A former SEAL and MMA fighter, and now, newly minted bounty hunter, has to hunt down his first skip...his ex-wife!
Former SEAL Cage Morgan thinks he doesn't need anyone. As a rising MMA fighter, he makes enough to do what he wants and doesn't have to answer to anyone.
Then an old friend sends an emissary, Reaper Stenberg from the Montana Bounty Hunters, to offer him a job. He agrees to meet him, but he has no intention of becoming a bounty hunter...until he hears who Reaper needs his special skill set to take down--his ex-wife.
Elaine Morgan is facing jail time due to her chosen line of work. She runs an illegal, underground fight club with her brother. Up until now, she's always run clean, fair fights, but her brother owes money to the wrong people. As she prepares to take the rap for his poor judgment, she misses her court date--that's just one more stressor to add to the pile, and she doesn't have time to worry about the consequences.
Until the night of the fight that will free her brother of his dangerous debt. Only her ex-husband shows up there, telling her he's taking her in, and he has the friends with him to get the job done. The hunters' poor timing sets off a chain of events that has the Montana Bounty Hunters staging a daring rescue.
All the while, Cage and Elaine revisit their past love, finding that the time apart put their problems in better perspective. As their connection grows, they both fear an uncertain future.

This book set up a new branch of the Bounty Hunters in Dead Horse, Montana. Former SEAL Cage Morgan who is currently fighting for the MMA is approached to join Fetch Winter's group of Bounty Hunters in the new location. He is not really sure what he wants to do with his life at this point but when they dangle that his first bail skipping fugitive retrieval would be his ex-wife he cannot turn down the offer. That alone is enough to hook you into wanting to read the book and it only gets better from there.
This book is a sub series to the original Montana Bounty Hunter series but most of the characters from the original series make a visit.
Cage is at a crossroads in his life when he retired from the Seals he used underground fighting to let some of his aggression lose and though that he met Elaine the woman organising the fights and married her but she wouldn't cut her younger brother free to make his own errors and learn from them and put Cage first so their marriage imploded No longer able to fight in the illegal fights he turned to the MMA and he has done well but he knows in his mid thirties he is getting to the end of his career An old Seal contact asks to speak to him and offers him a job working for the Montana Bounty Hunters in fact they want him to set up and head their new office in Dead Horse Montana he isn't really sure so they offer him the clincher his first case will be to bringing in his ex wife who has jumped bail to keep her brother safe. When they close in on her everything isn't as it seems and soon they are embroiled in something far deadlier than a bail jumper. When the dust settles will Elaine end up in jail or will her brother finally step up and do the right thing and what about Cage and Elaine will they be able to selvage their marriage
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and impartial review. Thanks!
OK, disclaimer here. I don’t think I have read a book by Delilah Devlin that I didn’t like. Cage is the first in a spin-off of her immensely popular Montana Bounty Hunters series and they have now moved to Dead Horse, MT. Bring on the hunks, their strong and able females and more bounty hunting!!
Cage Morgan is a former SEAL and also an up and coming MMA fighter, but he’s at a loss, because there is a void in his life and he’s undecided about what he really wants to do with his life, because he can only keep fighting for so long.
He gets offered a job to join the Montana Bounty Hunters and with his skill set he’s a shoe in – if he wants it, but he isn’t sure what he wants. He agrees to meet up with Reaper from the Montana Bounty Hunters to find out some more and what he learns floors him and gives him the chance to maybe find the real purpose in his life because MMA fighting really isn’t it, and also get his ex back.
The only problem is that what should be a simple grab turns out to be so much more. I liked Elaine and Cage and it was also great to see some of the old Montana Bounty Hunters popping up in cameos throughout the story. Cage left his marriage because his wife Elaine kept supporting her deadbeat brother against Cage’s better judgement and it all just got too much. One flaming row and he was gone. Elaine worked hard to run clean fights and make a life for herself despite her illegal line of work and the deadbeat brother, but now it’s all about to go up in flames and she’s going to end up in jail, until Cage reappears on the scene. I liked Cage because he was strong, capable and he still loved his ex. Elaine was strong and independent but she thinks her dreams of a family have slipped through her fingers and she realizes that she only has herself to blame. She loves her brother despite his flaws and tries her best to help him, despite the harm and damage it could do to her.
Can Cage and Elaine work out their differences, or will Elaine’s brother remain the sticking point and the reason why they can’t go forward together as a couple? Will she have to go to jail or can Cage and the Montana Bounty Hunters work some magic and help bring Cage and Elaine back together again?
If you like hunky, sexy males who shoot first and ask questions later, who protect their rather independent and strong women and fight on the side of good, then you’ll love the Montana Bounty Hunters, in particular Cage the first and hopefully not the last in the Dead Horse spin off! I can’t wait for more Dead Horse MT stories!
This is book one in The Montana Bounty Hunter's: Dead Horse, MT Series and it is Cage and Elaine's story and what a great start to a new series. Cage is an ex seal and also a MMA Fighter starting to make a name for himself and doesn't need anything else until he is offered a job as a bounty hunter which he is ready to turn down until they tell him who it is that he needs to find and then all bets are off as this job is personal. Elaine runs a fight club with her brother but when he gets into trouble yet again she decides to do a illegal underground right as her brother owes money to dangerous people and this is the only way to help him but things don't go as planned and now she could be looking at jail time if she can't sort everything out and when someone from her last shows up things get even worse or do they. The chemistry between Cage and Elaine is still as strong and intense as ever but with everything that is happening will they get a second chance as they still love each other or is there too much water under the bridge for them to make it work. I absolutely loved this book as it was a real page turner that I couldn't put down as it was full of action and I can't wait to read more books in this series. This is the first time that I have read anything by Delilah Devlin but definitely not the last as it was so well written and definitely worth reading.

