New to me author, I was recommended this book from Goodreads and I have to say I am glad I read it. “Samuel” is book one in Nicky Fox’s Bachelor Blood Coven series. It’s a short, sweet and enjoyable Novella. This book is told in duel pov’s Samuel and Joan.
I really enjoyed this book, it was short but I feel it was just the right amount for the whirlwind romance for Samuel and Joan. The storyline was fantastic, it was interesting, engaging, sweet, romantic, fast paced and well written. I look forward to reading Lucien to see what is next in store and to see how these characters are going.
Samuel is a three hundred plus year old Vampire, he has no memories of who or what his life was like before he was turned, all he knows is he name is Samuel. He has wandered the world draining and killing humans with no enjoyment or remorse. But one night when out and wandering the streets he comes across a lost and stressed Joan. Her scents lures and intrigues him, wanting to know her he approaches her and offers to help her home, but her scent is too strong and he looses control biting her and making a connection between her that he never meant to happen.
Joan is alone, after her parents died she is moving from relative to relative, being paraded around to all the eligible bachelors. She is instantly intrigued and attracted to the mystery man who offers to escort her home after getting lost returning from a party, they have a long and wonderful conversation with a few intimate touches and caresses, hoping that Samuel will kiss her goodnight, instant he kisses her neck. Breaking out with a fever and feeling off, Joan‘s thoughts constantly wonder to the gorgeous male from the night before.

I usually don’t read books dated so far back. The language gets too confusing. Not this one, I just imagined it was a cross between “Pride and Prejudice and Bram Stoker's Dracula”. The epilogue was super sexy, loved it.

Phenomenal book!!!!
