Willow and Reid are best friends and do everything together, but they are not romantically involved. Willow's mom owns a matchmaking business. When she gives Willow the task of finding "the one" for Reid to prove she can take over her mother's business when she retires, Willow gives it her best shot. What happens next will keep you turning the pages.

Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow co-wrote another Fabulous story. It's got everything you want in a romance. It's witty, funny, and sexy, but with just the right amount of angst, and nobody died!

I highly recommend Imperfect Match.

There's no such thing as perfect...We were imperfect from the start..

➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS Image and video hosting by TinyPic IMPERFECT MATCH: Is a full length standalone rom/com novel by co-writers Melanie Harlow and Corinne Micheals.

When Willow's mother announces that she's retiring from 'My Hearts Desire' her successful matchmaking service she set up, Willow is just about ready to take over the reins with her sister.

Thirty-two year old Willow's life is just about full, she lives in a great apartment and right across the hall lives her best friend Reid Fortino for almost three years, Neither of them are attracted to the other, they just have an easy strictly platonic friendship going on.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

No one gets our friendship. She's beautiful, not to mention funny, smart, and put together in that I'm-a-Real-Adult way, but it's never been romantic for us. We've somehow managed to keep our friendship securely in the friendzone.

But the one thing she craves for most in the world is having a baby but that seems to be wishful thinking since she doesn't have the greatest track record when it comes to finding mr right which makes her think about her career choice.

Reid's happy with how his life is, he's moving up the ladder in a trendy up and coming marketing PR firm, he's happy being single and he doesn't want a relationship and kids do not factor in his future..At all..And that all stems from a bad upbringing him and his brother endured.

But now a challenge has been thrown down to find Reid his perfect match within a six month time frame. Not one to back down from a challenge Willow makes it her top priority. I'm going to find him a wife if it's the last damn thing I do. It's the perfect opportunity to prove to her mother that she's got what it takes to take over the business.

But somewhere along the way with these two their lines became blurred. Neither wanted things to change, neither wanted to lose the other. The only thing standing in their way was themselves and the fact that they wanted different things out of life.

What wasn't there to love about this book, from friends to lovers is my kryptonite, and this was no different, it ticked all my boxes, I giggled, I swooned, I loved these two characters. Throw in the quirky sister and that just added to the storyline. I couldn't put it down.

Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow wrote the sweetest best friends to lovers story. I adored Imperfect Match.

Willow is thirty two years old and has a plan for her life. That plan is to take over the family match-making company and have a baby. The problem? Willow isn't great at match making and is single. The single part is no biggie, that's what sperm donors are for, but the job is a whopper. She's determined to prove she's capable of match-making so she takes the challenge to find someone for her best friend who happens to be a permanent bachelor, Reid.

Reid doesn't have a girlfriend and doesn't want one. He's seen his parents relationship and if that's what love is, he wants no part. Instead, he's perfectly content spending all his free time with his best friend Willow and hooking up with the occasional girl here and there. As much as he doesn't want to be set up, he'd do almost anything for Willow.

As these two spend time trying to find the perfect girl for Reid, something becomes pretty apparent. The perfect girl for him has been right in front of him for a long time. And that perfect girl is Willow. Except that Reid doesn't want the one thing Willow wants more than anything...

Friends to lovers is a genre I always love to read. Reid and Willow's story was super fun and sweet until about the last 30%. Then it got a little real. The conflict made me anxious, but I was happy with the way it ended. The epilouge was the absolute sweetest! If you're looking for a sexy, swoony, and fun story about two best friends falling for one another, pick up Imperfect Match!!

In some ways, I think that Willow and I always knew this would happen. They say guys and girls can't just be friends, but we were-until we weren't.
I don't know when it changed, but I thank the Lord that it did.

Willow Hayes and Reid Fortino are just friends. Well, not just friends, BEST friends. They are neighbors, each other's nightly dinner date, and keeper to each other's secrets...well, for the most part. Everyone thinks they should be together.

Everyone but them.

Because why screw with a good thing? Until it just doesn't feel right anymore. And one look, one touch changes everything between these two.

