I thought I had survived the kings’ games.

I thought I had finally emerged victorious.

I was wrong.

Reeling from the disappearance of one of my mates, I must fight harder and smarter than ever before.

The new game? A scavenger hunt.

The prize? My lost mate.

With the world in political unrest, assassins hunting us at every turn, and new alliances being forged and old ones being broken, I don’t know if I’ll make it out of this alive.

Especially with the poison still coursing through my blood.

Maybe...

Maybe I’m just a glutton for punishment.

Let the new Damning commence.

This is book three of a seven book reverse harem series. That means the FMC will not have to choose between love interests at the end. This book contains strong language, sexual situations, and scenes of graphic violence. Reader's discretion is advised.

This is me just realizing that there is probably going to be 7 books in this series. 🥴
This is me just realizing that the next book in this series doesn't even have a release date yet. 🤦‍♀️

Why? Why do I start all these unfinished series! WHY WHY WHY.

Ok, sorry I'm reeling my crazy back in. We are off to find our mate with Zara.. kind of. I don't know I just feel so frustrated in these books about not only the lack of information we have but also the fact that we never seem to be getting the info, nor are we getting ahead. Always reactive never proactive, and its really not sitting well with me. I'm loosing my cool lol.

Here we are at the end of book 3 and we still don't know wth is going on here. I just don't even know right now. Maybe one of these days we will get some answers, who knows when.

I found this one to be lacking something the first two had. Maybe it was the fact that it seemed a little rushed. Did I still enjoy it? Yes, just not as much as the first two. So far this one has been the shortest of the 3 books I’ve read so far in the series and it shows. I am happy it got right into the action and adventure but at the same time some of it, mainly Jax’s story, felt rushed to me. I wish he had a little bit more coherence in this story for us to really understand his personality a little more. We only had seen him as crazy, walking around naked, and mumbling to himself. Then he is in his right mind and I don’t really understand him as a person. I probably just need to be patient and we will get more about him in the next one. Just disappointed because this book, “Greed”, was technically supposed to be about him and his story. It just didn’t feel that way.
I’m still fully invested in this story and happy to see some answers have come out, but that also leaves me with a ton still left unanswered and I’m ready to unwrap those as well!

I am so sorry i wanted to Love this book. I liked the series and i've been waiting for IT since i finished envy. But it was soooooo boring. I got the Feeling that nothing really happended. Like a filler. Infodump at the beginning and at the end.

4⭐️’s - I’m debating on my rating this because I am annoyed at what I knew the author was doing. The last half of the book felt like filler with “Easter eggs” dropped in the middle of what I felt like fluff.

I was getting bored, tbh, about to FF on the audiobook, then we get a steamy bit that was interesting (obv 🥵) but felt kinda misplaced. Then a super “average” scene and then pure havoc occurred and then we get to see what is actually going on (despite it being a foreshadowing VERY early on). It’s to the point where all of the MC’s are revereted back to BEYOND immature levels of communication.

Let’s be real: for a relationship(s) to work, whether it be friends, lovers, etc., and everyone involved wants to keep it lasting and thriving, COMMUNICATION IS KEY YOU DUMMIES!!

If the FMC loves these guys and doesn’t want to push them away (or unbeknownst to her, kill them), TALK about the dreams… or the others, TALK about the speculations or rumors or research or findings when spying.

Now I’m left with another cliffhanger that I am hoping continuing this book will give me a modicum of relief so I can go to sleep at this late hour… 🤞

How many twists and turns can my heart take??

This book was everything I hoped for and more. The secrets, the betrayals, the twists and the emotions may leave you exhausted (but in the best way!). The mystery of Z and her guys continues but in this installment their love for one another shines through. This book was full of heart pounding moments, pain and angst and was honestly an awesome read. We finally get a clearer picture of Aaliyah but they why is still a giant question mark. And the ending, well it was a shocker!

I am so obsessed with these books. I'm flying through them and don't want to do anything but read read read. These book are too short, I don't know what I'll do when this story is finished. I've read books with better plots, better characters, and yet the writing of these books is pulling me in better than some other books. I'm truly utterly obsessed.

I really hate myself for not picking up the books from Katie May sooner! The moment I start one of her books it feels impossible to put the book away before I finish. I drown in these books, I forget the world around me and I'm just reading and reading because I wanna know how it ends. I had to fight the urge to pick up the next book in this series right away, but I managed to do so. However, I'm really looking forward to buy and read May's entire backlist.

