This is the second episode in Krista’s story. The story was enjoyable, but I’m not sure I like the format. With hindsight I should have waited until the author had finished the series of ‘chapters’ and read them all in one go.

Great continuing story

This is the continuing story of Krista's escape from a bad situation in the French/German border just as WW2 is about to begin. This story is beautifully written and very interesting. I feel I know the characters so well. I don't understand why some reviewers rated this poorly because it was short. The description clearly stated these are a series of stories. Also the number of pages are shown. There is nothing about the writing of character development to complain about. Great story.

I just love to read Gemma Jackson! This series has been very quick and short books, but in her usual style they always tell a great story quickLy and engagingly. This one tells of a young gal, Krista, who escaped the German French border a few years before the start of the second world war and emigrated to Great Britain. This episode number two tells of her life as an au pair as the war is about to begin.

In book 2 of the Krista’s War series we begin to learn about her new life in England. Krista’s whole world changes for the better. She discovers her parents are deceased and must decide what direction her life will take. In the meantime she goes to London to be Lia’s assistant. War against Hitler is imminent and I have a feeling Krista will somehow be involved.

To be continued.

Bah! I hate that phrase. I also hate books that have cliff hangers. Nevertheless, this story is well written in every way.

How annoying it ended on a cliff-hanger. Good, though incomplete read. Perhaps it is for a younger audience?

Krista's story is developing nicely in England. Well written and a pleasure to read. As always, Gemma Jackson's books are hard to put down.
