Eve Rodsky is working to change society one marriage at a time with a new 21st century solution to an age-old problem: women shouldering the brunt of childrearing and domestic life responsibilities regardless of whether they work outside the home.

In her forthcoming book Fair Play: A Game-Changing Solution for When You Have Too Much to Do (and More Life to Live), she uses her Harvard Law School training and years of organizational management experience to create a gamified life-management system to help couples rebalance all of the work it takes to run a home and allow them to reimagine their relationship, time and purpose.

Eve Rodsky received her B.A. in economics and anthropology from the University of Michigan, and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. After working in foundation management at J.P. Morgan, she founded the Philanthropy Advisory Group to advise high-net worth families and charitable foundations on best practices for harmonious operations, governance and disposition of funds. In her work with hundreds of families over a decade, she realized that her expertise in family mediation, strategy, and organizational management could be applied to a problem closer to home – a system for couples seeking balance, efficiency, and peace in their home. Rodsky was born and raised by a single mom in New York City and now lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their three children.

These cards were helpful to implement the plan in the fantastic book by the same name. A few cards were ridiculous, though. For example, "cleaning" was only ONE card. Cleaning an entire house is far too much work for one person to take on. I think there should have been separate cards for dusting, cleaning floors, cleaning bathrooms, etc. A huge blunder was not including a card for "making sure kids complete their chores." As every parent knows, making sure kids do their chores adequately and on time takes far more time and energy than just doing them yourself. And the exhausted default parent gets so worn down from this huge task.

So we did add a few cards of our own that were painfully obvious to us.

The book is EXCELLENT. The cards aren't necessary but might help you actually implement the plan.

What is the point of buying the physical deck if you have to get online to look at the descriptions for each of the tasks? This easily could’ve been printed on the back of each card, but they were too lazy to do that 😒 at the very least it would’ve been nice for a space for notes on the card so you could write in your own description of what the task includes. Save yourself some time and money, and just find the Notion template of this to print out.

I used these cards with my fiance and loved the activity! It was great. Constructive and absolutely worth it. I am excited to read the book that goes with the cards.

Could not recommend this book and card deck more for any couple or even roommates if close and share house responsibilities.

Great concept, but not specific enough to be truly useful, at least for my life. Made an excel sheet that has more details based on this idea