Cage is trying to figure out what to do with his life. Right now he is fighting in MMA. He is meeting up with an old friend about a job offer. He can't believe the job offer is to become a bounty hunter and bring in He ex. Elaine is following in her father's footsteps doing illegal fights. She also realizes she lost her husband because her world also revolves around protecting her brother who keeps getting in more trouble. She even skipped a hearing to protect him. She knows she is im trouble but has to get through this night first. Cage has spent the last 3 years hating his ex. She chose the fights and taking care of her adult brother and bailing him out of everything over their marriage. When he sees her again, he knows he still loves her and has to help her. He also knows she has to go to jail first. Will he stay a bounty hunter? Will she get a light sentence? Will he wait for her?
This was the first book in a new series and did a good job setting up the characters for the coming books. Look forward to reading more of this series.
Cage Morgan is a former SEAL and now an MMA fighter. He takes a courtesy meeting to hear about a job as a bounty hunter but has no real interest until he finds out the subject of their manhunt is his ex-wife.
Elaine Morgan runs an illegal fight club with her younger brother Brent. She is charged with having a minor under 17 participate in a fight though it was her brother Brent who recruited the kid.
When the bounty hunters apprehend Elaine they find out about extenuating circumstances and they decide to help her and her brother before turning her over to the authorities. Cage and Elaine realize they still love each other and want to get back together but have to get her legal situation fixed first.

How do you go from a seal to a civilian? You start with being a MMA fighter and then you hook up with a friend that sends you check out the Montana Bounty Hunters but you know that's not for you until you find our they are after your exwife and you know you have to be the one to take her in. Can you save her? Do you let her go to prison? How do you get close? She's not going to want anything to do with you so you better come up with a good plan.
Read the 1st book in this new series to find out how Cage gets close to his exwife. I would recommend this book to everyone. Delilah's book are easy to read and get lost in.
I was given an arc for a honest review. This is my honest opinion about this book and series.
This first book in the Montana Bounty Hunters spin-off series is a quick and easy read, and is filled with action from start to finish. Cage, retired Navy SEAL and former MMA fighter, is at a crossroads in his life. He doesn’t think he wants to become a Bounty Hunter, but he agrees to try it out when he’s told that a new branch of the agency is going to be going after his ex-wife. Elaine, the aforementioned ex-wife, has been caught up in a situation that spiraled beyond her control. Together, they made a great couple and you could feel the connection.
I thought this was an entertaining story with a nice ending. It does a great job setting up the series. I also really enjoyed the bonus short story. I'm sure we'll see more of Marti and I hope we'll meet Mr. Park Ranger again too!
Omg I loved the story of Cage and Elaine. He’s a former navy seal and MMA fighter. They were married once, but when Elaine continued to Enable her brothers bad behavior, Cage knew her choice wasn’t with him. Years later Elaine misses an important court date, and now Cage, a bounty hunter, has to bring Elaine in and save her brother. But can he also save what they once had? Great story and characters!!
This *I think* is my first Devlin story. I've not read any of the other bounty hunter books by her, so I'm going into this as a virgin. ;)
I didn't feel I missed anything not reading her other bounty hunter books so A+ there. However, I didn't feel a connection to the characters whether new or old. And because of this I'm torn on whether I'll continue with this 'sub-series'. It definitely wasn't a bad read...just didn't hook me.
I started in the middle of this series and immediately fell in love with the Hunters. I just had to start from the beginning with Book 1 and Cage does not disappoint. The books are action packed and the Bounty Hunters are resourceful in catching their targets. With Cage, this is a second chance romance which lacked a little depth, but the book focused more on introducing the members of the team and background information. Good introduction to Dead Horse and future books.
Very intriguing storyline with lots of twists and turns. Well written and easy to follow. Enjoyed the characters and supporting characters and can definitely see this being an interesting series. Looking forward to reading more in the series. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
Fletch has been trying to get Cage to join his bounty hunter agency. He gets him to meet Reaper who tells him of the bounty they need his help with. They are going after his ex wife. Will he help them? Will old feelings resurface? Come join the hunt and find out.
Cage: WOW! Lots of surprises and suspense! Great addition to the Bounty Hunters! Cage is a great addition to the team. I liked that Cage still had the feelings for Elaine. Even though she took sides several years ago he still loved her. It was a great romance and fantastic writing.
Well this was interesting and different compared to the originals. Only because u have the MMA fighter aspect to it. Cage didn't know whether he wanted on the team or not, but his ex wife is the bounty they are after. But not all as it seems. HEA
If you like your romance hot and a lot of heart pounding action along with it... get this book! And then get all of the other books by Delilah Devlin!!
I loved reading Cage's story and his journey back to his ex-wife Elaine. It was great to catch up with some of the Montana Bounty Hunter crew as well. Definitely recommended!
I love this first book in the new series. I am always amazed at how much story Delilah can put in these short stories. Cage is warm with an inviting tough personality who is love. The women he loves is in all kinds of trouble. He comes to the rescue so a future can be started.
Cage (Montana Bounty Hunters: Dead Horse, MT Book 1)
Interesting story. Seeing how much Cage protested against working as a bounty hunter and then taking the job was intriguing. This is a great start to the series.
I’m interested to see where this series goes now that the new Montana Bounty Hunters Dead Horse office is being set up and manned. Very fast moving book and lots of intrigue and action!