This book starts where the previous book ended and from there it's a rollercoaster of emotions and action. Quite often in series there are a few books just filling in gaps, moving the characters from A to B, but that's so not the case in this series. There is not one dull moment, there's not one boring chapter, there's not one useless word. And I feel every word, because despite everything May really focusses on the feelings.

It's quite impressive how she describes what's going through these characters, how they're feeling and how they're dealing with all the horrible things life throws at them. But I feel every word and every sentence and I just hold my breath for the entire book. The story is that intense, not just because May touches on some really dark themes, but also because the characters are feeling everything so intensely.

And that's one of the many reasons why I love these characters so much. Because I know how they feel, because I feel everything they feel, it feels like I've grown very close to them, like they've become my best friends or even my lovers. When bad things happen to them, I feel those in my heart and cry along with them. And when good things happen to them I'm simply hoping for more moments like that. I really can't wait to read on and to see what happens next!

ps. The part of the world ruled by the vampires is DISGUSTING!

I don’t remember these books being so poorly written? I enjoyed the first two and this installment was interesting but I definitely prefer her other books. I’m invested in these characters though and will continuing reading the series when the books are released.

No strong representations of diverse characters or minority identities.

Overall: 4.5/5 stars

Everyone in this novel was significantly less annoying—which I know is a really bizarre opening comment. But, Heroine’s who refuse to communicate (and ignore their emotions) are so frustrating. Also, the Heroes are still keeping secrets but at least they’re slowly starting to open up (it’s no surprise that my favourite Hero is Killian since he’s so freaking earnest and honest—he’s 100% a cinnamon roll).

I forgot how action oriented this series is but the rigorous pacing made the book super engaging. I also loved how the author tied in moments of emotional development between the Heroine and her men into the high intensity plot.

Gluttony is Jax’s book (because it’s his sin) but he doesn’t get a lot of page time with Z because he’s been abducted! (That’s the cliffhanger from the last book.)

The group gets permission from the Kings to rescue Jax who has been abducted by Z’s mysterious nemesis Aaliyah. Gluttony takes the time to give the reader *some* background to who Aaliyah is—honestly she gave me an anti-Heroine vibe which I’m hoping could be a plot twist later on in the series (not a spoiler just my suspicions).

There are also multiple sub-plots that get hinted at throughout the novel: Where Dair disappears to with his father, what Mali has been up to and the introduction of the old Kings’ Assassin: Axel.

So often in darker books MCs rationalize doing things as an act of survival (example in this book: torture someone yourself to ensure they don’t die because you can’t trust the other person not to kill them). The interesting thing about this book is that Z really struggles with this kind of rationalization. She’s constantly seeking for a third option—to not be a bystander but also not to inflict the lesser of evils in the name of survival. I’m hoping the author continues with this moral conundrum Z’s facing since it’s very rarely explored.

Overall, I really liked the book. My one detractor was that I just wished the rest of Z’s men (everyone besides Killian) would accept that they don’t and shouldn’t be cosseting her. It comes from a place of fear and love for her... but Z’s been protecting herself for a long time.

Also, that cliffhanger! So excited to read the next book.

Great book, wait entirely too long

This book is an amazing series, but I think the wait between each book is ridiculous. The wait between these books is like a neglectful spouse. They neglect you for so long that you just decide to call it quits, kick them out, and swear you're done for the last time. Then out of nowhere the spouse comes back with flowers and candy while swearing to never do it again. And then we take them back just for it to happen all over again. With this metaphor, it's to say we have a neglectful author that doesn't appreciate her readers. I understand that this isn't an overnight masterpiece, I really do. I understand having more than one project at a time, but the wait time is horrible to the point I just want to be done. But, the story is beyond perfect so I hate myself a little more every time is go nuts for the newest book in this series (and I have to reread the earlier ones just to know what's going on). I thought I was being generous giving 3 stars over this long wait when the series could easily get 5+ stars from me (and that's a rarity from me) for the story alone. But when an author leaves a cliffhanger and makes you wait a year for the next book, shows there's no appreciation for the reader/fans. Four months max for a book series like this.

So freaking good!

