Lillie Joanna’s struggle is real. You would think that being born a goddess she would have it made, but no. She strives to find her footing while fulfilling her Keeper duties. As a Keeper of Souls, she inherently knows that something is missing in her life, but what? As she contemplates her future, she begins to question her Keeper abilities as well. It has not gone unnoticed that she is the one Keeper tasked with carrying more souls to The Underworld than all her fellow Soul Keepers in Taisclainne Anam. Why, for the love of pixie dust in Faerie, is that the case? If that weren’t enough to worry about, she has a new mission, to uncover what she can on the New Raven Order. An order that is loyal to the fallen goddess, Morríganna. She needs answers on all counts. After a chance encounter, she decides to team up with the sinfully handsome, but surly duke of The Underworld, Daxell Greyson.
Doomed to split his time between The Mortal Realm and The Underworld, Daxell has his own demons to wrestle. The moment Lillie falls into his arms, he finds himself letting his guard down. No female has ever affected him as she does. Against his better judgment, he agrees to help the feisty little goddess dig up information on the New Raven Order.
Things are about to spin out of control for the two as the New Raven Order ups the stakes in their plan to bring their phantom queen back from hell. Will they succeed? What will it cost the realms if The Morrígan returns, or … is something else afoot?
This exciting new stand-alone trilogy picks up with the children of the Realms of the Otherworld series in an all-new story.
Jana LaPelle was born and raised in central Kentucky where she resides to this day. Growing up she found a love for reading at an early age, as early as five or six years old. Her favorite part of her school day was going to the library. Soon she became a Sci-Fi geek and fell in love with all sorts of fantastical tales. Once discovering ebooks to feed her addiction she was hooked and now never leaves home without an entire library of books at her fingertips. Her Kindle is a constant companion. Nowadays, her free time is spent bringing the stories in her head to life and pursuing a long-lived dream of writing. Instead of finding her curled up with a good book during her free time, it is now spent typing away on her next book. Some of her favorite authors and inspiration are Amy Bartol, Elisabeth Naughton, Casandra Clare, Addison Moore, and Jennifer Armentrout to name a few.
Aside from reading and writing, Jana enjoys the simple things in life, such as time spent with family and friends, vacationing on the gulf coast in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She dreams of traveling abroad, in particular, Ireland and Scotland and hopes to do that sooner rather than later, especially since Ireland has become one of her muses. Her son, Gabriel, is a daily source of inspiration and without whom she may have never embarked on her journey as a writer.
Lillie Joanna has a bunch of changes coming her way that takes her on a roller coaster of an adventure. She does not have to do the trip by herself, though, as an enticing love interest comes along for the ride. Just a fun read, full of quirky twists and turns, and non-stop thrills.
This book is a spin off of the Realms of the Other World series but can be read first. I would encourage reading the other series though for the back story.
I loved the previous series but this one blew me away! Told from Lilli Joanna's and the very sexy Daxell point of view this story is a great adventure that takes the reader through the Realms of the world including Hell.
You get to meet many original and odd characters throughout the way that lead the readers imagination to run wild. There are many twists and turns and heart racing moments but also sweet and happy moments.
I enjoyed the writing style and found this book to be great escapism from the current crisis in the world. I looked forward to quiet times when I could read and now am sad its ended.
A great read for fans of the young adult genre but a great start for anyone wanting to read something different. I am 40 and loved the book!
