The sexy rookie with the massive... firehose... is giving his lady boss lieutenant dating lessons.
The biggest womanizer in town says he can help me get a date with the man of my dreams. If he's right, I'll finally end up with the kind of man that my mother wants. If he's wrong, I get a front row seat to watching the know-it-all fail. Either way, I'm coming out a winner. At least that's how it seems, until he kisses me for the first time.
The new firefighter at my station is not the type of woman who needs any help getting a date. She's smoking hot, tough, and smart. She definitely deserves a lot better than what the rich guy she's trying to land has to offer. She thinks I'm nothing more than a good-time-guy, but I'll prove her wrong. Because when I finally convince her to go out with me, I'll make sure it's her last first date.
I really can't judge this book. I had a very hard time staying interested in it. Too much going back & forth. It just didn't get my interest, nor keep it. I've never read this Author before.
Last first date is by Anna Michael who is a new author to me. I was excited to read this but I was a little disappointed in it. SOOO many d**k references and innuendos being thrown around. I enjoyed the witty banter and how easily Darcy could get back at Abernathy for the stuff he would say. I liked the characters and how Darcy was a firefighter and a pretty cool woman. I thought it was a bit odd though that she couldn’t get a date or a guy by herself. She seemed to be confident one moment and then not know how to act the next. Abernathy was a cool guy and it was nice that he was trying to help kids. I wish that these characters had a bit more of a background though. Not sure what happened to Darcy’s father? It was great that Abernathy and her mother got along so well and we was able to have that mother figure back in his life. Don’t remember reading about his actual mother though? At times I was skimming paragraphs to get to the dialogue and I enjoy having an epilogue but this one was just a little odd. Not going to mention why because of spoilers but I felt that the epilogue could have been put into the actual story and then gotten a year or so later for the epilogue. I’m kinda interested in reading about Daniels and what happens with the new character you meet at the end of this story though.
I won this book in a book group on Facebook. It was an advanced copy, a few days before the release, well I wanted to read the first two before I read this one. This one, the third book is the best one yet. The author continues to get better with every book and this one was great! Who doesn't love hot firefighters and calendars? That is how Darcy meets who will come to be someone that really aggravates her, but is it really because she feels something more for this man? Read to find out what is actually Darcy's Last First Date.
But the writing was so bad I threw up in my mouth a little. Seriously debating give this title to one of my favorite tiktokers to read aloud. Oozing and swollen man bits, "giganticadick," and lady blue balls could definitely be good roasting material. She, maybe a male, got the essentials right he has to be more than what he's swinging and she has to be awesome. If it's instalove there has to reasons to fall in love with the characters that go beyond physical. Is it much beyond no but all I ask is deeper than a puddle.
Last First Date: A Last First Kiss novel by Anna Michael
‘“You’re taking too long to get to the good part. You said fifteen minutes, but I don’t see you making me come within that time limit.”
He shakes his head slowly, a lazy smile curving up the heartbreaking shape of his handsome face. “You’re missing the point. With us, everything is the good part.”’
Anna Michael is fast becoming one of my favourite authors for romantic-comedy. The dialogue between her lead characters is always so hilarious, it’s snappy, fresh and timed so perfectly. I actually lost count how many times I laughed out loud through this book. Anna has a tendency to write some killer banter and when your heroine is surrounded by innuendo-packed alpha firefighters all day long, you have to make sure she can hold her own in that testosterone fuelled setting. I’m ecstatic to report however, that Darcy is the very definition of a badass female protagonist. She is strong in body and mind. Tomboyish but also feminine and soft.
She is feisty and fierce, yet a little sensitive and a whole lot sweet underneath it all. As a reader, to me, she’s someone you would love to have as a friend, you just instantly connect with her character and her personality.
Abernathy was a hot-as-Hades firefighting, piece of delicious man candy, and I am totally okay with objectifying him, mainly because he’s fictional but even if he weren’t, I would climb him like a spider monkey. It wasn’t just his uniform that got to me, either. He was funny and ridiculous and arrogant and do you know what? I always find those kinds of heroes to be the perfect specimen of man, when it comes to romantic comedies. When he has a filthy mouth and an even filthier mind, you know you’ve hit the jackpot.
In conclusion, if you like your romantic-comedies jam-packed full of side-splitting humour, hardcore flirting and teasing and oodles of heat, romance, exploits and “incidents”, not forgetting inappropriate old aunties, then this book is the perfect read to elevate your mood, giving you a lovely grin on your face from start to finish.
There is something about firefighters that’s just a turn on! Get a room full of them together for a calendar photo shoot and it’s a recipe for success!
Thomas is one of the firefighters in Darcy’s new firehouse and even though she finds herself attracted to him, she absolutely can’t act on it or none of the guys will let her live it down.
Darcy’s mother is a rich socialite who is always doing fund raising for various projects around town. The firefighter photo shoot for the calendar is her latest project and this is where Darcy and Thomas meet!
Darcy finds herself in a predicament and needs Thomas to help her. As they work together the heat between them grows brilliant they finally act on it! But Thomas thinks he’s not good enough for Darcy - his own feelings not anything projected by her - and pulls himself out of the picture by treating Darcy like crap!