Katie May has done it again! Surprised me, brought me to near tears, had me laughing out loud for all my family to give me the weird stink eyes of "what is laughing at?"
Yes, the world itself is under such a dark ruling. The twisted way everything is slowly coming to light. She has a fantastic way of engaging you and bringing you one with the characters.
Z, the FMC is a bad*$$ and I adore her compassion, her bravely, her denial of love...oh and don't forget her wit. Her mates are just as sexy and strong willed who go the extra mile to show the love and care behind their mate.
Just so you know this definitely has a cliffhanger and pretty much a surprise all together on the twist woven through. If you havnt started reading the Damning series then you need to because the heat of the couples, the battle scenes and the overall plot is so worth it.

Spoiler alert below this scentence.....

Will Z's dream come to fruition or is it just a nightmare? Is S really Z's mate? What will happen when Z finds put about T's betrayal? Will Z wake up?
Gosh so many questions....I'm just happy that they got Jax back even if it had to go the way it did....and yup I pretty much wanted to cry about that.

Well another book down in the twisted tale of Z and her mates. I enjoyed seeing the bonds strengthen between Z and her mates, while they try to navigate this crazy world they find themselves in. I really can't wait for all the secrets to be shared because I really need to know everything that's going on and why it's happening. The only thing I still don't really like about this series is that everytime I read one of these books they don't fully suck me in, it might be because we're still towards the beginning of the series and all the extreme action hasn't happened yet in which case I can't wait for that to happen and I get fully sucked in. Overall I love this world and I can't wait to see what happens next to these characters.

This book was a treat for the readers. This book has so much happening and so much growth for all the characters. We see z growing in her relationships and opening her heart to her mates but at the same time she needs to be honest with them about her health. I love seeing some new mates get steamy times with z. There was also so much heartbreak and despair for her in this book. But like steel she is being forged to come out of this victorious like everything in her life she has over come. We learn a little more about our elusive baddie aliyah. We also find out secrets her men and what’s like if her family are keeping from her. I ended this book with a big omg face!!! Amazing job by the author can’t wait for the next one.

Not going to say much except that the author honestly should’ve just made Z have six mates and not seven. Unfortunately the one I think should go is Jax :( I love him but him and Z have zero connection and Jax is barely even in the book. Their relationship is just soooo rushed and out of all three books they have not had a genuine conversation once… I’m praying he’ll get more page time (screen time ?) in the future because ahhh he’s just so sweet 🥲🥹

Update : I decided I wasn’t going to continue this series.. no fault of the author I just usually never get past book 3/4 of these 6,7,8 etc. number of book series especially RHs. It’s been fun though , I just don’t want to over due it considering I JUST got out of a book slump

Update to my update : I’m continuing it, atleast book 4 since I was already at 20% when I made this review.

The best yet

I have loved this series from the first chapter of the first book, and this one just might be the best in the series yet. Picking up basically right where the previous book left off, Jax is missing, and the poison is really beginning to take its toll on Z. From there the action doesn’t stop with Z and her princes facing obstacles & treachery at every turn, plus some secrets finally come to light. With this installment May really amped up the feels while still providing readers with her signature humor and a good dose of steam. Excellent read and I’m so excited to see what’s in store for these characters next.

This book was a definite improvement from envy. It had a better vibe and overall was a much more fun read.
Just like with book 1, I breezed past the book. It’s one of the books in with you forget the time and just get sucked into it, not noticing all the time passing you by.
I love how the mixed POVS worked in this book. It provides more of an insight on the definite and indefinite feeling of each individual character and their different reactions to certain events.
I also enjoyed the slow introductions of snippets of events that foreshadow something in the future. It was fun to try to understand how all the facts fit together.

Worth the wait!

Great book! I timed my reread perfectly and dove straight into this book when it landed on my kindle! Absolutely great series with an epic heroine and her equally adorable and lifelike heroes. Katie May is one of my one-click authors and she’s never disappointed me yet. Will the next book be Sloth, Lust, Wrath or Pride? Either way can’t wait for more! (well I totally will wait - (im)patiently) ... sigh. At least we have Prodigum book 2 to tide us over before book 4!

