The future of Amleth hangs in the balance. On the icy slopes of Hofar Mountain, Drake’s forces are massing for one final assault. The siege of Hofar will soon be over, and stakes have never been higher. With the mountain citadel as a northern stronghold Drake will become unstoppable.
Only one man has the power to stop him, but will one man be enough?
Meanwhile, north of the mountains and oblivious to her brother’s war, Tirith attempts to rebuild her life after the death of her family. Her peace is thrown into turmoil once more when a visitor from her past brings news of Drake’s survival and tyrannical rule. Will Tirith remain in the shadows, or rise up and fight?
I really enjoyed The Wolf Within and have to say, I liked the first one but this was a whole other class. The characters and interactions are complex, the scenes are vivid and multi-dimensional and it’s never stagnant.
The story progresses nicely so much so that I often forgot I was reading. Traveling adventures through a variety of settings and meetings can do that to a person.
I loved the first book so was really looking forward to this one. It took me a while to get into as I had to remind myself of the characters and what happened before, but that was entirely my fault. Once I got going I couldn't put it down. Great characters, fabulous world building with a lot of depth. Some great new personalities and history to add to the first book. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Another great instalment in the Wolf We Feed trilogy - fans of the first book will not be disappointed! Fantastic character development. Showed an interesting insight into the story and added a new dimension to what we thought we knew from book one. Would recommend.