I am a HUGE friends to lovers fan. Most books from this troupe has one character that has always harbored feelings for the other, and that's what makes this one different. Reid and Willow are TRUELY just friends...until they aren't. But there's so much more to their story.

I will say, their story is a little slow for me, but as soon as you hit that last third!?!

Drama.

Hurt.

Pain.

UGH! Damn you Corinne. Because I totally know it was you! Melanie is so sweet and adorable and then you come in and stir up a shit storm! I mean, I can totally see the convo going down...

Harlow: Ugh, I'm so in love with these two! Aren't you falling for Reid and Willow's story?
Michaels: Nope, too sweet. Let's make shit rain on these two!
Harlow: Oh, are you sure? I mean, I can't bring myself to do that to them.
Michaels: Hold my wine glass.

End of conversation. Corinne wins.

Now, do I know this for fact? No, but after reading EVERY SINGLE book Corinne has written, I see a pattern here.

Now, I need you to make me a promise. Promise me that after you finish Imperfect Match, you head on over to the link provided to get the bonus scene, because who doesn't love a full circle ending? And these two totally needed this scene. So. Damn. Cute. *whispers* Thank you Melanie for stuffing Corinne in a closet while you wrote it...I know that was totally you BTW **

NO SPOILERS!

Imperfect Match was a sexy, funny, angsty, emotional standalone friends-to-lovers romance, and I absolutely loved it! Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow are a phenomenal co-writing duo, and I adored their writing style and the storyline and characters they created. Imperfect Match was fun, engaging, and I didn’t want it to end!

The storyline was fantastic. Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow exceeded my expectations, and I completely fell in love with Reid and Willow’s story. Friends-to-lovers is one of my all-time favorite romance tropes, and these two authors knocked it out of the park. I loved Reid and Willow’s journey. It was steamy, funny, and made me laugh, cry, and smile like a fool, but I wouldn’t have changed any of it. The conflict was heartbreaking, but the resolution totally made up for it. Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow gave me the happily ever after I so desperately wanted for Reid and Willow, and it definitely put a smile on my face.

The characters were wonderful. I immediately fell head over heels in love with Reid and Willow. I loved their personalities and smoking hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved seeing them go from friends to lovers and everything in between. I loved reading the book from both Reid and Willow’s point of view, and most of their banter and interactions with each other. It wasn’t always easy for them, and there were some rough patches along the way, but I loved Reid, Willow, and their story so much, and was ecstatic with the conclusion. The secondary characters were also amazing, and I loved the humor and quirkiness they added to the story.

Imperfect Match was an absolute MUST READ love story from Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow! Reid and Willow’s journey was full of heat, heart, humor, emotions, and swoon, and I would HIGHLY recommend it! Michaels and Harlow are two of my favorite contemporary romance authors, and I can’t wait to devour whatever they release next, both individually and together!

An absolute sweet and lovable story!! I adore these authors and they definitely didn't disappoint with this stellar read. I'm a sucker for romance stories where best friends become lovers, sign me up. This one captured me from the start!!!

Reid and Willow have that relationship that is perfect. Best friends, so very comfortable with each other, and their families. They know so much about each other, right?? So what happens with they finally give into their desires? One of them wants different things with their future than the other. Will one scare the other off, will they both go all in, or will it blow up in their faces?? I hands down recommend you read this one to find out!!!!

Reid and Willow are soo GREAT together. I FLOVE their friendship, the banter, how comfortable they felt with each other. Willow's mom had me cracking up and her relationship with Reid was just too cute!!! Reid's brother and Willow's sister add to this wonderful experience.

NOW LIVE!!!

What an amazing and seamless writing duo Corinne and Melanie are!! The writing is flawless, the storyline well thought out and the characters, well, imperfect - but that is what makes this book such a gem to read.

Both Reid and Willow are flawed but they are the best of friends and know everything about the other. What we see is the next step in their friendship with a little help from Willow's mum and sister - who, alongside Willow, run a dating agency. Their imperfections play a huge role in the story and we find out how they are not the be all and end all to a relationship - and life goals.

