled towards him, cannot leave him alone actually. She wants to help him, wants to give him a foot to stand on, she just doesn't realize that in reality he gave her two feet to stand on. This was a beautifully told story and I loved every minute reading.
We'll Begin Again by Lauren Lee is a wonderfully told military romance. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The author did an amazing job making this story relatable and emotional. You can feel the emotions the characters are going through. Amelia who is a single mom and a workaholic, is trying to do right thing for everyone. William is an army vet who feels like he is stuck in a situation that he can't find his way out of. When their paths cross, its a little rocky at first but they start to become friends slowly, because William has a lot of walls built up because of his past. They both have had to deal with heartache and some of those painful moments in their past is what brings them closer. This book was very emotional for me, I laughed, I cried, and I found myself hoping that these two find the love they deserve with each other. If you want to know how this story turns out you need to pick up this book and read it, you will not be disappointed. This is the first book I have read by this author and I am so glad I decided to read it, as it is an awesome read and very well written. I highly recommend this book. This is a five star read for sure!!
We'll Begin Again By Lauren Lee ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a full length novel. The perfect example of not making judgment, finding the true soulmate and perfect romance.
Amelia Montgomery is a divorced young woman with one son. She has been offered a fantastic job at a powerful Law office. Being a hard working lawyer herself. This is a great opportunity for her and her son. Between work and her son, she has no time for herself, therefore no time to date or find a partner.
William Divola is a veteran, he has lost everyone. His father on 911, the day of his birthday, one of his two best friends, while serving his country, and then his mother. If that's not enough. He is now homeless. Living on the streets, finding food in the dumpsters. With only his memories, his father's advice and his grit. He must overcome this. But how?
This has to be the best example of, Judge not that you be judged. Lauren Lee did a great job of getting that point across. Her story is a page turner. All the emotions are tested in this story. Her characters are just beautiful. I love when our veterans become example of real people. Thank You Lauren Lee for this Story! I hope to read more from you!
This was such a beautifully written and emotionally charged story – I absolutely loved reading it! This is the first book that I have read by this author and it definitely won’t be the last. I love military romance stories so this one was always going to be a winner for me and it didn’t take me long to become captivated by Amelia and William’s story. I think that the author did a really good job with both of the characters; they were well thought out, likeable and relatable. I could really feel the emotion coming from both of them. I liked Amelia; I thought she was a strong character and desperately trying to get her life back on track after her divorce. But I have to admit I think William was it for me in this book – I completely took him into my heart and wanted the best for him. Together, for me, these two were just perfect! I loved their chemistry but felt like that they could really help each other and find their happy ever after. I think if you love military romance stories then We’ll Begin Again is definitely one to read – I highly recommend it!
I’ve been a fan of Lee’s work since the beginning. Her words first captivated me in Charlotte’s Pact, and she’s been on the top of my list of insta-click authors ever since. I find myself amazed with not only her prose, but the way she can maneuver through different genres, always drawing you in with a compelling story that makes you feel ALL the feels. When I learned that she was coming out with a contemporary romance, I knew I had to get my greedy hands on it as soon as it was released. And, damn…. I was NOT disappointed! Her characters—Amelia (so strong and lovely and determined) and William (hero! swoon!)—are crafted so brilliantly, so thoroughly, that I found myself easily drawn into their world. Lee flawlessly weaves the lives of Amelia and William together, and it’s hard not to fall in love with the pair. Even the supporting characters were colorful (Amelia’s son Charlie was a hoot!). I felt all the tension, all the love, all the sorrow. In fact, I found myself so drawn into the story and caught up in her words that I lost stretches of time while reading this. I can only hope Lee writes more contemporary romance… She has a knack for it!
We’ll Begin Again by Laurèn Lee is an amazing story about loss, love and second chances at life. William and Amelia are from two different worlds. He’s homeless and sleeping on a bench outside of a building, she’s very well off and just accepted a new position at a law firm, the building William is sleeping in front of. William is a great character and he has a lot of issues, some were out of his control others were just what he allowed to happen because he felt he didn’t deserve better. Amelia felt like she would never get a second chance at love, a divorced, single mother who works long hard hours at a law firm doesn’t exactly have time to go out and meet people. But she’s drawn to the sleeping bag the homeless person is sleeping in. That one feeling is all she needs to have something to focus on and she’s determined to help. There’s a lot of PTSD talk and symptoms, along with ways to cope and signs. Overall I loved the story. It was well written it moves from scene to scene flawlessly and it keeps you pulled in the whole time.