The tension and angsty vibe is there throughout the book and makes for an easy read. What steals the show in these books though, is the resident dirty old lady, Aunt Opal. She provides so much humor throughout this book, that you’ll find yourself laughing out loud!!
So humor, angst, tension, sexy times & a group of hot firefighters — what more could you ask for from a book!! This is book 3 of a 4 book series and I’ve absolutely loved the series so far!! Anna Michael is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There is nothing sexier than a firefighter that knows how to use his hose. That describes Thomas Abernathy perfectly. One look from him and he will burn your panties right off. He has a reputation with the ladies and I need his help in getting a date. My mother is on my case to hook me up with a man who is so not my type. But to get her off my back and stop harassing me, I suck it up. Being a firefighter myself, I am happy in my own skin and being one of "the boys" at the fire station. I am definitely not the refined type like my mother, but too bad, so sad.
When Thomas and Darcy are in the same room the electricity sparks everywhere. The banter and sexual tension between them is utterly delicious. They both get a surprise of their lives when they end up kissing each other for the first time. That's when all the fun starts and not all in a good way.
Anna Michael loves to tantalize her readers which makes you want to find out what happens next. A sexy, amusing and very entertaining story.
I was granted an ARC of Last First Date and couldn't wait to dive into the book. What I read about it sounded like something I would enjoy. Also the author is new to me so I was excited to see what she had to offer. I wasn't disappointed with the book or author. The book flowed easily keeping me interested with humorous scenes as well as intense chemistry between the 2 main characters.
Darcy is a lieutenant at the fire station where Thom just started his career. He agrees to help her with her dating technique. These two share plenty laughable moments, but also some mixed up feelings that lead to complicated situations. Although their connection is strong, their relationship takes work.
I loved the secondary characters in this book too. Can't wait to see what lies ahead for Daniels! I hope he gets his story next!
This was my first time reading Anna Michael’s work, and I was not disappointed. Her writing keeps you captivated and wanting more with each page. This is a wonderful book about a woman who is a Firefighter Lieutenant and the sexy ex-lawyer who is now a rookie firefighter. When these two first meet at a calendar photo shoot it’s sexual tension from the beginning. When she becomes his boss, she wants a favor from him, and it leads to some hot sex and lots of arguments. Thomas doesn’t think that he’s good enough for Darcy because he wasn’t born from a rich family, but little does he know, that doesn’t matter to her. This book will not leave you disappointed. It’s full of the laughter, sex and two people getting to know one another in the middle of a firehouse.
If you like a fast paced, dual point of view romance with lots of innuendos and is very spicy, I bet you’ll like this book.
So many innuendos, but I guess I should’ve anticipated as she was the Lieutenant in a sea of male firefighters. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and beginning starts with firefighters posing for a calendar.
Last First Date is about 200 pages so the plot moves very quickly; glad the epilogue was included. I did end up skimming at least 1/3 of this book.
I liked Thomas and Darcy but I wasn’t invested in their lives.
This book was very hot and steamy. I thought Darcy was a strong and likeable character for holding her own in a stereotypically male dominated workplace. Interesting dynamics and miscommunication in all directions. I liked how some supporting characters provided humour in the book - enter Aunt Opal. Recommend this book for an easy firefighting romance. I received a complimentary copy of the book from Voracious Readers Only.
"Opal Marie Hopf answers the door in a hot pink feathered dressing gown with feathered trim. I can hear Abernathy make a loud gulp as he gets an eyeful of our town’s resident dirty old lady auntie fully made up and wrapped in her frilly lingerie, all before 9:00 a.m" Aunt Opal is hilarious!!! I'm so hooked on this series. Lots of misunderstandings, lots of laughs and lots of feelings.
I received a copy of this book from voracious readers and I really liked reading it. The length and pace of the book was perfect and enjoyable, it was short enough to keep me interested but not to short to be rushed. The chemistry and attraction between Darcy and Thomas was amazing and perfectly described. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes steamy romances.
Darcy and Thomas have the perfect story although they don't seem to realize it. Fun and sass by both characters. Hot firefighters. Those amazing calendars. A mom you try to please. I couldn't recommend this story enough!
I recieved a copy of this book through Voracious Readers to review. I enjoyed this book, it was funny, sexy and sweet. It was fast paced and I did not want to put it down. This was my first time reading anything by Anna Michael, but I look forward to reading more!
I loved this! It’s the second book in this series & so some of the characters were already familiar. You really feel like you get to know them all as friends, real people. I can’t wait to see who the third book in the series will be about 🥰
This book was amazing...from start to finish it grabbed me...looking for love in all the wrong places...till now...could not put this book down...loved it
Thom and Darcy put the FIRE in FIREFIGHTERS!! These two are just hot, hot, hot!
Who doesn't love a fine ass man with a playboy reputation?! That exactly who Thomas Abernathy is! And then here comes badass Darcy von Albrecht taking him by surprise. From their meet cute (meet sexy?! haha), to their exploits and encounters with the town's resident dirty old lady this book is just full of fun.
If you love hot fire fighters, witty banter, hot sex and swoony romance then this book is for you!!