As an emotive reader, I felt every emotion reading their story. It was such a rollercoaster from smiling at their banter and antics, pining for them to be together when they are apart, empathy for the back story and absolute, severe angst of the struggles they faced in overcoming their fears. And overriding this angst and heartache, was absolute joy at being able to see this story play out page after page.

Thank you, ladies - you are one heck of a team - simply amazing!!

Reid and Willow- best friends to lovers to how do they make it work when they want different things.... Melanie Harlow and Corinne Micheals do a great job writing these couple.

This book makes you laugh and feel good and breaks your heart a bit as Willow and Reid find a way to happily ever after. All the characters are great throughout the book! I loved Aspen Willow’s sister and their relationship as well as Reid and his brother Reid.

I couldn’t put this book down. It flowed really well and it’s a story of loving people no matter what and seeing the best in people even when they don’t see it themselves!!

Italian men are my weakness. The dark hair, the olive skin, the love of pasta. It is a truth universally acknowledged, that an Italian man in possession of an appetite must be in want of pasta. And that my friend means he will want to eat pasta with me every night. Perhaps at lunch too. Oh, hi there Reid (pouts my lips, flicks my hair, licks my lips). I make the best pasta puttanesca #justsaying

Reid Fortino has that other quality I adore in a man. He can laugh his girl right into bed. He’s hilarious and witty. I think he might be my perfect match. I need to look up the number of Willow Hayes because word on the street is that she’s trying to find his forever woman. Form an orderly queue behind me ladies, I claim first dibs. I’ll even wear my superhero knickers for him.

* 5 amazing stars *

I am a *HUGE* sucker for best-friends-to-lovers stories. It's my favorite genre so you can only imagine how I excited I was when my favorite author, Melanie Harlow teamed up with another amazing author, Corinne Michaels to write this book. Together, these two powerhouse authors deliver a funny, sexy and emotional story that hit all the right notes and then some. In a word, I LOVED it.

Reid and Willow were such fun characters. Their friendship was so real and reminiscent of one I had with my best friend of the opposite sex when I was younger so I really identified with it well. They had a special connection and their relationship flowed perfectly. Their banter was fun, witty and entertaining. And, of course, their sexual chemistry was off the charts! Reid and Willow just really worked well together and that made them that much more believeable. Willow's sister Aspen was a hoot and I'd really love to see more of her at some point. She was wacky but super intriguing!

Imperfect Match is beautifully written and perfectly executed. It's everything you could want in a book and you will fall in love with both Reid and Willow. Harlow and Michaels nailed this story and it's one you don't want to miss. 5 stars

I love Reid and Willow in their endearing, heartfelt, and steamy, friends to lovers romance! They are so much fun, and their chemistry is off the charts! Reid and Willow are best friends and neighbors. When Willow's mom pressures them both, for different things, everything begins to change. They want to help each other, altho reluctantly, and that makes them begin to see each other in a new light. There were so many laugh out loud, and awkward moments that were so hilarious. But it was the sweet, and steamy moments that stole my heart. Reid and Willow are great together, they compliment each other so perfectly balancing each others flaws. Their banter is so much fun and their chemistry is explosive. Their quirky family members, who couldn't stay out of their business, made this story even more entertaining. I loved both Reid and Willow but the epilogue made me swoon and fall even harder for Reid! Michaels and Harlow make a great writing team! They created a beautiful, refreshing, and witty story with so much passion and heart. I loved it all and look forward to more from this duo!

Oh my gosh you all.... I saw this cover and couldn't wait to dive right in. Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow have done it again! To say that Willow and Reid will not have you laughing out loud or smiling to yourself would totally be not enough. The witty comments, the adorableness (probably not even a word) but these two had my heart from the start and kept me turning the pages. I absolutely love the writing style of Melanie and Corinne together the characters they create had me head over heels. This book is at the top of my MUST READ list with a 5 Star rating all day long. ENJOY Y'all I know I did.

4.5 ⭐️’s. Again Corinne and Melanie wrote a book that flows together so well. There were no awkward or unnecessary parts.
I really enjoyed Reid and Willow’s chemistry and just the way they have fun together. They are true friends who are always there for each other and know each other so well.
Some of the things they say will make you laugh. It’s a book that keeps your interest and you will not want to put it down. I hoping there will be another book with some of the characters Imperfect Match.