We’ll Begin Again by Lauren Lee was so easy to get caught up in. I felt like I had just started the book but then before I realized it we were coming up on the end. It was just so easy to get lost in both William and Amelia’s individual stories as well as in their story together.
Amelia has such a caring and strong heart. She see someone she knows nothing about, is drawn to him and decides she is going to help him out. It could have ended up so differently but she was able to help get someone a second chance.
William’s story is all too familiar. A Vet who has seen way more than the average person and has had so much person pain and loss. He was failed in so many ways, but thankfully that isn’t the end of his story.
I was not familiar with Lauren Lee before this book and haven’t had the chance to see what else she has, but I hope to come across more by her in the future.
Book Review: We'll Begin Again Author: Lauren Lee FIVE STARS A homeless warrior is given another chance to make a life for himself. I am a wounded warrior/military vet supporter and this book really hit me all up in my feelings. Amelia and her huge heart helping William in every way that she can. She is a very well dressed business woman who has no business approaching a strange homeless man on a park bench yet, we find her doing this more than once. Almost as if there is something that keeps drawing them together. I can't even form words in a cohesive way that will express all the things I think and feel about this book. PTSD is a very evil thing that more and more of our military personel suffer from and they do it alone. Many are too proud to see help and the others are just slipping through the cracks. I love this book. Kelli Harper
We’ll Begin Again by Lauren Lee. This is a new author to me and I am so glad that I read this book!!! I absolutely fell in love with this story. Amelia is trying to build a life for herself and her son, in a new city, after her divorce. She is excited to start a new job at a new law firm. She just has to figure out how to do it this time around as a single mom. William came home from his tours in the Army, after joining at a low point in his life. When he returned home, he found himself in an impossible situation, he ended up on the streets. When Amelia sees him, she is instantly drawn to him. They form a bond even tho he fights it at every angle. Can they come together and be what each other needs to move past the hurt and move forward together? This book had me drawn in from page one. I can not wait to read more by this author!!!
We’ll Begin Again is a second chance military romance by Lauren Lee. This is my first story by Ms. Lee, but definitely not last. I love the flow of the story and the detailed characters that are believable and true to life. This was an emotional roller coaster which left me with a book hangover for a couple days. Amelia was offered a new job and what a better way to start over with her son in a new city, leaving behind a nasty divorce. William is a veteran who after being discharged had nowhere to go. Both of them had a hard time acclementing to their new life. William end up living on the streets and Amelia struggles with her new job and dealing with things on her own. When their path cross what will happen? Can they learn to trust and communicate? You will need to get the book to find out what happens. You definitely won’t be disappointed.
We’ll Begin Again by Lauren Lee is a phenomenal story that I thoroughly enjoyed from the beginning until the end. It was nothing at all like I had expected, I’ve honestly never read a book like it. This was my first book by Lauren, but it certainly won’t be my last. William and Amelia’s story filled me with so much hope. Their story is touching, sweet, heart wrenching and so real, I was taken on an emotional roller coaster ride with this one.
All of the details from the characters emotions, their surroundings and their pasts made it so easy to picture everything playing out in my mind. This story had me laughing out loud and shedding many tears. It’s a story that I won’t soon forget. I can’t wait to read more of Lauren’s work in the future and I would absolutely recommend this book to others.
Ummm… wow!! Such a heartfelt, yet complex story!! This is beautifully told , with a deeply heartbreaking subject matter. It’s a wonderful way to honor our vets! This is my first time reading this author. But it’s such complex story! It had my emotions all over the darn place. I had to sit for a few minutes and absorb the story once I finished it. You gotta read this book!! It will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, wanting more! Once you start reading, you’ll immediately get sucked into the story and characters! I personally got invested in the characters. Rooting for them, praying they’ll tried their life around !! And it didn’t disappoint in the least!! I enjoyed it from beginning to end! Great job, Lauren ! I’m forever a new fan and looking forward to reading more from you in the future !!

Amelia, is a single mother who moves to a new city due to starting a new job. She wants to move on and make a better life for herself and son. William is a veteran, who has had a rough life and feels like he has no options left but to live on the streets. What will happen with Amelia and William cross paths? Will they be able to get past their history and help each other out?
