In this anthology, you’ll find ten well written and entertaining short stories that have something for everyone. A reluctant assassin pays off his dead father's debt to the Alien equivalent of organized crime with fish. Hungry beings vacuum their future gourmet meal off the street. A wily girl surviving in a post-apocalyptic world takes instructions from a Chatty Cathy doll. A terrifying tale of waking up and not knowing who you are or who you love with ominous spaceships flying overhead spouting propaganda. What will explorers find under Europa’s thick ice? In one-hundred words, you'll find out. Will a shapeshifting kitty cat spy accomplish her mission? An epic poem about saving humanity rationalized by organ harvesting and cloning. A survivor lives to avenge the death of her father, but at what cost? A terrified father prepares his frightened son for the apocalypse, just in case the parents happen to be out. Scientists prepare to hunker down before a meteor hits. How they discovered their safe place is a story all on its own.

I highly recommend this collection of Science fiction stories. I couldn’t put the book down. Thank you to the publisher, Black Hare Press, for offering a free fiction series to make life a little easier during this difficult time.

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories. Some quality writing here in my humble opinion. I would also like to clarify that these are not merely samples of existing larger books. I saw a lower star rating online when I was acquiring these stating as much. These are complete one off short stories.

I also really enjoy the premise of the publisher putting these collections together. Something for folks to enjoy when the mandatory lockdowns hit worldwide last year. I can't comment if these collections are free across all platforms, but I was able to get all the existing volumes for Sci-Fi, Horror, Phantom, and Fantasy for free through the Nook Book Store on B&N.com. Again, just a quality thought from the publisher.

I haven't read much science fiction in life, but found this diverse collection of short stories, a drabble, and even long-form poetry engaging and fun. The book begins with a revenge story with a science fiction backdrop. Packed with emotion and action, it's a good introduction to the collection. My personal favorite was The Bunker, by David Bowmore. There are nice little touches throughout the story, in which a father is preparing his son for the possibility of a nuclear attack between a future Earth and Mars. For science fiction, this story had a lot of heart and feels like the prologue to a novel I would definitely buy.