Imperfect Match is a feelgood romance that had me smiling at every turn! Corinne and Melanie pulled out all the stops bringing us a friend's to lovers story that is full of emotion.

Reid and Willow have been best friends for years. They have the type of relationship that just flows so smoothly. Knowing what the other is thinking before they say it, busting each other's chops constantly, but also being each other's biggest supporter. It's the perfect setup, until one day Willow realizes her feelings for Reid are more than friends. And what do you know, Reid realizes the same thing.

Corinne and Melanie lay out a story that was both light and heavy at the same time of two people trying to navigate the minefield of becoming more than just friends. There is a perfect blend of lighthearted romance paired with serious issues that each character is dealing with. Both Reid and Willow have very steadfast beliefs that threaten to derail this newfound relationship they're navigating. Is the love they have for each other going to be enough to overcome the hurdles in their path?

Imperfect Match is the second collaboration between Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow, and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite writing duos! Reid and Willow were easy to fall in love with and their story left me with a huge smile on my face and a very happy heart. A definite must read!!

5 Perfectly Imperfect Stars!!!

I have to say, first off, that this writing duo of Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow are proving to be INCREDIBLE!!! With Imperfect Match, they have become one of THE best writing duos.....ever!!!

Reid and Willow are best friends....they share absolutely everything (well, ALMOST!) They live across the hall from one another and spend pretty much ALL their free time together! When Willow has to find Reid's "perfect" match through her mother's dating service in order to save the company, as well as her job, THAT'S when things start becoming dicey...and hilarious, sometimes angsty and emotional. I LOVED how these two seemingly very different people worked out how they could have what they BOTH wanted in the end!

I loved both Reid's brother, Leo (the slightly more emotionally damaged of the siblings) and Willow's sister, Aspen (the VERY quirky but lovable character), as well as Willow's Mom (the dialogue between Willow and her Mom had be laughing out loud on many occasions) that add so much to this truly unforgettable love story!

This glorious, riveting best friends-to-lovers romance is sweet, funny, sexy-as-all-get-out and has just enough angst to make your heart hurt a little....in other words, it's PERFECTLY imperfect! Just like Reid and Willow! I can't recommend this one highly enough!

Reid and Willow and such a fun couple. You see these two people swearing that they are just friends and as the reader you giggle a bit because you KNOW what's coming for them and it's gonna be sweet. Corrine and Melanie do not disappoint. This is a beautiful friends to lovers story that shifts into something deeper about half way through. Romance novels are about hope and love and finding what makes you whole and happy. Reid and Willow have some big issues to work through to get there and it does get rocky. Aspen, the hippie sister, starts off as a quirky annoying side character but quickly becomes the champion and eventual hero.....and nobody dies :)

“This is crazy, but I don’t care. It’s right. It’s everything that finally makes sense. I wondered what it would be like and now I know – it’s fucking perfect.”

4.5 stars - So freaking cute!

I loved this book! It's funny, sweet, sexy and emotional with a gorgeous friends-to-lovers romance. Michaels and Harlow are such a fantastic writing team and this book is pure easy entertainment.

Willow and Reid are neighbours and best friends. Since they met three years ago they have pretty much become each other’s worlds – they hang out every night, they share their lives, she cooks for him, they shop together, and they tell each other everything. They are both completely happy with what they have, and despite being teased about their romantic status, they are completely platonic and happy that way, and OMG they are fantastic together! They laugh and joke, they accept each other exactly as they are, and their banter is freaking hilarious!

Everything starts to change between them when Willow is put to the test by her mother. In order to take over her family’s match-making business, she needs to match Reid, the eternal bachelor, with his perfect woman – and she realises that she wants that woman to be her.

This is Reid. Reid, my stupid best friend who I cuddle on the couch with. The one who makes weird faces and eats my food. He’s not the guy that makes my heart race.
He’s never been that guy. Not even shirtless.
But right now, my chest is tight and my pulse is through the roof.