Exceptional

Katie May delivers again. Picking up easily from book 2, Gluttony just keeps on rolling like a semi going downhill with no brakes. Nothing is going to stop that baby. Fast paced, intrigue oozing out the pages, love, hate and really nasty a***holes appearing when you least expect them. To top it all off, it got even better, what’s with Axel? Sister? Really? And miles’ sister, methinks that’s going to turn into a major twist. Now waiting on Sloth with bated breath

Gluttony

Book three in the damning series. This series takes you from one extreme to another I swear. I want to eviscerate the kings most especially the mermaid king and shifter kings they are just sick. I'm curious about axel is he related or what? Jax is my least favorite, too nutty for my tastes. Dair is a victim that I want to cut the legs off his father. I'm curious if they are bringing her human mate back to life. Also that cliffhanger lol. A good addition to the series!

A Magnificent Story!!!!!!

The series just keeps getting better and better. There is so much mystery, drama, suspense and action. Z is one kick butt of a lady. Her guys and her just can’t catch a break. The story is one amazing story that just keeps drawing me deeper and deeper into it. It is magnificently written and it pulls you in so deeply that you as if you are part of the story. You feel their love, pain, happiness, and even sadness. It is a must read that doesn’t disappoint.

Pretty good

So far, I'm liking the characters and the plot. My one complaint is that it feels like there's a lot of filler and not enough substance. I'm still enjoying the series, but I'm finding myself skimming through repetitive or unnecessary dialogue. By the end of this book, Z still hasn't been with all her guys. I don't consider a dream session with Jax a real thing. She's messed around with Lupe, but nothing more. I was kind of hoping for more by this point in the series.

I'll keep reading because it's interesting, but I'm hoping for things to move more quickly.

Fab series!

Book 3 of this series follows Z through Vampire territory , in hopes of saving her crazy mate Jax . Assigned as a task by one of the Kings , Z gathers her guys and sets off . There are so many twists and turns in this book you won’t want to put it down . We also get to see a more emotionally vulnerable Z in this installment, as she navigates the depravity and cruelty of this world .

okay THIS. WAS. GOOOOOOD!

Tbh, the series started off real interesting with the whole tournament aspect but then it ‘slowed down’ a lil for me? I don’t know how to explain it..But this book! So much was happening it was a crazy ride!!! I love the more we get of the men and Z. Their connection is growing and the story is unraveling which is getting me sooo excited!!!!
I NEED MOREEEE!!!!
Please let the next book come out ASAP

Loved it

The first thing I want to say is I love the fact that there is a recap at the beginning of the book to help you remember a bit about the characters and previous books, I think all books should have this!!!

This book was amazing like the previous books in the series, I love the characters and story line. I can’t wait for the next book, thank you Katie May for creating a fantastic world to dive into.

First and second book is better

I liked the book but the first and second book is better. The first and second had slot more humor and there is a flaw with the character where she is supposed to be a heartless assassin who enjoys killing but in this book she does alot of crying Over people killed even if they are innocent which contradicts who she is. still looking forward to the next book

Love

So far so good after reading this one and the first 2 I may have to admit I'm jealous, I mean why does z need so many sausages, can't she share them lol, I love all the characters but I think I'm more for Ryland Mr mysterious who hides in the shadows, I admit it was funny when he threw a book at z lol. I have a theory on what z might be so I'm excited for the 4th installment now.

Crazy and psychotic

That's what the world has become for Z. Jax is missing. She hasn't seen Dair for days. She and her guys make plans for a rescue. First, she must get the kings' permission. They travel to the Vampire Kingdom and find Aaliyah is behind the kidnapping. Z still has no idea what she wants with her. Can't wait to read what happens in the next book of this series.

After reading Greed, book one of The Damning series for my monthly Book Club I could not stop at one and devoured the rest of the books currently available in this series.

This paranormal reverse harem romance is packed with action, humour and a slow burn heat that definitely begins to ramp up once we dive further in the series. Filled with witty one liners and unexpected contradictions, you can’t help but be enjoy these books and fall in love with the characters. Each book pulls you further into the complicated world of Z and her mates, the Sin Princes, as they battle against the dark dystopian society that the Kings have created.

I can’t wait for the next book to see where the author takes this series next.

DNF

I think its best I probably stop at 49% for my own sanity.

I've had enough of the FMC at this point. She's not particularly bright, she's not really effective, she makes everything about her, shes melodramatic and has a total martyr complex going on.

I'm already rage-y at this point but the absolute last straw is when her peace loving mate is forced to hurt someone to save them and she gets upset and asks why does this have to happen to her.

I just can't anymore.