This romance is so freaking cute! As soon as Willow realises her true feelings, Reid also decides it’s time to make his move, and it’s all on. The chemistry starts to build as their friendship shifts in a huge way, and it’s so awesome! There is a bit of back and forth as they figure it all out, but I loved watching them find their way to each other, and it’s hot, sweet and swoony as they easily and naturally embrace all that’s happening between them.

“What do you want, Reid?”
“You, this, everything.”

“I will never forget last night, not in a million fucking years. It meant everything to me.”

I love that even though things change between them, they maintain the sense of fun that developed during their friendship. I laughed at their banter, and loved the easiness between them.

He stirs behind me, and I feel a little tap-tap-tap on my ass. It makes me snicker, and even though I try to smother it, he hears.
“Are you laughing at my erection?” he asks, his voice gravelly.
“I would never,” I say, putting a hand over my mouth.
“Good, because there is nothing funny about my dick. It is a very serious, very large, very important thing.”
I burst out laughing. “Is that so?”

But even though things between them are blissful, they both want different things - Reid’s hard family life means that he is happily single and determined to stay that way, but Willow wants marriage and a family so badly that she’s been looking into having a baby on her own, something that Reid is not happy about. And neither of them are willing to compromise. Will they be able to hold on to the love that they’ve found, or will they be better off as friends – if they even go back to that?

“We’re just getting started, Wills. Stay with me, right here in this moment, and let’s just enjoy it for a while.”

It’s an emotional journey for them, but it’s handled beautifully, bringing a bit of drama to what is otherwise a fun romantic comedy, and I love the feels that come as they figure out what they truly want.

His forehead rests on mine. “I don’t know how I ever lived without you like this, Wills.”

The story ends in a great place, and don’t miss out on the chance to read the bonus epilogue, because it’s absolute perfection!

Such a gorgeous read, I loved it.

They say guys and girls can’t just be friends, but we were – until we weren’t. I don’t know when it changed, but I thank the Lord that it did.

4.5 stars.

Reid and Willow are the perfect imperfect match!!

Corinne and Melanie bring you a steamy, friends to lovers romance that will keep you hooked from the first page. Great story and awesome characters. I really loved Willow's sister, Aspen. Reid's brother Leo is a great side character too.

They are best friends who live across the hall from each other and spend most of their time together. They are the most married, unmarried couple and yet they are just friends.

Willow works at her mother's matchmaking company and hasn't had much luck putting matches together. She doesn't seem to have the gift that her mom and sister do. She doesn't want her mother to sell the business though, so in a last ditch effort to prove herself, she says she will find Reid his perfect match.

Reid is sexy and charming with an Italian temper that can get him into trouble. He had a hard childhood and never wants to get married or have kids. Willow thinks the right woman will help him see his true worth. Neither have shown romantic feelings toward the other before, but suddenly they can't stop thinking about each other in a romantic way.

Willow wants a baby even if she has to do it herself, Reid wants Willow but doesn't want the whole marriage and kids thing. They want different things, but can they make it work together?

Who can resist a friends-to-lovers romance? Not me, that's for sure, and, 'Imperfect Match,' by writing duo Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels is absolutely delicious. A very pretty, easy on the mind kind of read... I really enjoyed this enchanting, sweet romance that truly blossoms beautifully throughout. It develops into a very pretty story that was ideal reading company on my recent holiday.

Reid Fortino is gorgeous, sexy, intelligent and witty, the perfect romantic hero. Readers looking for love will want their very own Reid Fortino. Willow is the heroine of our story and best friend of Reid. It becomes her responsibility to find Reid his perfect female match. She's determined but soon discovers that she may want him for herself, putting her job and heart at risk and this is where the story begins to flourish providing all the swoony feels I love in an easy read romance.

From the beginning it's clear where this story will take the reader, there are no surprises, which to be honest, made it the perfect read for me whilst I was in holiday mode. The protagonists both have back stories and a family history that has shaped their thoughts and feelings, providing just the right amount of depth for this light and breezy romance that is low on angst and high on love. It's super swooney, sweet, and effortless to engage with. If a light, easy breezy cute read is what you're in the mood for, this story is totally delightful and would probably be just what the doctor ordered!
